Overall look and decor no tea or coffee facility in the room
Receptionist appeared genuinely interested in our plans and her interaction was exceptional. Location great with a bracing 40 minute walk into the city just what the doctor ordered.
Staff were fantastic. Very helpful and friendly. Facilities available were very good. The bed was extremely comfortable. Room service for breakfast was bang on time.
We found the hotel very convenient for York, left the car in the carpark and used the buses into town. The buses were very regular and ran late into the evening. The staff were very helpful and it was a good experience all round.
We felt the bar was a little too small especially if a conference was taking place but apart from that it was the ideal place for what we wanted.
pool gym, views over the racecourse warming friendly staff breakfast and excellent links into town
I would of expected maybe a evening meal and breakfast for £199 the fact when you book they don't tell you about the extra £45 charge in case you charge anything to your room
The staff were generally helpful
The penthouse was old fashioned, cold and smelt of drains, yet pricey. The location is a bit too far out of town.
Lovely location - near to bus stop so didn't have to use the car. Excellent accommodation and very friendly staff.
No signage for the rooms of 900's until you actually arrive at the lift - which is not signed either. very confusing. we were told to go down the corridor ( very long) until you arrive at the wall then get the lift. This is okay once you know were the lift is! It is concealed slightly in that you have to turn right to find it.
good facilities ,services and comfortable room
poor wifi, cannot sign in with my check in information...location is quiet, but quite far form the town...
Hotel was fairly good Pool and hot tub very good staff are great
the hotel looked like a hospital with damage to all door frames and bad decor. Bed was uncomfy and the whole hotel was cold. And the location was bad Do not visit York it is the most expensive rip off and dirty place i have ever visited. cost me £12 a day just for parking was not impressed.
Clean, tidy and very helpful staff. excellent leisure facility's
I do like a pint the beer could be a better pint
Beds are comfy, it's good to have a swimming pool/jacuzzi area. Nice view over the racecourse and easy to drive to then get a cab into York.
The food and drinks in the bar are very overpriced for the quality (food just about OK and the soda, coke etc. all were flat). The swimming pool area and jacuzzi area could do with some TLC to update it - tiling looking quite old now and there needs to be more jets in the jacuzzi to make it into an actual one and not a vague bubble bath.
Most of hotel
Cooked self serve breakfast could have been better but passable.
Staff, food and size of room excellent x leisure facilities also very good.
Only one criticism - felt it was rather high cost wise - when I booked the room I presumed the price was what I'd be paying - however there was then a VAT bill which took the cost to over £200 - which was without breakfast!! - for one night's stay seemed excessive.
Warmth of the hotel and room, heating switched on late and switched off early, even though a very cold day. Built in fan heater in the room was next to useless, noisy, requires updating. Breakfast in the restaurant lukewarm, left waiting at restaurant reception on both mornings. Most certainly would not stay at this Marriott again.
everything my 4th stay highly recommended
VERY comfortable bed, lovely room, fabulous breakfast with lovely views over the race course. Only about a 30 min walk or short bus ride into the city. Free parking.
The bar staff were great!
The room was awful! Git a less than budget room for the price of a superior!!
Staff were friendly and the leisure facilities were peaceful.
The lift was tiny and everything was far to expensive.
The view. The food. The location.
If you get put in a room above a function room, and there is a party, it is very loud
The hotel is very luxurious and the staff are fantastic.
Buffet style breakfast with good selection to choose from.
We had to set the air conditioning to 18 and it was still too warm in our room, to the point of being uncomfortable! I wouldn't like to stay in one of the ground floor rooms during the warmer summer months!
Close to York City
Smelly shower curtain Rubbish shower Uncompfy bed Overpriced
Rooms were tired , beds uncomfortable
