York House Hotel  

We stayed at the hotel when attending a family wedding.Very clean, with modern bathroom and attractive decor. Friendly, helpful staff. Fairly good breakfast - although my husband would have liked another sausage.

It was not the hotelier's fault but on our first night we were woken at 1.15am. by unbelievably inconsiderate guests who proceeded to party in their room (next door to ours) until 4.15am. Fortunately, they were not there on our second night, and we enjoyed a blissfully quiet sleep! The hotelier was sympathetic when we mentioned the issue the following day and said that had we come down to reception and rung the bell someone would have dealt with the problem. Shame we didn't!

We found the York House Hotel very comfortable , excellent breakfast and staff helpful and friendly. It was convenient to town centre, beach bus and eating places.

Great location right near the beach and local amenities, it would be lovely in summer. Room was big and airy and even had a couch aswell as microwave and fridge which came in handy over a weeks stay.

This hotel provides excellent value for money. The rooms are of good size,well equipped and decorated,serviced daily to a high standard. The breakfasts are very good and offer a widw choice. Excellent attentive and friendly service. Highly recommended.

Everything about York House Hotel was excellent. I had an extremely pleasant stay there & it was a pity I was only booked in for 1 night! My room was lovely, the hotel decor very stylish & the staff were nothing short of superb. Breakfast was delicious, and the location of the hotel is excellent. Top notch.

We went after a disastrous caravan stay at Whitley Bay Park Resorts. The room was spacious and the children had an adjoining room so we had some privacy which you don't often get with family rooms. The hotel was modern and well looked after. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We used Whitley Bay as a base although we did do a Treasure Trail there which was very interesting. The Playhouse is a few minutes walk down the road. Overall it was a lovely place to stay

A well run Hotel, excellent customer care, breakfast outstanding. The whole team, owner to cleaner, managed to create a home from home feel whilst we were there. we would use the Hotel again.

The model works - excellent B&B with minimal self catering facilities. It is an ideal location for access to the coast, countryside and city. It is also dog friendly which is brilliant. Recent improvements have made it modern and fresh and with free wi-fi it has everything the traveller needs.

Very little - the bed was a little firm but not uncomfortable and we slept well.

The Hotel has the charm of a sea side B & B with the facilities of a good 3 star hotel. The room I stayed in was excellent providing a kitchenette with microwave and fridge and an area with settee and armchair and a lovely modern bathroom with rain shower. The overall experience was great and the proprietor was very friendly and helpful.

Parking is limited but there is close parking on the local streets

Everything. The stylish interior design, large spacious rooms, consideration and thought that has gone into the guest experience. The owners are wonderful hosts and operators. Larger hotels could learn a lot from this small perfect example of hospitality in the North East of England.

Level of cleanliness and the freshness of the decor. Our room was quirky with steps down to the kitchenette area and ensuite. Quality and choice at breakfast was excellent.

I felt that it was an excellent hotel. The staff were professional, yet it felt homely. The food in the resturant was excellent. The room was first class. I would stay there frequently if I had the need to visit the area more often.

York House is a very good bed&breakfast -top quality.The bedrooms are spacious,clean,good facilities having a 'fridge,microwave,crockery etc inthe bedroom The bathroom is modern with walk-in showers and ,again, very clean. The breakfast is top quality with plenty of variety -to suit all tastes. All over an enjoyable stay.
