The value for price paid is off the charts. Absolutely beautiful.
I'd recommend having your own transport or renting the scooters on site, as it's quite off the grid.
We loved our stay at Mango Bay! We were there for 4 days and it was just what we needed. Absolute tranquility, private beach, excellent vegetarian food at their onsite restaurant and perfectly clean and comfortable rooms with a view from the balcony that kept us mesmerized. It's a short walk to the main road to catch a bus ride to town. Takes about 20min to get to town. The busses stop driving at 8pm so getting a ride back with a taxi can be expensive if you don't have a car. We spent one day with Syisha, the owner of mango bay, and he took us to the 7 sisters waterfall. We had a wonderful time and will definitely return to mango bay when in Grenada.
The only thing that bothered us was the distance to get back from town and busses stop going early 8pm so getting a taxi back or leaving town before 8pm was not great but at the same time mango bay's location is perfect as it is secluded and tranquil and the nature is amazing. So maybe mango bay should offer guests a cheaper ride back when after 8pm, it won't happen often because guests will want to stay at mango bay most nights as the restaurant has wonderful food and after dinner you can just walk back to your cottage and have a drink on your balcony and enjoy the sounds of nature.
Loved the vegan menu. Mountain bike rentals.
Loved the amazing ocean view and colorful setting with all the flowers. We had so much fun snorkeling right off the beach; I almost added to the saltiness of the water when we had to get out our final time. We appreciated the care Peggy took to have our room ready and to have someone pick us up from the airport. So sorry we missed seeing her as she was in California while we were there. Kidduci made us some wonderful meals. We stayed 2 days, went on the Island Windjammer for 6 days, and then 2 more days at Mango Cottages. Not nearly long enough!!!
One little problem: the hot water knob in the shower broke our last two days. But we really didn't mind, though others might.
1. AMAZING views!!! Can't imagine better. 2. Great snorkeling right off the almost private beach. 3. Great staff. Kidduci (sp?) was a great chef and very helpful with anything we needed. We're sorry we missed Peggy (I had communicated with her prior to our visit), but she was vacationing in California while we were there. She did arrange to have transportation waiting for us at the airport.
Limited hot water, but not really a problem. Certainly didn't bother us much - but could be a concern for others.
fantastic reasonably priced food - as two vegans we were spoilt, but for anyone the food and views are brilliant. Very helpful staff and great location if you are looking for tranquility, beautiful views, privacy and want to see some of the island outside of Grand Anse. Couldnt fault them
The location, the food, the views and the friendly staff.
The wi fi came and went, but probably not to blame the management.
170 steps to a secluded beach, no TV....... paradise!
The location and accommodations are peaceful and relaxing. The view is amazing. The owners are a pleasure to work with. I only had two meals - one excellent the other so,so - probably because I was the only diner that evening.
It is a little pricey for taxi $30.00 each way from St. George's and you'd benefit from having a car in that parish for exploring. I'd suggest having provisions for eating in you cottage. It's 183 steps to the beach down very steep stairs and that may put some folks off.
Nice view of the ocean from balcony. Quiet location and secluded beach. Well equipped kitchen.
Very limited parking space for cars. Many and steep steps down to the beach.
Very unpretentious and casual place. Secluded and quiet: perfect for a getaway or a romantic vacation. The view is spectacular. You can eat the food that the staff prepares (all vegan) or get your own from the market in St.Goerge's and cook it in the little kitchen. The cottages have stairs to their own beach which is quite nice: isolated and beautiful. They also provide ride to the airport (at a lower price than regular cabs) upon request and answered all of our numerous, and sometimes, silly questions. The cabins are incredibly cute and clean. Rent Mango Bay Cottages and support this local business (it's only been open with its current owner for 2 years). Highly recommend! p.s. despite its location, there is no need to rent a car as the local buses run pretty efficiently. All you have to do is walk to the main road :)
