However, there were quite a few downsides. Firstly, I saw a couple of mice running around the basement level. Next, when I asked the woman at reception pretty much anything, I was met with a sigh, and an attitude like everything was too much trouble for her. There was only one power socket in the room, which was a pain, but manageable.
The room itself was clean, but a little cold from the drafts coming through the window. Also, if you're a light sleeper (I'm not!) you can hear the bells from the cathedral every 15 minutes.
Ok, so the location is great, there's no getting away from it. For what you pay, you couldn't ask for better. The beds were also pretty comfortable, and the shower (despite being shared) was amazing.
Despite the downsides, because of the location and low cost, I'd stay here again.
