Hotel is perched on a cliff face overlooking a picturesque bay. Sea view rooms are definitely worth it!
Very romantic restaurant terrace
The buffet breakfast was very expensive. Not much choice.
Suite had fantastic balcony looking out to med. Very comfortable room, with well equipted kitchen.
Vet noisy when function on, I had request a quite room and indeed we were on the 5th floor and on the other side of hotel but still could hear quite clearly. For a 4 starr hotel staff were not very profesional.
the view and facilities. Rooms were great.
The swimming pool closed too early. We booked 4 rooms and al four were on different floors. Lack of elevators to all the rooms. Entrance to the beach-area and restaurants at the sea closed too early.
Decor, food, mould
Complained of dripping pipe off above balcony, although maintenance man and duty manager attended problem not solved. Complained again in the morning at checkout no offer of an apology or discount. Walls paper thin.
Taxi service isn't efficient, especially when booking one to get to airport on time. No private beach available
Loved being on the rock
Vwry tired obviously preparing for the upgrade !!
Hotel Reception area looked good.
Some areas around the Hotel are in need of re-decorating.
location, good restaurant.
airco emitted a buzzing noise for 45 minutes after turning it on. Or off. on checking out- C: was everything satisfactory? me: Well, not quite. You need to have the airco fixed, it cost me a few hours of sleep. C: Did you take anything from the minibar? For Pete's sake, just man your desk with robots if all your staff can do is ask a few scripted questions.
Large comfy bed Quiet location Quick cheap bus right outside hotel, that takes you to main street
24 hour room service involved going to reception and collecting a pre made sandwich! Small balcony Food - not seasoned, not great
Bus into town was convenient.
The noise of voices all night until 5.00 a.m. Needed good nights sleep as was driving 8 hours the next day. Ruined my trip next day. Twice the price of the 4 star hotel I stayed in previous night. Should have stayed in Spain. Booking in staff arrogant and couldn't care less attitude.
We came for the darts and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. Pool area is lovely. Manager Kevin very helpful. See you next year !
No AC in room. Restaurant is expensive but nice.
The hotel room was very clean and the hotel staff were very friendly apart from 1.
We order a tour through the hotel reception but had to cancel an hour later due to time limits, when I went back to the reception the guy who booked it was gone home and the lady didn't know who it was booked through so she tried to charge me a cancellation fee! I told her where to go for her fee (in a nice way of course). The hotel interior could do with a facelift! Maybe it was just our room!
Love everything would stay in any other hotel in gin now
Size and cleanliness of the room the staff were very friendly, and although we never tried The restaurant it looked amazing with the patio tables overlooking the sea.there was also a pleasant bar area that also overlooked the sea where bar snacks were available with prices not much more than the local bars.
The only real problem was the fact that they are about to start a major rebuild of the hotel (not sure when it's due to start) so the external of the hotel is looking tired and neglected, but when complete it will be a stunning addition to Gibraltars hotels.
great location on the quieter side of the rock. Excellent restaurant and table service with friendly, approachable staff.
No bank holiday cover in the beauty salon
You can enjoy the caleta bay
Beautiful restaurant, nice bar staff, nice outdoor terrace, beautiful views, nice big room. easy to get to by Bus.
Hotel was tatty in places but my room was fine (4th floor) limited menu in bar
The Italian restaurant was amazing. Staff there were friendly and the food, wine and view was amazing. The location is great as its right near the beach and not to far from town. The rooms were nice nothing too special but was comfortable and clean.
I chose the hotel because of its spa but found that the Spa/Health section was understaffed and it was not possible to get any treatments other than a plain massage which was rather disappointing. The pool bar is non existent. The breakfast as well as room service was really disappointing and overpriced. Staff were not very friendly.
Relaxed setting, clean and comfortable rooms and a great sea view
We loved the location---right on the beach and you could take in the Rock and the breakers coming in from the room balcony. We were upgraded to a two-room suite, each with a balcony and a kitchenette---would have be great for a longer stay. The hotel most definitely has that "Old World" luxury feel to it---I would stay there again.
The restaurant seems fairly overpriced, so we chose to eat elsewhere. There is a very nice open air restaurant just a short walk on the beachfront with a very friendly staff.
The waiter in the dining room was not prepared to go up one floor to get a cup of coffee in the bar, when the coffee machine broke down in the dining room. Very difficult to get a taxi into town and back. Poor internet connection. Very much past glory. Definitely in need of renovation and it was obvious that nothing was going to be done until after renovation. Seeing the poor public transportation options will next time stay on the other side of the rock within walking distance of the offices.
Very expensive and not welcoming
