location is good, but you have a 5 or 6 blocks walking distance from the metro station that can boring if you have luggage or it's raining. The common areas are great and there's also a place to dry your hair next to the laundry room :)
Rooms are very small and you don't have enough place to manage your things. I stayed at the 5th floor and the shower failures many times and also seemed not to be very clean at the last day I've stayed.
People are organized there. Nice lokers,
Too small rooms for too many people. Just 1 elevator. No free wi-fi for non yha members
Great location and cheap
Not the hostels fault just ended up in a room with 2 snorers, I could of bought some earphones at reception desk but didn't want to have to get out of bed and dressed to go buy them so got little sleep but like I said not the hostels fault and luck of the draw who is in your room
The location was good. Not far to walk to Oxford Street. I walked back from Picadilly about 10pm -solo woman - and felt quite safe. Facilities were good. Convenient to have extra shower and toilet off corridor. Large cupboards for storage in dorm room. Good local restaurants with Tesco around the corner. Staff were generally friendly and helpful.
The cost of breakfast was a bit high for cereal and toast. When croissants ran out the platter wasn't replenished.
I thought it was good value for money. The location is very good and the facilities are reasonable. I found the staff friendly and helpful and I liked that I could leave my bags there safely after I had checked out
I did not like that there was a charge for wifi. I think that these days that should be free and included in the charge to stay
The rooms and bathrooms were always clean, comfortable clean mattress and duvet. Decor nice simple and modern. Showers were always hot. The food area was really nice. Good laundry room.
Pillows were very flat. 1 Shower tried had very poor water pressure and sprayed all over the place. Other shower was good but couldn't be adjusted for direction or height so was a bit awkward to use.
Friendly Atmosphere, convenience, and comfort.
Located just at the central area, neighbor to Oxford street and Regeant Street, tescos around the corner. Friendly working staff, nice kitchen and bedrooms.
There's only one antique elevator, slow and fragile. The water in bathing room keeps flow out , roaming on the floor.
The friendliness of staff The informality yet still efficient The lift The en suite bedroom
No complaints at all - met some very interesting people. Would be good to have some gluten free bread available for those who are wheat intolerant.
Very clean for a hostel, excellent location in central London for walks shopping, sightseeing etc., nice facilities, friendly stuff, felt very safe.
Beds where a bit small and it would be good if there were more toilets.
PRO : GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY.KITCHEN ALWAYS CLEAN.STAFF VERY FRIENDLY
TWO TOILETS AND TWO SHOWER FOR EACH FLOORS ARE TOO FEW
Bed and room are very clean . Staffs are very nice .
Location, Staff, clean room and bathroom. I really enjoyed.
One minus is that the was a bit noise at night, people were walking around at midnight and closing the door very hard.
Near oxford circus only few minute walk. There was a lift, very convenient. The room was clean. Nice pizza. Bathroom inside the room.
No free wifi. No carpet in the toilet.
A wide range of ages that stay in the hostel. The location is really good. You can walk to major of interest places.
NO free wi-fi. You need to pay to have internet access. In the 5th floor is really difficult to have a shower because the water pressure is really low.
Friendly service Quiet warm bunk
Cleanliness Comfortable beds Plug sockets provided En suite
Room was quite hot at night
I stayed in a 6-bed female dorm room. The room was fairly spacious. Instead of lockers, there were lockable cabinets. The beds were foam and very comfortable, with clean sheets. Each bed had 2 outlets and a bed light, which was very convenient. The bathroom facilities were nice and clean, although I think the sink in the room could have been bigger. Because it was so small, all of us ended up splattering water all over the place. The common spaces were great. There were was always people there, but no one seemed social. I think everyone was there because that's where the WiFi was. Please note the WiFi is not free unless you're a YHA member. If you're not a member, they charge you for every 20 minutes and pretty high rates. On the brighter side, the there was all types of foods and drinks for sale in the common area - chips, pizza, beers, etc. The staff was also friendly. There is luggage storage available with no charge.
The cabinets in the room weren't large enough for luggage. The luggage room needs shelves for organization. It was almost impossible to open the door into that room because it was so packed and disorganized. The WiFi charge is too expensive.
nice furnishing, clean rooms..
only one wc and shower at the corridor's both ends.. and i would like to have wifi connection at room..
The friendliness and assistance of the YHA staff and good music in the reception area. Has a homely atmosphere.
Had a great two-nights stay at this hostel. The location is excellent. Found it clean, safe, good vibes, friendly and helpful staff and great services. There was no apparent noise during the two nights I stayed, so I slept very well. (stayed a friday and a saturday night). Appreciating the availability of baggage storage room (the room is looked), laundry (did not use this time), kitchen (did not use this time), breakfast from 6am , front desk open 24hs, free maps etc. They also indicate many ideas for activities and tips for the stay. Internet available at charge (did not use this time). Each bed has at least one place for charging electrical devices (I had happened to have two available). Safe storage of bag in the room (big lockers, bring or hire a pad lock for it). Fast at answering questions per email (for example before the trip). Depending on what time you would want to go to bed/rest/sleep you might want to bring an eyebag and earplugs. In the room I stayed it was pretty quiet (both inside the room and the street outside), so I didn't have to use the earplugs. Eyebag came in handy when I went to bed pretty early one night, since the others were not sleeping and the main light was on. Towel is not included, can be rented. The bed is fully equipped and warm. The individual lamps (at each bed) I find are placed so it doesn't disturb the other people too much. My room had a sink (possible to fill up a 0,5liter bottle of water there) , and toilet+shower outside in the corridor. (other rooms has shower and toilet incorporated in the room I think) At check out they asked me for how I liked the stay and asked specifically for feedback (about cleanliness for example). I'd definately stay there again! Had a great experience (above expectation).
The toilet in the corridor was very small, so it was kinda hard to turn around and similar. (Also often wet on the floor) You kinda couldn't move around in there if you happened to have a smaller backpack or a bag with you. (The toilets near the cafeteria is to prefer if you need to go to the toilet as you enter or leave the hostel, i.e. while carrying something)
The location I pretty well placed, though it is still a few blocks away from the bustle of the West End and Piccadilly Circus. Food available for purchase was pretty good too, though a little over priced comparing to just going for a short walk and buying it else where, but I guess you're also buying convenience.
It seems to be the luck of the draw when it comes to clean beds . Initially for the first few nights I was stuck with the top bunk in a female only room where I had no major problems. Though I am very uncomfortable on top bunks usually, so after a few nights, I requested to move to a newly freed up bottom bunk bed within the same room, where I was much more comfortable. Unfortunately, next morning I awoke with many bites from what seemed like bed bugs. I did not have the same problem with the initial top bunk bed. I was not happy at all to say the least. Keeping in mind that this was also new sheets. Also the room I was allocated was in the lower ground floor, though the room did have airconditioning, the windows were unable to be opened to a sufficient width, so both fresh air and light seemed to have difficulty entering and so if the AC was not kept on at reasonably cool temperature the room would start to smell musty.
I loved the location, the place, the cleanness and the staff.
My room mates where very noise and dirty. One of them always woke up at 5 (too early).
Location, very friendly and helpful staff.
Small bathroom and shower
location was good and safe. near oxford circus.
