Akrotiri Beach  

We spent a lovely holiday in Akrotiri Beach; staff was very friendly & helpfull. Private beaches & swimming pool were great.

The staff were amazing, and the hotel provided good quality services and food in a relatively underdeveloped geographical location.

Internet connection was slow.

The position of the hotel is phenomenal with amazing views of the sea from many aspects of the hotel including the rooms, pool, bar and dining area. Not only that, the hotel has both a private beach and immediate access to the public beach-which is also lovely. The staff have an unusual combination of being very professional but also very warm and welcoming. They really want to make your stay perfect and go out of their way to help. The hotel has a more modern and more upmarket look than many of the other hotels in the area that are also lovely but less sleek. The hotel in the pictures can look very big and resort like, but actually it is the perfect size and doesn't feel like a package tour. There is no other hotel in the area that has this perfect combination.

The location is great, view from balcony was best ever (5:th floor facing south). Sitting on the terrace @ sunset. Poolarea.

Breakfast could have been of higher standard.

The breakfast was quite basic.. although the yoghurt and honey made up for the limited choice.. was delicious..

Location and the beach is beutifull, the pool is new clean and view from it is beauty, Staff is very nice!

View is amazing. Think this hotel has the best location in all of the Paleokastritsa area. It is built on a rocky cliff with one side of the hotel (standard rooms) overlooks North to the beach (agia triada) where all the people/sunbeds/umbrellas/water-sports are and the other side (superior rooms) which overlooks South to the rocky cliffs which are more quiet and natural. The pool is located on the South-East corner of the hotel, and as such is also overlooking the amazing rocky cliffs of the southwestern side of the island.

The breakfast is horrible. I'm a long-time traveller to many of the various Greek islands and I must say that these are definetely the worst meals I've ever had. The signs in the dining-room all read "Guest are kindly requested not to take food items out of the restaurant". Ironically enough, we did not face this necessaity/problem at all - we actually had to bring items in (Cofee, Milk, Bread, Cheese, Cerial etc'...) First and most important, The food was the SAME every day. We stayed there for 10 days in late AUG during the HIGH SEASON and we found the same food every day. 1) Vegetables - only tomatoes and black olives. every day. No cucumbers??? very weird as is this is one of the key components of the famous "Greek salad". 2) White bread. Only one kind. Either toased or not. 3) Filter coffee only. You cannot make anything else unless you bring your own. 4) To drink - Grapefruit mix and Orange juice (both from concentrated juice). 5) Filter coffee only. You cannot make anything else unless you bring your own. 6) Cerial - 2 kinds, same every day. 7) Egg - Fried. Same every day. No pancakes, no other kinds of eggs for breakfast...:| so, to sum-up from 1-10 (10 being the highest) 1) Organization - Poor = 2. Would recommend to re-organize the whole food area. 2) Diversity - Very poor = 1. Woluld definetely recommend do add more vegetables other than tomatoes and grapes. There are also cucumbers and different colors of peppers, onions etc'...Would definetely recommend to add more types of egg other than just fried...there are omlettes, scrabled, with mushrooms, with onions...etc'... Would definetely add more options for drinks...non-filter cofee....chocolate.....etc'... Would definetely add more types of bread. Not everybody eats white bread. Nevermind that is the least healthy bread type. Would definetely add pancakes... Would definetely add more diversity to the breakfast which is currently quite poor and un-enjoyable.

I was renting a car for a week at airport by economy car rental and this proved to be an effective move because in this way you save airport hotel commuting expenses and you are located in a fantastic natural place from which you can easily reach also every remarkable place in half an hour in the whole island. So I enjoyed the Akrotiri Beach attractions but also visited Sidari (spoiled by constructions), Achilleion, Kerkira, Lokata, Pontikonissi, kaiser throne sunset (beautiful restaurant) and Paleocastritsa monastery. What you will appreciate in Akrotiri Hotel is the kindness and professionally of the service. Eleni at reception solved my credit card protection problems and assisted on a potential change in flight. All waitresses leaded by an efficient maitre are gentle young and pretty. Barwoman and Lydia are animating the bar area every night helped sometimes by bozouki singers and etching you Sirtaki. Restaurant offers two starter and a main dish at your choice in a selection of three or four. If you don't like moussaka souvlaki and other greek specialties you must book at a five star hotel where you can eat what you eat at your home, but not for less than 15 euro. The quantity is dangerous for your fitness but you can go to the Achilleon diving centre which is on your way to the beach and it is very professional. Beach services are not complimentary but you can have umbrella and two hammocks for 5 euros/day. You can parachute for 40 euro and pedalo' for much less. Akron is more than a beach restaurant. Also there waitress are rapid kind and efficient. On the other side you have a free rocky beach of the Hotel where you swim between school of fishes. Sea water is turquoise. All rooms have a fantastic view and are quiet. Other two remarkable restaurant are at walking distance. Spiros taverna (try the fantastic grill mixture) and Nereid (unavailable for Greek Marriage that night).

