Firstly I was called to be advised the apartment I booked was not ready, as it was the night before I had no option but to take their next nearest location. I was promised an email confirmation 3 times which was never received. I kept having to call them. On arrival at the complex, the reception (not employed by Zen) had no idea about the keys and I was made to wait in reception whilst he and the company had a backwards and forwards discussion about the keys. There are no signs for Zen apartments, no staff in the location and they wanted to charge me £200 security deposit! No apologies for the problems! What the hell!! The sofa and beds were all uncomfortable and one of the toilets did not flush properly! Awful service, never booking with them again.

The location is not as advertised, the rooms are not accurately described, it is not a real hotel simply vacant apartments that are poorly maintained and managed. On par with staying in a hostel without any of the fun.

When making the booking it was not cleary stated in advance that free cancellation is not available (the precise sum to be withdrawn for early cancellation was not indicated) - it appeared only after the booking was already made. We got to know of a change in our dwelling only one day prior to leaving for London and only in response to our own inquiry regarding the check-in procedure. Instead of a two bedroom apartment we were given a three bedroom house, which was a very fine alternative since it was more or less in the same area. Yet this would have caused certain disappointment in case our youngest child would be half a year younger (toddler age) given the fact that the house had three floors with steep staircase. On the whole the communication with the company via the booking.com system was not very successful - responses to our inquiries were provided selectively and belatedly; the given phone number was several times on an auto-reply mode (yet, when we learnt of the direct e-mail address, the communication was much more efiicient). There was a lack of certain utensils in the kitchen area (e.g. a salad-bowl, a wooden spatula for the frying pan, washing tablets for the dishwasher; the shovel was broken). It took some time to figure out which switches on the wall enable the cooker-hood and the electric range. There was no hair-drier available. The shower on the upper floor was slightly leaking. One of the beds on the 2nd floor had some missing screws that would hold it firmly together.
The area was quiet (except for passing airplanes, but this didn't bother us much) and nice - with apartment houses, marina with nice private boats, and with new office buildings, shopping mall and metro and railway stations within a walking distance. The house was very nice and clean, with toilets on each of the three floors and bedrooms on the 2nd and the 3rd. There were some extra blankets and pillows available. The early check-in and late check-out (though for an additional cost) went very smoothly when the procedure was known.

There was a problem with refunding the deposit but finally was resolved with the staff of the property.
The location was pretty close by most of the attractions, a quiet and beautiful zone (Canary Wharf).

Everything was very poor. We had four plates in four different designs. We could not use any pot or a pan because they were demolished. I don´t know why we had to pay a deposit.
The apartment has enough space and a wonderful view . We have received our deposit within 4 days. This was great!

Apartment was smaller than I expected (as it was described as luxury) and giving £200 as a deposit is ridiculous. It has taken too much time to get my deposit back.

In need of complete re-decoration, damp in the bathrooms, fan hanging off the ceiling, kitchen poorly equipped, we had to buy teaspoons and a washing up bowl. Absence of fire extinguisher and blanket means probably does not meet fire regs. Limited, stained furniture just about adequate for the three of us but sleeps 5!
Spacious and warm. Relatively cheap.

Flat stank of cigarette smoke. Mattresses uncomfortable. Deposit was actually taken from my account instead of being pre authorised. It was not returned within 72 hours and I had to ring three times to get it returned.

Wasn't sure about having to pay such a large damages deposit, plus get charged 3% to use a debit card for this purpose. You don't get that back. They will also not refund the deposit for 3 days - why? Needs a bit of an update in the kitchen and bathrooms - fine for 1 night though.
Great location, extremely spacious apartment, good value for money for 1 night. Probably need showers etc to be fully working if staying longer.

The bed in one of the bedrooms was broken when we arrvied and it took two days for it to be replaced (after some broken promises and mulitiple phone calls); lots of other broken, scratched or stained furniture - the apartments need a renovation badly.

Directions were not clear - we spent a lot of time looking for an office to collect keys to the apartment when we should have been looking for a representative from Zen who came to meet us.
Brilliant location for visiting the 02. Apartment had everything we needed, very clean and comfortable. 24-hour manned front desk made it feel secure.

Change of arrangements not notified to us. No customer service appreciation. Unreasonable staff. Charged to credit card without agreement to changes or terms and agreement breached. In legal hands. Not recommending very stressful experience.

The free upgrade to Ability House was great, the location and ease of access to the DLR and tube was fab, the views from the balcony were incredible and the place itself was just lovely.

No storage facilities for your luggage and checking in later than 20:00 will cause a late checkin fee..
Apartment is very close to the DLR, only a five minute walk. From South Qauy you can be in the city center within 20 minutes. Apartment is very spacious and enough facilities.

There was a number of small issues i.e. broken/missing window blinds, broken heating controls. Also we were hassled out of the apartment, check out was at 10.00 and the staff were knocking on the door at 5 to!

Place was very dirty - stains on the soft furnitures, dust, hairs in bedrooms and bathrooms, mold. Keep in mind that there's no way you can leave your luggage if you arrive early or leave late - we asked, and we were told that to leave our luggage we need to pay for early checkout, and it is pricey. It was kind of bad surprise, given that it never happened to us before. Also, you will be asked to take your trash yourselves - another thing I find really ridiculous. Especially since a guy comes to check the apartment and he sits and looks at you while you throw it but doesn't move a finger to help.
Really beautiful view; Spacious, with a kitchen and sitting room. It is hard to get a place that big for this price in London.

The balcony door wouldn't properly close, so there was a bit of a draught.
I was working in Canary Wharf. It was a 5 minute walk away over the footbridge. The apartment was well equipped and much larger than I had expected. Very close to the South Quay DLR, so not too far to carry luggage.
