YHA Penzance  

Very smart and welcoming, well resourced, comfortable, clean, convenient, everything we could want. Very handy to have the smart restaurant if we wanted to buy food or just a cup of coffee.

Nothing - altogether a very pleasant experience. The only tiny snag was a couple of inconsiderate guests who were rather noisey getting up in the morining but this wan't the fault of the hostel.

I am pretty satisified with this YHA. As usual, YHA provide clean and convienent facility for customer. There is a big garden beside the building, we enjoy had meal arounded by tress and sunshine.

They do not provide free WIFI and hair drier.

Very good kitchen facilities, quality breakfast (extra cost).

No wifi available and all computers out of order, bunk beds for us as a couple, check-in not available until 4pm and then rushed to checkout by 10am as reception closing (reception closed 10-4), fair way out of centre.

The staff were very helpful. Decor was fab as was the location. We didn't have time to eat in the restaurant but it looked very good and value for money

Being in a room opposite the toilets, rather noisy as were the doors as they were fire doors and people just let them go

- The opening hours - closed all day - Not being told beforehand that I couldn't check in during the day - The attitude of the receptionist - no apology for me not being able to check in when I arrived at midday, telling me it was my fault for booking through Booking.com instead of a hostel website, talking all over me and not letting me get a word in edgeways, generally a flippant dismissive manner that left me feeling so frustrated that I was in tears by the time I entered my dorm. - No locks for the lockers and the justification being "There's no thieving here". - The distance from town. It is a 30 minute walk from the rail station; a very long way when you arrive and find you can't check in for another 4 hours! - There is little / no lighting on the path leading up to the hostel at night. The path takes around 5 minutes to walk, with only bushes and fields either side. Lovely by day, but a very unsettling experience for a single girl walking there at 11pm.

Room 4 was far too small for 3 bunks (i.e. 6 people) space was too limited to move and get changed/dressed.

Dormitory was quite small and the bunks not long enough for a tall person

The accommodation was lovely and the toilets and shower rooms were plentiful and clean.

I didn't like that the pillow I brought with me was taken from my bed. It did not turn up during my stay.

It had a hostel price with hotel standards. Everything was very clean, the staff was friendly and helpful, and I was overall very impressed. It was a bit of a walk out of the town center, but it is in a forested area which is very beautiful, so the location is still good.

Breakfast was very good, and the staff were very friendly which made up for them being quite slow and a little incompetant.

It did seem quite expensive. The staff could maybe do with more training to make some processes, such as check in, quicker.

Location is good, however, it is bit out of town center.

Having to make my own bed, as I arrived late this meant I disturbed others in the room.

Friendly staff, interesting roommates and great location - much closer to the seaside than expected. No additional fees if not a YHA member. Surprisingly clean toilets and spotless shower room It is very likely, I will use it again.

No padlocks in 'wardrobes' (better bring your own). Electronic lock to the door wasnt working in our room (always open), but it wasnt a serious problem
