Only very few do like to work at the Hotel, amazingy bad...
The breakfast which we prepaid for contained nothing hot except toast. you had to pay an extra £5 per day per person on top of the £11 per day per person we had prepaid. We tried to cancel the 2nd days breakfast but could not obtain a refund. As such it was the most expensive cup of coffee i've ever had in my life.
The view was fantastic although we did have to pay an extra £10 per day for it after asking

he view over the sea in the morning
We had two rooms #24 and #28. Internet did not work at all in 28 which is the last room at the end of the hallway. Internet was great in room 24. Paying extra for the full English breakfast is not worth it. My biggest complaint is about the 3 hour tour we booked. There are various companies who provide tours, but the one the hotel suggests sells a 2 hour or a 3 hour tour. We paid for the 3 hour tour, but received a 2 hr 15 min tour. The tour itself is great, but what happened to the other 45 minutes we paid for? The hotel is a bit out of the way. You must take a bus or cab into town. The bus was a pain to take back at night. The hotel says to take the # 4 or 8 bus, but in town the locals and the bus driver says you can only take the #8 bus. Tried to get on several #8 buses only to be told "not the right #8 bus". Make sure you verify the bus is going to where you want regardless if it has the correct number.
When we checked in we asked for our rooms to be upgraded to the sea view which they happily did. We paid 30 euros more a night per room for the upgrade which was well worth the view. The views are beautiful, the room is stocked with soaps, shaving kits, toothbrush and paste, etc. The room had a stocked refrigerator. The staff was friendly and helpful, providing us with lots of information about the sites in town and options to book tours, bus schedules, etc. The 11 euro breakfast was pricy, but great with many choices from meats, cheeses, cereal, breads, fruits, various juices, coffee and tea.
I liked the room and the coffee in the room. The new Bistro was fabulous The food and service was wonderful in both restaurants that we ate in. Kevin went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
The hotel is a little run down in some areas.
Located on the quiet side of Gib with super views over the bay. linked to the rest of Gib by an excellent bus service.
Shabby and dirty rooms, badly in need of redecorating and renovation. Not good value for money compared to other hotels in the area. Generally poor service, reception staff uninformed on events and facilities. At best a Three star hotel.
Quiet, some of the staff were very friendly. Good location.
Petty rules enforced by the Duty Manager. For example, I was staying at the Hotel as got married in Gib. About 11pm we returned to the hotel as my wife and two friends were staying. Entertainment was taking place and we stood watching on a balcony above, the Duty Manager insisted we could not watch. When asked where the sign was saying this he said not one but we had to move. Secondly at 12 midnight we were in the bar and suddenly it was shut. Whilst accepting this might be the normal time the barman said " go downstairs" which was where the entertainment was and where we had been removed from and told we could not watch! After an argument the bar reopened for another hour but the saga left an unfortunate "taste in the mouth" and the attitude was not what was expected from a 4 star Hotel.
Views, location and rooms were very good.
Price keeps going up. Will soon become out of our company price range.
The fact that I wasn't aware of renovation until I arrived. The huge balcony was covered in seagull and ape poo and an old pair of tights remained on the balcony for the week long stay. Had booked bed and breakfast but was unable to cancel after day one, which I would have done as it was uninspiring and expensive.
The spa centre which was the main reason for choosing the hotel. Tea coffee facilities good large shower.
Don't cater for vegans
View was amazing and the size of the room.
Our stay was too short!
We had a one bed apartment it was really spacious and comfortable. Great views of The Rock and the Med. Lovely treatments in the Spa.
Hotel comunal areas under extensive renovation Extension being built Very noisy Bedrooms upgraded - bathrooms not. Bathroom disgusting Balcony shabby (in room and main balcony) Entire hotel dirty Workman continually in hotel Compresor in the bar area the list is endless
Sea view Large comfortable room (shoudl be paid £120 for deluxe room)
1. The poor service. 2. The building works going on. 3. The water being cut off. 4. No advice from the hotel or Booking.com about the above going on. 5. The overpriced room rate.
1. The bed. 2. The free breakfasts after I complained about the poor service.
Breakfast has less option.
Nice sea view room.
Power and no back up generator which spoilt our last few hours prior to our flight.
Location and restaurant
Very weak wifi signal in guest rooms, kept dropping out
Totally unsuitable for the elderly or infirm as many areas (eg breakfast dining-room and many bedrooms) have no lift and are accessed by steep stairs. Shabby, poky bedroom - wardrobe sliding doors fell out frequently, standard lamp did not function, no room to negotiate movement round beds, not too clean. So-called luxury bathroom was very basic - door would not shut, plug in sink did not work, mould in shower. Many staff could not speak or understand English and front of house staff had broken English. The air-conditioning in communal areas was set so high that it was unpleasantly cold.
Hotel due for refurbishment next year, and it appears that some minor maintenance issues are being neglected until this time.
Staff pleasant and accommodating
Everything! Spectacular Hotel in every way. Staff very helpful and friendly. Delightful menu both in Nuno's Restaurant and lounge and cooked to high standards. Compliments to the Chefs!
The view from the balcony
Looking tired, food and drink expensive. No lift to half of rooms. Requested two rooms next to each other but couldn't have been further away if they had tried.
Position looking over the sea with big balcony for one room in older part of hotel, small balcony with newer room.
No Wifi in bedrooms as per the website, you had to come to hall way but when you went back in room it was gone again.
Luxury, bathroom extras, great room with views over the ocean, great music in bar, quiet location
Very expensive breakfast that they had a monopoly on as you were on the other side of rock from the town. Generally expensive compared to much of the surrounding cafes or restaurants you can go to.
Lovely location with great views, really nice staff and everything was lovely and clean.
