Good price , last minute booking , made welcome , clean fresh bedding, clean wash room/toilet,
VERY hard to find, farm yard filth All over access to car park, paint work in room Very poor, general feeling of being in a punishment camp, looked at others in the area and in comparison I have to say Dalby Forrest needs some improvement ,
The location is good, in a quiet village just off the road from Pickering to Whitby. The warden was very friendly and the kitchen facilities were good.
We paid £79 for a small and slightly scruffy room, which is much more than we have paid for hotels where we have had a much more comfortable room with towels included, beds made up, a television and wifi. I can manage without those things but would not expect to pay hotel prices.
Lovely situation. Clean room. Friendly welcome.
Boiler was broken, so no hot water.
Jenny is a great host- very welcoming The facilities are great if you want a simple, practical and affordable solution Access to Dalby Forest MTB Chatting with other guests Local pub(s) Really couldnt fault it- my first time in a YHA and will look at others close to trail centres
The place itself was handy for Pickering in a nice position spoilt by the clientell not taking any notice of the requirements and rules.
Too noisy people were up talking/smoking till 2am and the following morning (Sunday) children were running around the corridors/kitchen/lounge from before 8am shouting and running amock. Also there was dirty dishes left in the kitchen. Probably wont stay again.
very friendly and welcoming
the bathroom had no separate window. the room had a window only onto the reception, no direct fresh air.
Distance from pub
Quiet peaceful location
