Offering breathtaking views of the Sussex South Downs, the Newmarket Inn is located between Brighton and Lewes.
Score from 299 reviews Good
Dating back to the 16th century, this former coaching inn rests in the heart of the picturesque and historic Lewes. The White Hart Hotel offers modern facilities, whilst keeping its old world charm.
Score from 538 reviews Good
Situated in the heart of the vibrant city of Brighton, by the railway station, ibis Brighton City Centre boasts modern, soundproofed rooms, a bar, and a restaurant.
Score from 1305 reviews Very good
This striking Georgian property is on the seafront, overlooking Brighton beach. Modern rooms are just a 5-minute walk from Brighton Pier, shops, lively bars and popular restaurants.
Score from 712 reviews Good
Lovely building, clean, good facilities - we used the self catering kitchen. Good location for setting off on walks. Helpful staff.
The heating was too high at night (I usually sleep in a room with no heating and the window open). The lock to our door had recently been broken so we were unable to lock our room (although there were lockable cupboards in the room big enough for our belongings). I understand this is being resolved.
Great clean pod with a nice view, friendly staff, great coffee, clean facilities.
Close to main road. Works out expensive for just 2 to share a pod.
Well situated for Newhaven, Lewes, Seaford and the surrounding area. Nice café with good selection.wifi and friendly staff. Ample parking. Well appointed shower rooms. Comfortable TV lounge
Very difficult to find in the dark. Difficult to negotiate narrow internal stairs with bags.
Absolutly everything. Beautifully clean and warm. Pleasant cheerful, helpful staff, comfortable beds.Excellent breakfast, good parking, and so I could go on.....superbly priced, xmas came early.Same view of all 4 in party.
Badly signed when arriving after dark.
wonderfull location, great price.
got a verruca from the shower, food selection poor.
Nice old farm, correct price, very peaceful place and helpful at reception
Too much noise during the night (but because noisy people...) and very hard to find the place
The pod, the heater, the cleanliness and the food and the staff.
Noisy stones outside the pod.
Location. Proximity to railway station. Whole farmhouse feeling was good. Separate quiet lounge and TV lounge.
Wifi availability limited to cafe only. General refuse bin in kitchen was left to overflow.
The friendliness, courteousness and willing helpfulness from all the younger staff members.
No heating in Long barn 2, no hot water at the washbasin in the nearest WC to Long barn room 2. More senior members of staff not so cheerful in helping.
value for money, able to use kitchen facilities, parking was easy, café on-site (only used for cups of tea and breakfast, but excellent), fantastic location, staff very helpful and informative.
absolutely nothing to dislike!!!!
Excellent location for walking on the South Diwns Way. Great value breakfast.
Great value for money, excellent facilities, beautiful location - recommended!
Modern facilities in a character building, A less than two minute walk from the staion, Right on a nature trail, Kind & helpful staff, Good quality mattresses, A good atmosphere, lots of heritage buffs and hikers. A very friendly lot.
Beware of the train times if you are travelling by rail !! Southease is a very small station and specially on weekends you need to plan ahead or you might get stuck in Lewes waiting for a taxi. (Great taxi service though)
really helpful friendly staff fantastic location
We were unlucky and had noisy people in the next room.
Very clean accommodations, helpful staff, good variety for breakfast, nice bathtub for soaking!
Very small room.
Great location, peaceful, walks available near by, easy access 24h a day so no rush with coming back, great for mums and kids - self catering kitchen is great for making bottles! Great breakfast - we were surprised to have the vegetarian option and served with a smile!
Unfortunately there was only one wash room for everybody so we were queuing, also check out was very early - 10am and it was a challenge to clear the pod from all the bedding and baggage by that time.
Great choice of food and friendly service in the restaurant. Lovely location with excellent views. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and modern shower/toilet facilities.
Pods were great but bed would have made them even better.
Location was good and the reception staff were helpful and friendly. Also good value for money. We would return based on this.
The chips in the cafe, woodlice in the camping pod and the camping bathroom was damp and uninviting. If these areas could be improved it would have been perfect.
Lovely location, friendly helpful staff, good value
The room is was very close to the road so it was noisy
Felt like a hotel not a YHA
The room was tiny. Slept four bit you couldn't actually have four people standing up in it at the same time.
Excellent situation on South Downs. Modern , well equipped hostel with helpful friendly staff
My bed was just a few yards from the verge of a busy trunk road. Very noisy in the evening and early morning
VERY small room. Much too noisy as close to main road. Rooms needed in the main building, not just dorms.
comfortable, friendly helpful staff
I liked literally everything! Utterly in love with youth hostels again - and south downs in particular! Amazing buildings and location, too! Felt completely safe.
the female dorm got a bit hot, but actually this didn't matter at all. Noisy drunk people in the night.
Liked all except small bedroom with 6 bunks and small windows, became hot and stuffy.
