the location was excellent to where we were heading on the evening. Staff were lovely and helpful and the breakfast was excellent.
couldnt fault the place
The restaurant attached had nice food and very friendly and attentive employees
The duvet was ripped the carpet was dirty and there was hair in the bathroom. There was also noone to complain to because reception closes before 8pm. Not worth the price at all.
The location was good with onsite parking. Small but clean recently refurbished shower room. Comfy bed with the biggest telly ever in a small bedroom!
Cooked breakfast floating in grease, yuk! Communal areas are in need of updating. Full sized room fan that was loose at the top and kept falling off.
Close to center and Westgate Train Station Very helpful, efficient and friendly receptionist
Very close to station. Perfect room. Very comfy 4 poster bed. Excellent shower
First impression of building is not that of a hotel, front lobby and reception is similar to that of a youth hostel. Take the lift and the room is very different, especially 213
on site parking. Hotel looks really lovely from the outside, lovely signage. Pity they haven't had the same consideration for the guest rooms.
The shower in 201 was disgusting, so didn't use it, black mould on the shower head, the holder is broken, constantly dripping water, mould all around the shower base. no shaver socket to charge my tooth brush. no bedside lights, they were on another wall !! no sockets near beds. no bed toppers, sheet straight on top, duvet and pillows really thin . full breakfast left a lot to be desired.
Great location, friendly staff, comfortable room
The clean four poster bed and breakfast and friendly staff
There was nothing I did not like
Staff - friendly Good Breakfast Large comfy bed
'View' from room 202
Right in the heart of town, just two minutes walk from the train station, the hotel is perfectly placed. The half board rate was very fair for what was provided. A good breakfast with a good choice from the early dinner menu. I picked a pasta and rice dish which was a bit too heavy on the cheese for me, but then thats a personal taste thing. The bread was delicious and the pizza's looked really good. The room had been newly painted and carpeted. All was clean and tidy. The bathroom was small but functional. Overall, a nice hotel for an overnight in Wakefield.
Room was cold, but then the radiator wasn't on and the window open when I arrived. Apart from that, no complaints really.
Strong smell of pot being smoked blowing in off the public balcony. Bedroom carpet heavily stained. Well worn bed with 2 very flat pillows.
Hotel was very nice. This is located in the center of Wakefield and was a amazing quality. Perfect location being close to the station whilst not hearing the main roads below
Our Double Bed in the triple room was 2 single pushed together. This made the center part uncomfortable
Good position, good breakfast and very good en suite facilities
As a couple we were in a room with three beds (one king and two singles) and out of the four cups provided, three were dirty (one with lipstick mark).
Both times I entered the hotel, I walked past takeaway food containers in the corridor on the way to my room. Breakfast was very disappointing, Asda own brand yoghurt and bacon fried for so long it snapped when I cut it.
Staff were very helpful and friendly nothing was to much trouble
There was no facility for sitting in a group other than at breakfast. The bar area had mainly tables for two, except for a sofa and couple of chairs right at the end of the room which was right next to the kitchen exuding cooking oil smells. We found the general appearance of the inside of the hotel to be quite dowdy.
Excellent location, very close to city centre, within easy walking distance of restaurants and other amenities. There is also a free car park.
The decor was in parts in need of renewal and with the windows open the noise was significant - both from the Wakefield night life and some sort of fan next to the building. Wakefield Westgate, the main street closest to the hotel (50m) is a run down mess and the Friday and Saturday night drunks make it an unpleasant experience. The easy and rather familiar attitude of some of the staff ("hello mate can I help you") was not really professional and at some level is a little disrespectful.
Great location for a weekend on the drink
very good value for money.very nice italian restaurant attached to hotel which was very cinvenient.
A wet bed and carpets
Location very good; close to town and station. Receptionist good and efficient. Breakfast very good with excellent service. Bed comfortable and clean.
The only thing that marred my stay was the fact the floor had not been hoovered. Bathroom seemed fairly clean but the floor hadn't been cleaned and neither had the WC bowl. I hope this was a one off. I would stay again but if the cleanliness had not improved it would be my last time.
I liked how near it was to everything. Nice walk into town.
That we payed for a double room and got two singles put together!
Great Italian restaurant.
my room was dirty. Carpet had not been vacuumed in ages.
Hotel was in the perfect location clean and comfortable, would definitely stay again
