Excellent location close to nice neighbourhoods with great restaurants & bars. Very helpfull staf. Lovely breakfast! Great atmosphere to feel at home. We loved it!!
Staff In general, value for money
just the issue of having to wait for the entrance door to be opened, from one of the receptionist who usually closed it.
The staff was very helpful; was able to change room from one day to another; A special breakfast was organized for the marathon runners.
Staff was very friendly and also they have organised early breakfast at 5:00 am for marathon runners. It was nice ))
In my reservation was mentioned: This property accepts the following forms of payment: Visa, Euro/Mastercard, but they accepted only cash...
We loved this family-run guest house in the heart of the Plaka, just a few minutes walk to the Acropolis and other Athens attractions. Nice staff, great breakfast, pleasant rooms.
Noise from street at night can be bad, although likely less than other loctions in Athens as there is no motorized traffic on this street.
I reserved a room for 4 and I go an (old, ultra small) room for 3 with a bed that simply did not fit into the room. Ridicolous price for what you get. A place you should just avoid. Also I specified I wanted to pay with credit card but I was obliged to pay pash. I reserved for 3 nights but I just escaped this prison asap and paid just 1 night.
Small rooms. They are not honest: I reserved a room for 4 and what I got was 3 fixed beds + 1 small bed added that did not even fit into the small room. They oblige you to pay cash even if you ask to pay with credit card.
Quiet, excellent location and accessible to major sights, shopping, etc, was a benefit.
I don't like the idea of having to book with a VISA and then not being able to pay by the same. Having to pay by cash is an archaic and old fashioned method of payment, especially given the fact that it adds the element of having to be more vulnerable to theft, etc.
Great location and nice athmosphere of the old building. Friendly and helpfull staff.
A bit worn out and noisy due to limited insulation but It was not any problem for us.
Old and shabby.
Great location and staff.
Made an extreme effort, almost to the point of requiring, to be paid in cash. This was not noted anywhere on the booking. After much discussion a credit card was finally taken.
It'a very near to acropolis, plaka and syntagma. Has an adventrous historical atmosphere. Breakfast is fair but mostly you need to wait for a free table
Only one hair dryer for hotel kept in reception, bur they borrow you when you need. corner block needs heavy restoration(teared wallpapers, open pipes in wc, cracks on ceiling). asked for a taxi i can thrust. Lady in the reception called for a taxi which took the double price. After insisting, hotel accepted their fault but did nothing.
Smiles and friendly service abound in this place!.. : )
Some urgent maintenance/rennovation is in top order here - were it not for the friendly vibes, we'd be quite unhappy, and its a shame for such an otherwise nice place...
Good location and clean hotel
No lift provided. Suggest the hotel to provide staff assistance to carry the baggage to and from the room.
Excellent location, helpful staff, quaint rooms that could have straight from the 1970's. Some good shared facilities.
Plumbing and bathroom average. No lifts so if you don't like stairs go for a lower floor room. Rooms a little noisy.
Jasmine. So helpful and cheerful all the time. The great location. The sense of belonging and camaraderie among other travellers. Access to internet so that we could print of boarding passes. Location, location, location. Great value.
Our bathroom had no ventilation or natural light or air so it got muggy and the floor was always wet.
Front desk staff members very helpful without exception. Good breakfast including quality fresh fruit and yogurt.
The best thing about this place is the location. You are within walking distance to the acropolis area along with shopping and metro access at Stygmata square. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
The bed was hard and stiff. Fortunately, we can sleep about anywhere.
Location / obliging staff, very friendly like a family.
2 star hotel / no lift, although jasmine carry case for me .4th floor Roomy b/room but b/room down corridor/changed to tiny b/room with ensuite on ground floor, suited me more.
An excellent location. Very small rooms. The hotel for one day to see all the famous monuments on foot.
Very small rooms.
Enjoyable neighborhood, great for walking, eating, browsing, close to the Acropolis.
Very basic shower, toilet facility, closet space.
Location - very close to the Plaka and Acropolis Reasonably priced for Athens Helpful when checking in, with info for the area Clean
Very tired decor Wafer thin walls between the rooms Crowded room for breakfast - pretty basic OK for a night, perhaps two - no more
Not very clean, breakfast certainly not worth the mandatory 7.50€, staff was good except horrible Viennese woman at reception, house dumpy but not in a charming way, very little space in room or in breakfast area
Highly accessible to old athens and shopping. Excellent staff -special thanks to Jasmine &Andreas for answering questions and being so attentive. As a family run business, it has a homely feel and you also get to travellers fom all over the world.
I really liked the traditional character of the hotel and the location was ideal for all the sights near the Acropolis. I would definitely stay here again!
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful (except for the weird lies of the young bearded receptionist about the orange juice). The room and hallways charmingly old (mid 19th century, renovated in the 1950s and kept clean ever since. Ok, maybe with minor modifications like a telephone from the 1980s). Great backyard with picturesque half-ruined houses covered with flowers, palm–trees and basil. (Check out the 'smoking area' balcony on 1st floor). The location (edge of Plaka) is perfect for walking both tourist and non–tourist paths. 5 minutes walk to the Acropolis museum or Syntagma square / National garden.
1) The orange juice for breakfast was 'homemade' from concentrate, but with not enough water, so it was still a super sweet non–potable syrup. When I told a member of the staff (male, early 30s, beard) he ignored my discrete advice to recheck the mixture, but insisted that the juice wasn't made from concentrate and perfectly fine. (I saw the can with the concentrate and it's "mix 1:6" recipe on the kitchen desk with my own eyes). 2) parking was only possible at a nearby (direct neighbor) commercial parking for 40€ (one and a half days).
