Brilliant location - right next to bus station. Princes Street and Omni Centre are close by. Great staff. Very helpful. Great wifi in reception. Breakfast is OK.
No lift. No internet in rooms. Some rooms are sharing bathrooms. Except they are in public areas, so anyone can use what is supposed to be your bathroom. Does feel like a hostel. Reception is not 24hrs.
Very clean and modern with everything you need even razor and toothbrush and ironing board No drunken stag parties which is a must Gerry is friendly and a good character
Poor quality and very small portions served for a cooked breakfast
Situation very central. This is what my recommendation is based on
Pillows, poor breakfast service
No lift, not enough room lamp
Location was good for access to Station; and also to tram service
Noise from traffic and revellers at the front. Room felt stuffy
Friendly helpful staff. Hotel clean and bright and quiet. Excellent central location. Both Waverley station, and St Andrews Bus Station within easy walking distance, tram to and from airport terminates outside hotel front door.
Great location close to train, team & bus links. Perfect sized twin room for 2 people. Extremely clean with lovely little en-suite with great shower. Very comfortable bed although a 2nd pillow would have been a nice option. Great value for money only wish we didn't have to leave so early and could have stayed for breakfast.
There was tea making facilities but it would have been good to have some extra milks/sugars & teabags. Although I'm sure we could have asked for more but it was late. 2 pillows per person would have also been a great option.
the staffs are really nice
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good. A lovely central position.
It is a shame that it appears a little tatty, a coat of paint etc would turn this into a really nice B&B
Great location and price, friendly staff and good facilities.
Location was convenient. Cooked breakfast was good and staff were friendly.
No lift. Struggled with my luggage taking it up to the second floor. Bed not very comfortable. Wifi only available down stairs. No remote for the television.
Location (very close to the bus station), close to shopping areas, tram to the airport is basically in front of. The old town is within walking distance (but up hill). Staff really nice and helpful. It was nice to see inside of one of those impressive Edinburgh city houses.
The room could be a bit more clean, we noticed dust on the furniture and there was a strange smell in one part of the room. The room was really really dark, but I would guess not all are.
Location is great
The bathroom facility is poor. Shower water is small.
value for money - got more than expected very comfortable and made me feel welcome (tea/coffee and water ready at my room's table) excellent location esp. if you travel to EDI bus station (literally a couple of steps from the station and 5 mins to Waverley Bridge)
york street too busy and windows face it so get ready for street noise
I liked the friendly and very funny staff, The locataion was fantasic, it's literally a 10-15 min walk to old town if you wanted to go that way, The property was very clean, Surrounded by lovely restaurants, If you have a late flight, but have to check out early, they will hold your bag in a secure room, which was brilliant. All in all..it was a great place to stay!
The location in New Town was close to everything we wanted to explore and was easy to get to from the airport. The new airport tram stops about 100m away which was most convenient. Our room was facing away from the road so was relatively quiet. The street facing rooms must be quite noisy as we could hear buses, rubbish collection, revellers throughout the night but not to the point of losing sleep excessively.
Shabby appearance in bathroom. Lack of building wide WiFi, Most people needed to hang out in the lobby to get a decent connection. Servicing of rooms was minimalist. The daily tariff seems high for the quality of accommodation, however we were there shortly after the Fringe festival so perhaps the peak season proving was still in effect.
Central location. Friendly and helpful staff.
1. The television in my room did not have remote control. When I tried to operate the TV using the buttons on the set, I could not get a signal. 2. Internet was only available on the ground floor reception area, which was cramped and often noisy. 3. The showers can only be operated if you switch them on by pulling a cord. I did not discover this until I was checking out and had to leave without taking a shower. 4. The windows are old fashioned and not well insulated against the noise from the busy street which the hotel faces.
A warm welcome from the owner, a clean and pleasant room, close to all amenities.
Pubic hair in sink , sweat stained spare pillows, terrible breakfast. Vastly overpriced. Some staff could barely speak English
Good staff and friendly/ clean and tidy breakfast area the b&b was good thanks
Bed was a bit uncomfortable
extremely noisy; ugly furniture; feeble shower; industrial-style carpeting;
8 days at location Breakfast was presented well,
Cost of room was inflated . Street noise was loud all hours of night. Towels were not changed unless you asked. Beds were not made and room was not vacuumed .toilet paper or soap only when asked for
