Location was good. Aircon worked.
Access to room with heavy bags was poor. No breakfast offered. No bar facilities. No eating facilities.
Lovely big common area with nice view. Friendly helpful staff. Rooms were spacious with large fridge.
Beds were hard and the pillows even harder.
Everything was comfortable and some days we just didn't bother to leave the room. It was cozy and very self sufficient. No complaints.
The continental breakfast was disappointing especially for the cost.
View from balcony.
All prices for drinks, food etc and charges are in US dollars. It was EC $400 per night,a lot more than expected and quoted, i could have stayed in a much nicer place for what i paid there.
It was located close to the airport on the main road. Catching a cab or the SGU student shuttle was easy with the stop a short walk away. We had a nice corner unit with a balcony and a view of the ocean off in the distance. It was a private area and quiet. Debbie, the owner, was helpful and very approachable. We corresponded through email and she answered all of my questions. It was comforting to know I had a local person that I could ask questions in preparation of our trip.
We checked in later in the evening, however the a/c unit wasn't turned on in advance of our arriving so the room was quite warm. Luckily, the a/c unit worked well and the unit was cool enough in an hour.
To be fair the time spent there was the time I was sleeping :). But had been a couple of times when I had a drink at the bar and a chat with the owners, Debbie and Bishop, lovely people by the way! The room was very big and clean. Very quiet even though was close to the airport. I would recommend LA Heliconia! I surely will go back! Thank you
Debbie is a wonderful person she can advice you anytime. Would recommend this hotel it has all you need for a pleasant stay.
Spacious intimate rooms, full useful kitchen, located on the main road, access to public transport, friendly staff,
It wasn't in walking distance to business places e.g. shops, supermarkets etc.
first night it was not aircondition in the room, WC and dush was cloused. It was better sleep outside, and I did pay full price for this terible night.
The staff were nice The apartment was clean I asked for my linen to be changed as I felt that the sheet wasn't clean ,and it was done ,no fuss
Didn't think much of the breakfast choice I was not picked up from airport as promised ,and had to pay to make wat to hotel not reimbursed and still had to pay to be taken to airport ,I have travelled quite a bit and have always been met at airport and transported back to airport . The hotel though near to the airport was isolated from shops ,and action
The location is great only if you want to be very close to the airport (we walked there though if you have heavy bags you might not want to) for an early flight in the morning off Grenada. The lady who owns it is awesome and they managed to give us toast and fruit for breakfast before a 7:30 pickup.
Be aware they charge a hefty late check-in fee which for us coming in at 9:30 pm was about half the cost of the room itself! They call the room apartments but they really are just rooms with microwaves, no glasses or kitchen stuff at all so its not like you can make anyhting. Think Days Inn in the US. Thin futon-like mattress.
Friendly staff tended to our a/c problem the day it was reported
Location, huge water bug in room, a/c not working first night. Remote location -- far from town, although on the bus route.
I admired the easy going and respectful nature of your people ,to be honest in my 5 day stay I did hear a profanity
fares on the bus service fluctuated for most of the times ,my feelings were that these operators wanted to exploit us when they realized that we were trinbagonians ,that was a bit disappointing after all we are neighbors
I only spent one night there but the owner Debbie and her husband helped me a lot with getting my Grenadian driver's license and rented me a car. Great people! The room was clean and the wifi connection was excelent. It's also very close to the airport, so you don't need to take a taxi.
I took a taxi from the airport, and the ride lasted less than a minute but cost US$ 10. Of course it's no one's fault but mine, so this is just to advise people that you don't need a taxi to get there from the airport (unless you can't/don't want to walk half a mile).
The staff was great - they convinced us to walk to the airport and save the $10 cab fare (it's an easy 10-minute walk) and gave us the fixings for toast and coffee, since our flight was before breakfast.
There's not much of a view, and the beach is a 15-20 minute walk away. For us, these were very minor inconveniences.
Restaurant -very pleasant and welcome breeze . nice and bright.quiet
1.The Mr not really up to the mark. Eg (one of many) head down on folded arms on dining table - asleep. I wanted matches had to ask nerous times. Flopping onto my bed when they took case to. My room. Etc etc etc - his wife put him straight. 2. the bathroom stank strongly of ammonia. the wastepipe from the toilet bowl was horribly stained. the toilet moved whenever you sat on it. the cleaning staff MUST know about smell etc yet i was given that room. so very v.unpleasant.
Very conveniently located near the airport and a very short drive (or moderate length walk) to a beautiful beach. This property was very comfortable and well cared for by the owner. The staff was very helpful and they provide driving transportation at a reasonable charge. Although it is not on the beach, it is less than a half mile from a fabulous beach and the best restaurant in the area or perhaps on the island. You will not be disappointed for the price and particularly if you do not need to stay on the beach.
Not located immediately adjacent to the water.
The staff was very helpful. Nice balcony. It is an excellent location within walking distance from airport.
The appartment/ rooms were well equipped, the location was quiet and the wifi signal strong and consistent. Debbie, Francis and their staff went out of their way to make sure my expressed needs were catered for.
I hadn't realised how far it was from Grand Anse Only EC$2.50 but that where the nearest supermarket is, and not all the buses would do the full journey back which was frustrating. A shame there's only AC in the bedroom which meant I spent all my indoor time in there
The hosts were great (Debbie in particular). Proximity to the airport was a bonus especially if you are arriving late into the area. Gorgeous rooms.
Too far out from Grand Anse and St Georges.
Owner very helpful
Debbie the co owner with her husband Francis are excellent hosts.I travel on my own and they made me feel as if I was visiting close friends. The location near the airport with shuttle service to and from which was a plus. The hotel location Is a 15 minute bus ride to St George and the beach is a pleasant 10 minute walk from the hotel.I felt safe at all times with the knowledge that a pickup by staff was available if I was out for the evening . Good value overall is a 15 minute bus ride into StGeorge
Nothing comes to mind
Very, very clean hotel that we stayed at one evening on our way back to NYC. Although not near a beach location, this was a very nice place to stay in Grenada that I would recommend to all. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This hotel is best for those who need a lot of space as the rooms are basically apartments with a full kitchen. The place was spotless! Very impressed!
The hotel is kind of isolated from shops, beaches though it is close to the airport which is a plus. A bus or taxi can get you where you need to go pretty quick.
I chose this hotel because of location. I was visiting St. George's University, which is just down the street. My package included a Caribbean Continental breakfast, aka fruit, toast & jam, and coffee. I have to comment that Debbie, the owner, was incredible! She was most helpful and very kind. She made me appreciate my stay!
The wifi is decent, bed was firm, small TV and only one AC unit, in the bedroom. The pricing was a little over priced seeing how there was not maid service, certain amenities that should be included when charging a resort-like amount. There is only one restaurant within walking distance (the Beach House) which makes cabs the only way to get around.
Frequency and low cost of getting anywhere was fantastic. Owners/staff were very knowledgable and helpful.
