This hotel, a 5-minute drive from Kulusuk Airport, is located among eastern Greenland’s scenic beauty. It offers a quiet setting with fantastic fjord views, as well as an on-site restaurant and bar.

|Offering an in-house restaurant and a sauna, The Red House is located in the East Greenlandic village of Tasiilaq. All the heated guest rooms include free WiFi access.|
I had booked a room with a shared bathroom. When I arrived the staff queried whether I would prefer not sharing and upgraded me to a room with bathroom/toilet. The view from the room was fantastic. Good information via a card given to each person as they checked in on meal times. Range of food for meals was good, and it was really handy that you could have lunch there too if needed. Information on tours available was good. Pick up and drop off to airport and to the harbour was great. There were two small lounges between my room and the main dining area which were very sunny and warm, and nice to sit in.
The hotel is set above the township so you don't feel part of the town. A better range of tea and milk with multiple teabags of each could be provided in the rooms.
It is a beautiful view from the hotel located on the top of the hill overlooking the village. Behind the hotel there are nice walks and, again, beautiful views. The hotel is clean and staff is helpful when you ask for something.
Suggestion for the owners : Tell people in advance that they will be picked up by car at the helicopter port and that diner is included.
friendly staff great view tastefully decorated
prices wifi access prohibitively expensive
Amazing views, good facilities for Greenland.
Service lacked a personal touch. Hoards of tour groups.
Decent continental breakfast. Nice views from restaurant window. Good for v short budget stay so long as you aren't expecting any comforts. Tasiilaq itself is good for fjords, walks and scenery
Was situated at back of hotel in separate dorm type cabin. Walls not soundproof and you can hear from the various noises from both sides! This is not a budget option as hotel needs to tell you that you must book helicopter (approx 85euro one way *2 to get back to Kulusuk if that is the airport you have landed at. Kulusuk is on an island and there is no other way of getting off the island other than helicopter ( boats are restricted so this is not an option). The hotel clearly recognise that some people have booked at lower price as they are not aware of helicopter charges.... you had to book back in hotel in Kulsuk to get off the island which they were happy to do so. Be very careful of large amount of insects - couldnt open windows becase of them. No of Locals wear insect nets over their heads - this must say something.
We liked the staff and the recent renovations to the public areas of the hotel. They did a fantastic job! The food was good, the view was amazing. Our room was very basic to say the least, but the blackout shades worked and it was very clean - both important things. When we opted to change rooms to the main part of the hotel, the staff was very accommodating, and it was a good decision, as we had a vey nice view.
