YHA Windermere  

the location is stunning, but the bedroom was tiny for 4 people!

the room next to ours had 4 young men in it who shouted, laughed and bumped about all night long so we got very little sleep, which for us, ruined our trip

Warm, comfortable, homely and good value with pleasant, helpful staff

Needs a bigger oven for self catering guests, competing for space meant it was very late before our party of seven could eat

The location was superb. In the entrance was comfy sofas and a wood burning fire very cosy. The evening meals were huge portions and yummy. The view from the kitchen was spectacular. All the facilities such as showers and toilets were clean and lots of hot water. The bedrooms were nice and warm as well.

The room is one of the smallest I have ever stayed in for a YHA, quad room really small only room for two at a time to stand up or walk around , prefab walls in bedrooms so very thin walls . Avoid room numbers 9 or 10 very small . The mattresses on the bed very thin dipped in the middle and continually rolled into it during the night, it doesn't Make for the best nights sleep.

Accessible through out the day. Friendly & helpfull staff. Warm. Excellent views having breakfast and evening meals. Bar available. Hot powerfull showers. Excellent time had. Log fire.

1 Warden said ok to settling the bill later yet one warden reminded us on 2 occaisions settlement of £25 for 1 room outstanding. We left 2 bottles of Cava in the fridge (for celebratary 50th toast -warden was asked if this ok, yes) it was taken from the fridge at night, we asked the warden in the morning had they taken it, he said they dont take anything out of the fridge at night only during the day. Later in the morning the warden returned the 2 bottles to another member of my party, who luckily were staying for a 2nd night - the other warden had taken them and 4 cans from the fridge. We did get them returned in the end.

The staff was very friendly and upgraded us on arrival to a bigger room. The location was a bit remote but since we had rented a car, suited us. The hostel is professionally run and the staff were brilliant multi taskers !

Good breakfast but also excellent cooking facilities to cut down cost. Rooms basic but clean and warm. Good parking, comfy relaxation areas.

Noisy pipes and noisy children unsupervised by parents and ignored by staff when I think they should have found the parents and spoken to them about the chd.

the views fromt he hostel were second to none! The staff were very helpful, friendly and infomative. We would definitely come back - but not in a bunk bed twin! :-)

There was a slight smell of damp in our room (5) There were quite a lot of children staying especially in the room next to us who had a 'lets jump off the bunk' competition at 6.30am! I know that's the parents responsiblity not yours but maybe this needs to be pointedc out to parents on arrival?

Once I found it!!!!!! It was very good in some ways, clean, friendly staff, etc. But...not good at all if you had mobility problems. I did say on booking that I required a floor level bed not a bunk and that I had mobility problems. Sadly I found I had to negotiate a very large number of stairs to get to my room which I managed with serious difficulty. I was not offered the use of the stair lift as I was not in a wheelchair!!!! I could not consider staying there again unless I could have a ground floor room (en-suite) preferably. My dorm (13) had a fabulous 'wet-room style' en-suite, perfectly kitted out for disabled on the first floor! Very dissappointed as overall the place and location were lovely, but it almost killed me, and once I had got up the stairs there was no way I could go down as I couldn't have got up the stairs a second time. Sorry - not disabled friendly at all!

The self catering kitchen is great! We can cook and make our own foods which can save some money. The room is clean and quiet with comfortable bed, staffs are friendly.

The only bad thing is the road which lead us to the hotel is quite narrow, need to be very careful when driving. Not recommended for non-driving backpacker because it is quite far from the main road.

Beautiful place & very friendly staff! The staff even went well out of their way to return an item we left in our room- cannot thank or recommend them enough!

Very little space in our 4 bedded room

Although still a yha, very professional, helpful and friendly staff made our stay there easy and comfortable. The facilities are as you'd expect: clean rooms, clean and hot showers, self catering kitchen with new clean appliances or a dining room providing hot breakfasts and evening meals....there's even a good bar. We had an evening meal which was was made with fresh produce and was delicious, one of five choices, and with a pudding was under a tenner. Not the biggest of places but enough room to find yourself a quiet corner if you choose, or join others in the dining room and bar. Excellent value for money. YHA - No longer just for goretex clad, lentil eating beardo's but for real people too

Had to make my own bed....but a thirty second task and not too much to ask at these prices

I thought overall it was very comftable ,mick on reception worked very hard and was really helpful,the hospitality staff were amazing ,you felt really relaxed ,the rooms were very clean and comfy thank you ,

I have stayed at yha Windermere before and have always been impressed by the facilities and friendliness of the staff. It is one of the better yha's in the area and is great value for money in both accomodation and food prices.

Found the staff very friendly. The facilities were excellent and it was the cleaniest hostel I have stayed in for years.

房间很干净，住宿也很舒服！只是离温德米尔火车站步行有些远，打车需要9磅。

交通不是很方便，需要打车到镇中心！

工作人员的服务态度很好，房间也很整洁。

如果自驾车的话就方便，不然拖着行李爬山非常累！幸好路上遇到一个YHA的老爷爷会员，看我们在雨中拖着行- 李爬山，主动下车帮我们，真是非常感谢这位好心的爷爷！ 房子周围的环境很好，房间也算干净，还能自带食物在楼下餐厅自己煮来吃。 只能说对得起价格

不能上网，住的很不方便！

地方很好，可以做饭。

设施和服务态度都很好，因为我们只住一个晚上所以没有来得及看风景，但是位置有点偏不好坐车，不过背包客应- 该很喜欢~~~
