Staff were friendly and helpful

Drinks in bar were extortionate, so didn't even look at restaurants, went out to eat.

Location

Great position when visiting York, bus in and out of city across the road.

Beds were amazingly comfortable, food was fab and staff were lovely

Excellent reception staff. Exceptionally helpful. Great Breakfast. Second stay for the races and will be back next year.

Great bathroom ,with a comfortable & clean room. Excellent breakfast with plenty of variety to choose from. Plenty of car parking.

After making an enquiry,we were informed that towels are changed every other day.After day two we had to request a change of towels.we were also told that dirty towels were to be put in the bath if dirty------are we mind readers !!

Bar was too expensive and room service ridiculously expensive.

Restaurant service like Fawlty Towers! It's the first time ive ever been eye balled and threatened when asking for a pot of tea after 20 minutes of waiting. Evening meal in the restaurant was cold and expensive too

my husband and i liked the freindleness of all the staff and it was all very clean and pleasant accomadation.

Staff were very attentive and polite. Room was a good size and hotel pool and facilities were of a high standard. Views over racecourse were brilliant. Dinner and breakfast were also very good :)

changing rooms and area around pool could of done with a bit of a tidy, quite a lot of used towels around.

The room was spacious, nice view. Fantastic breakfast. Fantastic facilities

Pubic hairs on bathroom floor and bath. Room was freezing and the aircon didn't produce hot air and the radiator on its own wasn't enough.

All in all was ok but not five star!!! Staff at time very nice except woman on reception never even asked if ow stay was good!!!

They said 40 min walk to town!!! Was told to park in a space bye staff to find next morning a note to say not to park there dont like people touching my £30000 car!! With notes should if rang my room!!!

Hotel was busy and in total chaos. Evening meal, soup arrived as stated, good, main meal was vegetable biriani, I could not eat it, it was rice with some frozen veg in and no sauce just far too much chilli powder , too hot no taste and ne sauce, sent it back uneaten, they were off to get my desert, 45 minutes later it had not arrived and all staff were clearing tables and not serving. I had to ask about desert, but after another wait decided not to bother, they didnt charge for meal, but I was left hungry and very disappointed as I had to watch my daughter eat her meal which was ok but not worth the askiung price. I hVE stayed all over the world and used mARRIOT before many times but would question using them Again, indeed I have a new year booking with them in America, but they would not get away with poof service or food with the Americans.

Excellent staff very friendly +helpful. Great food. Room spacious and very clean. Love it when tea making facilities are in room. Flat screen tv.

Reception was good especially Gus. He so so very polite, friendly and very helpful. Nice big room and nice big bathroom. Windows that opened. We didn't eat there so we cannot comment on the food.

I like the location of the hotel. It is lovely situated next to the race course. Lovely spacious room. Very comfortable beds although I was cold. There should have been blankets and extra pillows in the wardrobe. Lots of nice tea/coffee and biscuits and toiletries.

Room 146 is next door to a linen store room. We were woken at 7.15am both mornings with continuous clashing and banging of doors. Staff going in and out. We were given a £50 reduction which was good but we really would have enjoyed a couple of lies in! You need another toasting machine! There was a long queue at the toaster both mornings which made it feel like a cafeteria.

Room cold - heating not working + small portable heater not big enough to warm the room. Bathroom freezing!!!!!!!!!!

The room and beds were comfy and the food was great especially the breakfast!

The lack of family changing rooms at the pool was terrible as I had to take my 7 year old son into the female changing rooms and was confronted with several naked women. Rather awkward!
