Reception staff helpful - when there!
Mattresses terrible - more like a hammock Reception not manned when needed No cook! Poor waiter having to do everything - including cook! Not that clean Whole experience pretty poor
Restaurant was very good. Both staff and the food was excellent. Room was very clean and spacious for a family room. Would recommend to friends and family.
Car park was small, however staff did help out with this minor problem.
Very close to railway station and centre of town. It is a bit dated and dark and could do with a bit of sparkle but the room was good as was all the amenities and the staff were very keen to facilitate my stay.
I had an executive double which had new bathroom fittings but the bathroom was tiny and felt very cramped.
restaurant and bar,very good
noise from fridge in bedroom
Good location, comfortable quiet room. Nice restaurant on the premises.
Cleanliness and size of room
Good value Location Attached restaurant
View from my room Shower didn't work
Location. Restaurant. People.
Very convenient location, breakfast good, helpful pleasant waitress.
Too expensive for lone traveller.
Good value and comfortable room. Very close to station and fairly close to the centre of Wakefield - also very convenient for local theatre that had an interesting selection of shows.
We thought about dinner at the attached restaurant but it seemed a bit noisy. The menu looked good so maybe we will try lunch there one day.
Location was good, all staff made you feel welcome, nice atmosphere enjoyed our stay and would stay again
It was in a brilliant location only a few minutes walk from where I needed to be. The was well equipped and clean.
good location comfortable room
checking in at the bar
Perfect position, nice bar and great breakfast! Nice single room, plenty of space!
Location and staff excellent, comfortable room, good value, great location. Would stay here again.
Needs more power points in the room.
York House is a very pleasant and comfortable hotel run by friendly, helpful people. I have stayed on several occasions and plan to return.
The room my friend slept in, 203 a single room, had a rather uncomfortable mattress! I intend asking for a voucher to use on my next trip by way of compensation.
Good greeting and payment arrangements Fridge and drinks in the room Nice restaurant and helpful waiters Lift
Poor selection of non cooked food at breakfast
everthing could not fault anything well recomended
cant say a bad word excellent hotel
The bed was comfortable
Door was loose and rattled every time someone else opened theirs; The shower head was loose so showering normally was impossible; Cooked full English breakfast was terrible, loads of baked beans, a few mushrooms, a sausage that was truly horrible and bacon that was too salty, fatty and grisly, all swimming in oil!!
Very close to train station, breakfast was served fairly quickly
Slightly grotty room, noisy fridge and broken switches. Radiator was hanging off
The only thing was we stay on floor 1 & the noise from upstairs floorboards were terrible apart from that very nice places & would definitely stay again
The food was excellent and the room was very comfortable.
Our room,202, overlooked the side and back of the Theatre Royal and was having evening shows so until after 11pm. the room was a bit noisy
Room very nice and great location
Absolutely shocking breakfast. Very basic, one cup of coffee, no fruit or yoghurt, next to raw bacon and eggs poached entirely in vinegar! Inedible.
Good value for money, friendly staff, great on-site restaurant.
Reception area could do with a face-lift, first impression of this hotel wasn't great but im pleased to say everything else was excellent considering I only paid £40.
shabby hotel, 2* quality! dark décor needs a revamp . Rubbish reception area, the waiter was given the job to check us in. room shabby
