Don't go in this hotel. Showers did not work in our 2 bedrooms ! The water was very cold or suddenly very hot, very cold again, etc. impossible to stay. So finally we just took cold showers for one week. They tell you different stories and explanations but the reality is that they can't solve the issue and tehy don't care. Once they forget to clean the room. I had to insist to get some shy apologies. Some members of the personnel seem to hate tourists! They create a very bad atmosphere.. The picture shows a hobbycat catamaran but it never works. No restaurant for lunch (only a small one expensive available)
Location is nice. Beach and pool nice.

We got the complete run-around by the front desk - our room was not ready, they refused to move our bags (family of 4 with small children) and charged us more than what we were quoted online. The quality of the hotel, rooms and service are not at all worth what you pay.
The pool, beach and breakfast are great!

- On our last day, we didn't have warm water in the shower in the morning. They "fixed" it during the day, and in the evening the shower sort of exploded, and flooded the bathroom. - We made an appointment to go diving, but the reception didn't pass the message to us that our pickup location and time had changed, thus we missed our dive. The dive was added to our bill however... - The service in the La Zawag restaurant is lousy. My girlfriend got the wrong food, and we couldn't order a drink for the first 45 minutes. - Our suitcases weren't delivered to our room the first day. Even after multiple calls they didn't came, so we had to go back to luggage storage to pick them up ourselves. - There is quite some noise at night in the Corail rooms, both from the La Zawag restaurant and the music from the lobby.
The resort looks great on pictures... However, in reality it is quite bad.

Looooong checkin time. Almost two hours. This resort is in middle of town, hard to escape smell of city, can almost believe you are in paradise but need to squint your eyes. This place is lipstick on a pig.
Pool was nice layout and fun but at the same time I encountered pieces of glass on pool tiles which seemed to come from broken glass wall surrounding the pool..... Well groomed gardens. Saw an iguana in gardens...

Unfortunately the staff is not service oriented. They seem to feel that the guests are there to serve their needs in stead of the other way around. This results in unpleasant and sometimes rude behavior and a very low service level for a 4 star hotel. Positive exceptions are some of the housekeeping staff and the lady who organizes the trips.
Nice hotel, fine rooms, good pool, nice beach, perfect location in the center of the island, reasonable food, large parking, several nice restaurants nearby.

I didn't like that I had to leave! The only other thing we did not like is that our cab driver had the meter running before he picked us up to take us to the airport. It was at 48 Euros when we got in the cab. He drove us the day prior and arranged for him to pick us up the next morning. When one of my group inquired about the fare he was insulting, rude, and even confrontational. Our experience with him was nothing like anything else we had experienced on the island. Just a heads up...
Our group of 7 guests arrived at noon and the staff allowed us early check in with no problem. Though most of us did not speak French the staff was friendly and accommodating. We loved everything about the place, first off all the style and decor of the lobby, rum bar, pool and lounge area. It was understated chic - loved it. We had a standard double room which was a nice basic room. Basic yes, but the linens, the bed, and the pillows were perfect. It's nice when there is a selection of soft and firm pillows as it can make a difference in one's night sleep. We had many drinks at the bar- I recommend their trilogy of house infused rums, delicious! We had lunch at the pizza/panini beach shack- perfect! They have two restaurants open for dinner, one was a buffet format. We went to the other one, right on the beach. Great setting on the water and the food was top notch. Freshwater prawns, perfectly grilled dorado, and a gourmet hamburger satisfied all of us. The service at both restaurants was friendly and accommodating. My friends and I can't say enough good things about La Creole Beach hotel and about Guadeloupe for that matter. We will definitely return.
