My hangover, but I suppose I'll have to be honest and blame the tequila rather than YHA Portland for that
Many thanks to Angela who couldn't have done more to ensure we had a good stay - even ensuring our family group had a room to ourselves away from a very noisy (and very jolly) university group of 30 climbers.
Did not know where all the loos were and had to wait ages.
Simple comfortable good showers
Staff and location perfect - their recommendations for food also great!
Clean comfortable rooms just to far from weymouth beach and seafront
The receptionist insisted that I was transfered to the mixed room (I guess under pressure to take another female guest). Once I shown the print out of my original booking, I could take my bed in female room! Please take a print of your booking. Did get an apology.
Ideal place to stop for solo, young or mature travelers, quiet location, clean rooms and bathroom, the kitchen is cleaned every morning. You will need transport.
Not opening until 5:00 No evening meal 'cause girl had broken her arm, but no contingency had been arranged
Location suited walk round Portland and integration with th SouthWestCoastPath. Friendly staff. Comfortable day room
We were there during a very hot stretch and the room on the top floor was very warm with no way to cool down to sleep even with open windows.
Location was great, and the facilities were clean and well kept. Staff were friendly and helpful and organized. A lovely place to stay and would do so again.
The rooms were not all that good. Should have some sort of a air conditioning in the rooms. It was terribly hot the night we stayed there and we were not even able to open the windows up much to get some air circulations to compensate the heat.
The restrooms and the shower rooms were clean and good.
I loved the location! It let me explore Portland. The staff was friendly and the hours good.
Friendly atmosphere. Great food. Close to the sailing academy. Drying facilities. Perfect accommodation for sailors attending the Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy.
For the money paid it's simply the best place to stay in Portland.
Friendly staff, great value with other friendly people staying. The hostel did offer a great breakfast (even though it isn't mentioned on booking.com) for a small additional cost.
Takes a little getting used to sharing room with strangers
Drying room Generous breakfast Youth Hostel Ethos and charitable function
Ken from yha has been extremely helpful and fun...met a gr8 person...afterall who would cook rice for you when you check -in @ 11pm :-)
