Staff extremely helpful. I lost my room key on my first night with no complaints from staff. They also assisted me booking another Kos hotel on return from sailing (Aegean Houses was fully booked or I would have returned). Spacious, clean suite. Good breakfast.
Internet was a bit unreliable
- Very (!) friendly staff - Good location - just a 15-20 min walk to Kos city - bike rental close to the hotel (bike pathes available) - Free parking in front of the hotel if space available - Free WiFi in rooms
Helpful and friendly staff, quiet location, good breakfast
Hotel is quite small but you can find all the facalities that you need. 1,5 km far a way from the Kos downtown.. It is easy to reach see side by walking in 5 mins.
Location No Party Crowds Good Facilities and Staff Nice Pool
little of note
Generally good location if you want to be central in Kos city, but not too close to bar noise. Staff was friendly and tried to be helpful.
Since air conditioner didn't work (seemed to be purposely removed from power supply) had to keep balcony door fully open which meant fully exposed to barking dogs and crowing roosters most of the night. Made sleeping difficult. Asking for direction to ferry, the distance and time required to get there was significantly underestimated which meant I almost missed the ferry.
Hepful, smiling staff. Very clean hotel. Close to city center. You feel yourself like in your house.
Good layout of the hotel. good breakfast.very good facilities.Quiet and peacfull location.Close to beach & restaurants.
Too long walking ditance to town center. Rooms and bath need updating. Not everyone likes to wake up on 5 o'clock by chickens and roosters...
Very friendly and nice hotel. Good breakfast with local specialities. Nice pool area with enough sun beds.
I could feed cats in my ground floor room. - It was so nice to have visitors.
Rooms need renovation. Long walk to city centre (1,6 km).
Did not like had to pay €15 for safe I think that should be free
We visited May 2014. The apartment was as we requested by e-mail and was comfortable and kept very clean. Towels were changed daily and pool towels were freely available with a returnable deposit. The air conditioning was free of charge as was the wi-fi which was available in my room as well as the reception area. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. The restaurant and bar were always open with good food and quality branded drinks available. The pool area, in fact the entire site is kept spotlessly clean. There are plenty of sunbeds with no selfish "reserving" of beds taking place. No drunks or rowdy folk in evidence either. The hotel is in a good location with other restaurants and bars nearby. Car, scooter & bicycle hire is close and parking is available at the front. We enjoyed our stay in the Aegean Houses very much.
The bed was a bit too firm and the neighbouring Cockerels were in constant competition and noisy. It took a couple of days to ignore the noise. It is apparent that Kos has not escaped the economic crisis in Greece particularly in the public sector. The museums are all closed and are likely to remain so for next year or two. Other archaeological sites have been abandoned and are so overgrown with vegetation that access is very limited and viewing seriously restricted. The one exception is the Aeskepilon which is a must. Kos airport on departure is a hell-hole. Understaffed with inoperable information screens. Be careful not to get trapped upstairs when the flights are called. There is only one stair and it is immediately blocked when a flight is called. When further flights are called a dangerous crush develops, particularly when subsequent calls announce gate closures before passengers have even managed to get downstairs from the cafe. I witnessed some thugs and their wives kicking and abusing travelers on different flights who were trying to get past stationary queues on these stairs.
Pool area is very nice and had plenty of sun loungers for all the hotel guests (the hotel may not have been full however). Very good breakfast. Beach within walking distance. Nice with kids as the hotel has a large garden to run around in plus a small playground. Staff very accomodating. Small gym was a nice addition which we used a few times.
We had a lot of ants in the kitchen. Kitchen was tiny, with just the very basic equipment, so cooking was not very practical. The apartment was very very humid with a distinctive smell. The towels didn't dry at all overnight. It is a shame we had to always give them away to wash, since otherwise we would have had wet towels during the whole holiday. Sound isolation was very poor, you hear your neighbors flush the toilet or talk. We didn't find the hotel location to be very good apart from the access to the closest beach.
From the moment I arrived all staff were so nice and friendly. The apt was spotless and cleaned everyday. Apt kitchen had everything one would need. Accommodation is very close to supermarkets and bike rental is across the road. Great cycling paths either direction from apt block. I thought location was perfect- about 1km from town centre with plenty of restaurants/cafe's along the way.
