I liked the quiet location. The room we were in was very clean and well furnished. The members kitchen was a friendly place with all that we needed to prepare our meals.

Location, location, in village, near reservoir , forest , excellent for cycling. Friendliness of staff, lock up shed for bikes.

The fear that this YHA Hostel could close end of 2014 . Consideration should be given to keep it open as the newly built observatory will attract more people in the very near future to this area.

Great welcome on arrival. Bedroom was warm which was a bonus as -2 outside. Getting a code for door was excellent as didn't have to rush back for 11pm

    Nothing comes to mind!

Cleanliness; comfortable bed; pub nearby; tidy kitchen; cost

Take some insect repellent - had to shut the windows (midges) and therefore stuffy during the night

The hostel had a problem with legionella in the water system whch had been dosed however we were unable to shower at the hostel we had to use the shower option some distance walk from the hostel. Had we known we would not have booked this facility. The hostel staff indicated that they were unable to reflect this info on the website. There was a midge problem in the village (hence a 10 min walk to the shower was not ideal) and therefore we could not open the windows in our room but the room was unbearably hot and the ventilation for the facility was switched off at night - Made for a very unpleasant night.

Good spot, helpful friendly staff. Generally clean but see comment,

The bins in the lavatories and our own "en suite" had not been emptied , were stuffed full of nappies, which made the rooms smelly !!
