Air con did not work. The bathroom was a joke, to sit on the toilet you had to hang onto the sink, your legs had to fit under the sink. Hot warer would run in the shower then stop after 2 mins, then run cold for 2 mins till it got hot again. The lift broke down and we stayed on the 3rd floor. 74 steps up. B/fast asked we have bacon eggs tommatoes toast what do you want. No other choice, no cerials,no fruit. Fry up or nothing. I would never go there agaib.

Location, in Gibraltar, very close to the cable car to the top of the rock, also close to the active part of downtown. A throw back to an English hotel from the '50 s, no renovations, no new furniture, no new plumbing. Adequate, and a little odd. Fabulous view from our room. Very small elevator, with unreliable door closing, no English newspaper, front desk staff not very interested.

Location and friendly staff The old and worn out appearance of the hotel (inside and out). And, by the way, the same goes for Gibraltar!

We had room 69 which looked out down Main Street and out over the Straits which was good. The bed was clean and comfortable, and the room was spacious. The greeting on arrival was good and the service in the bar good. The hotel is a little dated and some things need refurbishing. The windows in our room need fixing, and behind the wardrobe next to it needs cleaning. The bathroom is a little cramped. The breakfast staff, particularly the man who seemedt to be in charge, were a little officious, and that spoiled the experience.

I loved the views of the harbour from my balcony. I loved being able to just gaze in awe at the magnificent birdlife soaring past my balcony, up to the heights, morning and evening, even watched them during the night. The room was much larger than I expected for the price--thank you. I just loved being able to watch the life of the harbour from my balcony - everything from private yachts to container ships to oilrigs going by --talk about the world coming to me. Wow, such a busy harbour. I loved its proximity to bus routes and good restaurants. Its only metres from the cable car to the top. the staff response to emergency lighting when the town was blacked out during the big storm--made sure guests had some form of room lighting. well done. The very narrow steps- a problem for me with dickie knees. the lift is very individual, isn't it? the placement of the WC in my bathroom was 'interesting', what was the plumber thinking?? the staff were very 'short' - while assisting with my enquiries i certainly felt that the responses were abrupt and that i was taking up their valuable time. i am not sure if this was not a misperception of their actions due to language differences on my behalf, but i found myself only approaching staff as a last resort.
