“I had a nice time, transports close and directions are easy to follow. Met some lovely people while staying there and was very calming and near attractions and places to eat and shop. Just 10min walk from the city centre.”

The room was very clean, and the staff were friendly. The rate which the hotel gave per night on booking.com was only for members of yha. I needed to pay for membership of yha hotel group to get the rate for members and for the possibility that I might need to use this group of hotels in the future. If you are not a member you need to pay extra 3 pounds per night. I think booking.com should make this clear to travellers who want to book on this hotel before they book, I.e mention the price for both members and non-members of yha, So that comparison with other hotels for non-members is clear and transparent.

Staff very friendly and helpful, Hostel modern very clean and warm with good atmosphere. Small bar area, large restaurant space, cooked breakfast good. Self cook kitchen very good, tv lounge. Card entry for all room and doors Excellent walks, museums, bars and cafes close, also short walk to Tesco and Sainsbury. Room excellent, clean and spacious, 2 bed I bunk, good view of location, on the canal/wharf Car parking good. Close to free bus into centre Member of staff responded quickly to our complaint of late night noise in hostel from other guests 2.15am- Dutch students. Hostel sold useful items E.g padlock for locker at reasonable price. Kitchen good but only one oven, but perhaps people dont cook much? Think notice about consideration for other hostel users after 11pm needs to be in other languages. Cold water taps in kitechen not labelled as drinking water, but used for tea + coffee so water biled.. Plugs on appliances would be useful to be labelled as 2 sockets for 3 plugs. Cooker in kitchen, not clear on how to use the grill, had to show Chinese and Singaporean guests how to use it

i have never stayed in a hostel and was a bit wary but for the price me and friends decided to go for it, We were so suprised its nicer than some hotels i have stayed in! The place itself from theoutside looks really impressive and when you go in you are greeted by really friendly staff, they have a nice bar area to get a drink and food which are really reasonable, the rooms are so clean and comfortable and we would reccomend the cooked breakfast in the morning it was lovely! i will tell anyone about this place its brilliant and would book again, thanks for a brilliant stay and see you again! nothing at all it was superb

Location and facilities great Too many drunken yobs use this yha. Very noisy at 2.30 until 4.45 am and night porter didn't stop them soon enough from shouting and banging down corridors

The location near the canal and Museum of Science and Industry was lovely, the interior design of the hostel was nice and modern and the staff were very helpful. There was a very noisy group of german students running up and down the corridors and the corridors had very little sound insulation. The staff eventually calmed them down but only by threatening that they had to leave if they did not quieten done. It would be helpful therefore to make it clear that there is a quiet time (this was at 10.30pm) to all guests. Also we had a hard tome finding the hostel and a big yha sign at the end of Potato Wharf would have been very helpful.

Very good all round value for money & nice place/location. No clear instruction that you need to attach the ladder to the bed to reach the top bunk! This is not a complaint - just advice!

When I reached Manchester. Taxi man knew its location. I reached there without any problem. Reception was helpful. She did all normal duties. In the morning receptionist called a taxi as I requested which arrived within few minutes. I vacated at about 8 am. It was comfortable. Thanks

Was very overpriced for what it was. Ended up getting charged for not being a member and an additional 20% tax charge. Was way more than anticipated and not worth the money

The comfort of bed with thick comforter and the kitchen with great utensils and facilities to use. Really convenient to cook. Plug not enough in the room. In addition, one of the plug point is spoilt and when another roomates are using, we have to wait till the next morning to use which is quite bad as it wasted our time.
