The air-conditioned rooms are large and clean. This worked for us as a stopover, the airport being less than a mile away. Pleasant staff.
Very limited Breakfast - no cereals, tiny pieces of fruit (no choices). The extra charge for a small cooked breakfast was a bit cheeky. On request, a simple evening meal can be provided but better to go to the nearby beach restaurant (expensive) or into town.
Near the airport and a quick drive to Sandals La Source the next morning.
Hardest bed I have ever slept in the floor may have been softer!
The proximity to the Airport was ideal as I needed to get a connecting flight the next morning to sister Island Carriacou.
The price included breakfast but I had to leave before the set time of 7.30 am and no other provision was made. I was charged a taxi fare to the airport. However, I noticed on the promotion leaftlet that this was supposed to be free.
It's 1 km to the airport, has AC, and the staff is friendly. It's easy to get a bus to.
AC was very noisy, they seemed surprised I actually wanted to eat there, and the rooms (stayed there twice), are barren. Forget the "kitchen". It's pretty useless.
opted to stay here for low price and kitchen when other listed places were much pricier and offered little for cooking ability. overall pretty clean and just minutes down the road from the airport. around the corner is groom's beach, small and quiet and a bit of parking if you have a car. full filling light breakfast daily inc for using booking.com! large bedroom and comfortable beds, for us at least.
limited parking on a steep hill, if you have a car. if you stay in lower level rooms, prepare for a short but VERY steep walk up driveway to office/parking. ac went out on sat morn and not back running until monday about 7PM=too long and no adjustment to our fee. no ceiling fans in rooms and sleeping with no ac/windows open was very loud due to road traffic. ac cold, when working, but only one speed=slow/takes long to cool down space. lighting is poor in all rooms and no outlets in bathroom. location is pretty far from most places.ultimately did not need kitchen just fridge.
Aggressive attitude from owner to requests. Facilities in room bore no resembalnce to advertised features.
Good value for money. Clean and comfortable room. Friendly and helpful staff.
Large appartment. friendly staff.
Kitchen equipment. Coffeemaker but no filters. Water cooker but no tea bags. No dish cloths. No salt, no pepper. Bathroom, sometimes no waterpressure, no shampoo but only one little piece of soap. Lighting on more places out of order. A/C and refrigerator make a lot of noise. Far from shops and (good) restaurants. Island tour, only aim of the owner is making a lot of hours/money.
Proximity to the airport (very close + 3 big jets a week = quiet.) Served meals. Great shower --- needed that. Be aware, good or bad, hotels are quite expensive in Grenada. If you want charm and comfort, double the price you'd pay here. If you want a good restaurant on site, triple it.
The AC was rattly and loud, and began to quit in the middle of the night. No fan anywhere. Breakfast is toast & fruit, nothing else available Big kitchen, but I would have had to buy everything including salt & pepper to cook anything. Think microwaving.
Location and access to public transportation
Good A/C Comfortable beds Nice spacious room Lovely staff
Noise next door as walls very very thin Location a bit isolated Price changed from booking with booking.com
Every thing. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent hotel taxi service. Big thank you to Debbie,Francis and all the staff
Great accommodation for overnight stop after arriving late at airport.
Location was good. Aircon worked.
Access to room with heavy bags was poor. No breakfast offered. No bar facilities. No eating facilities.
Lovely big common area with nice view. Friendly helpful staff. Rooms were spacious with large fridge.
Beds were hard and the pillows even harder.
Everything was comfortable and some days we just didn't bother to leave the room. It was cozy and very self sufficient. No complaints.
The continental breakfast was disappointing especially for the cost.
View from balcony.
All prices for drinks, food etc and charges are in US dollars. It was EC $400 per night,a lot more than expected and quoted, i could have stayed in a much nicer place for what i paid there.
It was located close to the airport on the main road. Catching a cab or the SGU student shuttle was easy with the stop a short walk away. We had a nice corner unit with a balcony and a view of the ocean off in the distance. It was a private area and quiet. Debbie, the owner, was helpful and very approachable. We corresponded through email and she answered all of my questions. It was comforting to know I had a local person that I could ask questions in preparation of our trip.
We checked in later in the evening, however the a/c unit wasn't turned on in advance of our arriving so the room was quite warm. Luckily, the a/c unit worked well and the unit was cool enough in an hour.
To be fair the time spent there was the time I was sleeping :). But had been a couple of times when I had a drink at the bar and a chat with the owners, Debbie and Bishop, lovely people by the way! The room was very big and clean. Very quiet even though was close to the airport. I would recommend LA Heliconia! I surely will go back! Thank you
Debbie is a wonderful person she can advice you anytime. Would recommend this hotel it has all you need for a pleasant stay.
Spacious intimate rooms, full useful kitchen, located on the main road, access to public transport, friendly staff,
It wasn't in walking distance to business places e.g. shops, supermarkets etc.
first night it was not aircondition in the room, WC and dush was cloused. It was better sleep outside, and I did pay full price for this terible night.
The staff were nice The apartment was clean I asked for my linen to be changed as I felt that the sheet wasn't clean ,and it was done ,no fuss
Didn't think much of the breakfast choice I was not picked up from airport as promised ,and had to pay to make wat to hotel not reimbursed and still had to pay to be taken to airport ,I have travelled quite a bit and have always been met at airport and transported back to airport . The hotel though near to the airport was isolated from shops ,and action
The location is great only if you want to be very close to the airport (we walked there though if you have heavy bags you might not want to) for an early flight in the morning off Grenada. The lady who owns it is awesome and they managed to give us toast and fruit for breakfast before a 7:30 pickup.
Be aware they charge a hefty late check-in fee which for us coming in at 9:30 pm was about half the cost of the room itself! They call the room apartments but they really are just rooms with microwaves, no glasses or kitchen stuff at all so its not like you can make anyhting. Think Days Inn in the US. Thin futon-like mattress.
Friendly staff tended to our a/c problem the day it was reported
Location, huge water bug in room, a/c not working first night. Remote location -- far from town, although on the bus route.
