Wonderful location, lovely friendly staff - they were volunteers. I had an amazing room with bathroom all to myself and woke up on a sunny morning with this great sea view. There was nothing to dislike about the hostel, but be aware that this part of Cornwall is expensive for eating out. The hostel has a self-catering kitchen.

Fantastic location. Wonderful view of the sea. Immaculate hostel with a light , bright decor, nice dining area and a comfortable sitting room.(Both with lovely views.) Well equipped and very clean kitchen.Parking available. Garden with sea view and picnic benches , and many friendly wild rabbits bouncing about ! Very near the coastal path, so very convenient for coastal walking , which was what we had come to do.All day access. Near a brilliant cliff side cafe . Walking distance to the village, and next to an interesting lighthouse which is open to the public. We had a large , ground floor 2 bedroomed en suite room . It was suitable for a disabled person as it had a walk in shower. .(We would not have wanted to stay in a dormitory.) Very good value. The boiler was not working properly so hot water wasn't always available. Staff were making valiant efforts to get it fixed.(It had apparently only been serviced the week before.)

The hostel is a typical YHA, with backpack people (sometimes groups of kids) cooking for themselves and hanging around there. Our landlords were nice volunteers. Our en-suite room was clean, but except from the great seaview (and the view on a lot of grazing rabbits on the nice lawn) very sterile and the bathroom clean, but exceptional clinical. Also the bed was 20cm too short for me and my girlfriend. Not for the romantic, but okay for cliffwalkers. One note on the location: when we got there by car, we went to the Lighthouse itself and thought that the hostel is there (in fact there are also small flats for rent there, but not by YHA). It took us a while to find out that the actual hostel was in a separate, nice building just round the corner :)

I cannot praise it highly enough. We were a party of four who were interested in walking some of the coastal path and a general weekend break. The views and location are stunning. We had two on suite rooms which were exceptionally clean and comfortable, also the sea views were amazing. The facilities were very good. Full marks to staff who were very helpfull. We felt we had our own mansion by the sea and will return as soon as possible. We liked everything. No down side at all.
