Stayed in an Acropolis view room which was excellent value for money. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location perfect, as most things within easy walk.
The view and a nice big balcony my room came with. Central location on the foothills of the Acropolis. Handy for seeing the old city Plaka!
Being an old building itself, sounds travelled and any other guest coming in very late at night, were easily heard in the hallway!
in a nice area well located central to town very close to the Acropolis Museum
Staff Breakfast Location
Hard to say as was not given opportunity to stay
Arrived at hotel to be told that they had a plumbing problem and had paid for us to stay at the hotel Byron. Extremely upset as no prior advice and hotel Byron was not the same standard. Too tired to argue. Got impression they did not want our business as it was only for one night.
Breakfast, staff and location are excellent. Slightly off the main road and market streets so quiet location compared to others. Very clean hotel though the furniture is looking a bit tired and the mattresses are a bit Spartan. Balcony was fantastic with direct views of the Acropolis, with table and chairs and some nice plants. Bathroom facilites were excellent. A well stocked vending machine. Wi-Fi is good though it wasn't working on the last day of my stay - I can't say whether this is a common occurence or a one-off.
Faint smell of smoke in the room (got used to it very quickly) as all the rooms appear to cater for both smokers and non-smokers (common in Greece!).
good location, very close to the subway station and the acropolis site.
the room is not sound-proof at all. you can hear everything in the hall.
The location of the hotel is very good - just a few steps from the Plaka´s pictoresque streets.
The hotel looks much better on pictures than in reality. In fact, it is quite old and it needs to be refurbished. Bathroom is very small and it has a very bad odour. We had a room with a double bed but they were just two beds standing one beside the other, which meant that they tended to move apart all the night. At night you could hear noise from the hallway and breakfast was very poor. We wanted to leave one day earlier but they refused to return us the money which we paid in advance. All in all, the price does not match the quality at all, you only pay for the location, that´s it.
The rooms-it looks like a 1050s motel with no repairs done for decades. It was nothing like the pictures. The management lied-the description of the family rooms was that 1 unit offers an acropolis view-but in reality looks out at an alley and back of the buildings. The manager was asking for 50euros more if we want the view. The place was very old, unclean, uncomfortable, that we left after a few hours and transferred to tony's hotel-even if it meant forfeiting a day's rent.luckily, booking.com promised to reimburse 50euros for the false room description
Comfortable, Clean, great location.
fair welcome from the staff always ready for help. sight on Acropolis. situation in Plaka.
the unfriendly behaviour of the owners breakfast could be better
Helpful staff. Many restaurants nearby. Within walking distance to Akropolis, Temple of Olympian Zeus, National Garden, and Parliament. 5 minutes to metro station and neary Hop-on/off bus stops
Noisy from outside, could be cleaner.
The hotel is in the heart of Athens. Everything I wanted to see was within walking distance. The room was clean, with a lovely large balcony. Best part for me, was that is was just around the corner from my favorite restuarant, Byzantino!! Staff were great. Would stay again.
I did not like to coffee.
Fantastic location. Easy walk to the Parthenon and is right in the restaurant area. Short 15 min walk to Syntagma square for those arriving by bus or train. Internet computer is also available for those without wifi laptops/phones
Bathrooms were clean and well service but were a little outdated
The location is great ,easy walk to every thing.Good resturants just around the corner ,Aphrodite is helpful if you have any questions.Home made yogurt and preserves for breakfast.
There was'nt anything we didn't like ,you just have to be realistic in your expectations given the price you are paying.
We had a wonderful stay here. No complaints! It was just for a quick 2 nights. The staff was very helpful and the location was great!!! The room was clean. We would definitely book here again.
The veranda and the view
The bathroom in room 303 needs upgrading
The new owners have done a tremendous job in the past year to bring this hotel to where it is. Located adjacent to the Plaka is a fantastic asset. Our balcony looked directly at the Acopolis which is an added plus. Wish them all the best in the future.
Minutes walk to Acropolis. Clean. Friendly staff.
Building is old. No view to the Acropolis. Bath tub very narrow. Bit pricey for what it offers.
LOOKS NICE AT THE INTERNET BUT IS NOT.VERY EXPENCIVE .ONLY THE LOCATION IS OK.
The location was good and staff were attentive
The room was a bit tired! Air conditioning machine was on its last legs. Wi-fi was terrible, kept on kicking out
1. Location - close to cafes, Acropolis, subway and buses. 2. Price - 270 Euro for double room (#106) 20-23 september 2014.
1. Lady on reception told me: "I prefer cash". I payed by cash, and then I found that Adams Hotel got my money twice - by my visa card. Now, I am waiting for canceling this operation. 2. No view to Acropolis on the roof. NO VIEW. ROOF IS CLOSED.
Only the location
Upon arrival I was told that my room was not available due to electricity problems, which was a plain lie. They had simply overbooked. I was transferred to a dodgy hotel nearby for the first night (no hot water, very basic bathroom, moldy smell, window not useful because it was above a generator with fuel smell). I was promised a room right away next morning. But of course the room was not available then because people still had to check out. After complaining a room was available suddenly. Demanding a discounted price for the inconvenience was not granted but I got a 5€ breakfast for free.
Fabulous location, close to important sites, transport, restaurants, and the only coin laundry in Athens! Quiet helpful management and staff, nice setting for breakfast, which offers enough choice to satisfy all tastes.
Excellent location, close to Acropolis, very good shopping and restaurants all within easy walking
Cramped bathrooms, noisy floors and bathroom doors
