Akali Hotel    

Very friendly staff excellent location , traditional cretan breakfast buffet .... Clean and comfortable room as at the photos of webpage... And Definitely " Akali " is a value for money hotel .....I recommend it

Wifi almost does not exist in the hotel ,sometimes yes but very poor signal . swimming pool is very small,limited sun beds

Location is good, especially if you're travelling by car. It's not in the hectic old harbor, but it's easily walkable. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

The value for the price isn't the best. The hotel itself is modern but a little worn out. WIFI is weak. Bed was not comfortable.

Central location very close to the old town. The staff were fantastic. A big thanks to everyone there, particularly to Annita & Stella who were both so friendly, helpful and wonderful with my young son.

Kindness of the staff, readiness to help. Location is good and parking for rented cars available.

I am not satisfied with the room's cleanliness.

The staff were excellent,a real selling point, who gave us good advice on local places to eat (avoiding the tourist traps!) And generally extremely welcoming and hospitable. In particular Stella and Annita were great helps and directed us to the best meals of our stay, which we would never have stumbled across without their advice. The location is ideal for Chania as it is a short walk to both the town centre and old port, as well as the Neochora beach. The rooms are also quiet and peaceful at night without any disturbances, even though we had a city view. The hotel is clean and comfortable with a real homely feel to it. The pool, whilst not huge (therefore probably not great for a family with lots of children) was sparkling clean and a nice option if you don't fancy the beach one day. Overall, I would definitely return to this wonderful little hotel.

The decor was slightly out of date- however I would say this adds to the rustic feel of the hotel. It is however very very clean, and comfortable.

The pictures on the website make the rooms look so much nicer. And our room with the pool view had a brick wall blocking the pool view. I didn't like the fact that if you left the room the Air Conditioning would turn off. Everyday we had the come back after being out sweating to having to wait almost 2 hours to cool down.

Rooms were a bit small.

The room description in booking.com is absolutely correct. I booked a superior room - view to the street (no noise from outside). The location is perfect - 200 m. far from the bus station (that is precisely what I was looking for - and not to stay in the old city). Perfect cleaness and confort; complete equipment of the bathroom. Extremely helpful staff - thans a lot to Anita, Nicos, Cleopatra and the others. Excellent breakfast - with a lot of Cretean products. Free computer access at the lobby (I mean "computer", not just wifi). Frankly, I do not share the present average of 7.6 - I consider that Akali deserves several 10s and an average arround 9.5, I fully recommend it.

Two very minor objections: poor choice of tv-programmes (but, in fact, who cares) and small swimming pool (I did not go to Crete for a pool - on top of it, there is an excellent nea chora beach at 300 m.).

Wonderful, profession and helpful staff provided advise on sites to visit and recommended some excellent restaurants whilst in Chania (particularly impressed with the gm Fotini, who was informative on places to visit and restaurants in the area and Nicko at reception. Our room was spacious and the breakfast buffet was great. We were originally given a room with carpet, we asked that we be moved to another room (no carpet) and the staff were able to relocate us soon as a room without carpet became available (the following day)

What lets down the hotel is the immediate area and surroundings, the hotel is opposite some dilapidated old buildings. The area is in need of some serious work. For this reason we would reconsider about staying at the Akali again

The location of the hotel was perfect....3 Minutes from center city, 3 minutes from sea, and 3 minutes from highway roads

I would like to say that this hotel was one of the most frienldy hotets I ever stay, because the employees there All of them are so perfect, they make me feel that I could ask anything from them and I did not disturb them, I feel like I was on my house.

Uitstekende ligging ten opzichte van het centrum en het nabijgelegen strand. Perfecte service en uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet.

la gentilezza di tutto il personale, l'eccellenza del breackfast , la qualità del dormire (letto, ambiente) FANNO SENTIRE A CASA , la posizione vicina al centro e a due passi dalla spiaggia rende tutto facile

Serviceminded personale, med smil. God frokost med bredt utvalg. Rolig og fin bakgård som egnet seg for frokostkaffen eller en forfriskning etter strandturen. Kort vei til stranden og den gamle havnen. Rolig og avslappet atmosfære - ikke typisk feriehotell for yngre (støyende) turister. Anbefaler rom mot bakgården for å unngå trafikkstøy fra hovedgaten forbi hotellet. Totalt et greit hotell til fornuftig pris.

At det er enkelte bygninger i området som er noe skjemmende / forfaller, men det finnes også i mer sentrumsnære områder.