The standard of the rooms and services have been largely improved from previous comments. Last time I was in a five stars named Astir Palace in Kommeno Bay. I was trying to make a comparison update, but in the new resort I have been stopped by a guard that was preventing me going inside for dinner or aperitif or simply have a look at the new Greco etc. hotel. In Akrotiri every thing is a bit old fashioned and this may delude who is aspecting a top level international four stars. But you can relax and navigate on a fully free WIFI connection in the vast and quiet common area or in terraces. Swimming pool has a view even during swim but food is limited, mattresses are very old and towels not provided. Also the hotel shop remained close all time and it is open on demand. I have bought a greek towel for 10 euro in the shop in front of the hotel. I recommend not miss a Jacuzzi seat (located near swimming pool) after a swim in the rocky area (after exercising on many stairs to come back).

The views from the bedroom were fantastic.

Could not get a coffee before 7am or anything else for that matter. The air con blew a strong smell of sewers into the room so could not have it on and when it is 35 degrees at night this is not good.

Excellent location, helpful and kind staff. Good room, clean and comfortable. Very nice view.

Poor breakfast, almost no food for the children.

La situation au bord de mer sur l'un des plus beaux site de Corfou, les équipements (piscine, plage), l'animation sympathique et l'amabilité du personne. Je citerais aussi la taille et le confort des chambres.

La salle de bain est un peu vieillotte, la robinetterie mériterait d'être remplacée. Certains équipements sont égarement assez vieillissants et devraient être changés, par exemple les transats dont un certain nombre sont cassés. Le petit déjeuner est correct et copieux et conforme à ce qu'on peut attendre d'un hôtel ou d'un club de vacances, c'est-à-dire que ce n'est pas l'ambiance ni la qualité d'un 4 étoiles en ville. Il est est de même du diner qui est copieux et plutôt bon marché, mais de qualité moyenne. Il est préférable de diner dans les restaurants alentours. Ceux-ci sont assez nombreux mais il faut savoir que la route qui principale n'est pas très agréable pour les piétons.

Lage könnte nicht besser sein. Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter. Idealer Ausgangspunkt für Schnorchler, Schwimmer und Taucher. Kostenlose Moutainbikes. Tolle Aussicht vom Pool und den Bars. Viele nette Tavernen in unmittelbarer Entfernung.

Öffentlicher Bus sehr unzuverlässig.

Die Lage des Hotels ist fantastisch. Man hat herrliche Ausblicke aufs Meer von den Zimmern, dem Pool und der Terrasse.

Die Terrasse zum "Felsen Badeplatz" war sehr vernachlässigt, einige alte Liegen und defekte Sonnenschirme standen herum. Es gab zwar eine Leiter ins Wasser, aber sie endete deutlich oberhalb der Wasserfläche, nicht gerade bequem. Das Wasser war ideal zum Schnorcheln, aber leider viel der erste Blick auf eine alte Leiter auf dem Meeresgrund. Enttäuschend war das Frühstück, es erinnerte mich an längst vergangene Mensa Zeiten was Angebot und Ablauf anging.

Schönes Hotel in guter Lage mit einem Kiesstrand und einem Felsenstrand an dem man mit Leiter ins Wasser gelangen kann. Nett zum Schnorcheln. Toller Pool Das Hotel ist wohl in den 70ern (?) gebaut aber in wesentlichen Teilen renoviert worden, das gilt besonders für die Poolanlage und die Badezimmer - modern und auch sauber. Frühstücksbuffet war in Ordnung, Abendessen hatten wir einmal, geschmacklich in Ordnung, von der Atmosphäre her nicht so schön - dafür mit rund 14€ p.P. + Getränke für vier Gänge recht günstig.

Im Frühstücks- bzw. Abendessenraum stehen die Stühle und Tische sehr dicht beeinander, Abendessen wird am Tisch serviert, ist aber sehr wuselig und dadurch unruhig - wir haben die restlichen Abende im Ort gegessen. Es gibt keine Safes in den Zimmern, nur einen zentralen an der Rezeption, der an ein Bankschließfach von 1950 erinnert...

Hotel vecchio e mal tenuto, camere vecchie, cucina fa mensa, non sicuramente un 4 stelle

יש נוף מהמם וקרוב מאוד לים, יש אחלה בר-מסעדה על חוף הים קרוב למלון והאוכל שם מעולה מה שחיפה על האוכל של המלון.

המזרנים קשים ולא נוחים, האמבטיה קטנה מאוד, מעלית אחת למלון צריך להמתין הרבה זמן, המלון עצמו ישן, כדי להגיע לים יש לרדת כ-80 ומשהו מדרגות מהמלון, האוכל נחמד.
