Alexis Hotel  

It's a nice family hotel and has a great restaurant.

The restaurant was excellent. We're about to leave Greece, and we can safely say that the best souvlaki and mussels were had at Theo'S. We haven't had comparable food since.

Hard beds! The same everywhere in Greece.

The staff was friendly and kind, the location was nice with an excellent view to the sea but not for all rooms.

When theo restaraunt (co-located in the hotel) was open, no one from hotel's staff was available for the room customers. The breakfast was very poor and limited. Although I made the room reservation via a visa card, no visa card was acceptable for the payment at the end of my stay there, so I forced to pay in cash. The room we used was not fully functional for our first night there (malfunctions to the shower and the a/c) but the next day things got better.

Theo, the owner/desk staff person, was really nice, welcoming, calm, and helpful. The view off our balcony was amazing. Downstairs, there is a beautifully decorated (modern/artistic) restaurant with delicious food that offers a European twist on traditional Greek and Cretan cuisine. The restaurant has an amazing unobstructed view of sunset over the unspoiled hills.

If you are a young person traveling cheap, or used to hostels, you will like Alexis Hotel. However, if you are an American used to nice or even just decent places, you will feel a bit off at Alexis. The sheets are scratchy, the mattresses thin, the walls bare, the furniture scratched and dented, the bathroom facilities minimal. You get a sense of visiting an Eastern European country just after communism fell. To qualify, all the other guests (non-Americans) seemed to just love it here, but we just didn't feel comfortable or relaxed in our room. It felt like we were in a dorm for summer camp.

the location is in a very quiet area overlooking the sea. woke up every morning by birds singing. met on arrival by very welcoming staff and imidiately you feel like a part of the family. the standard is basic and clean. not having a swimming pool this is not a first choise for families. the guests was a mix of young backpackers and senior couples. very relaxed and quiet. in theo resturant placed in the basement you meet people from all around the world over a drink or a wonderful dinner. the food is really really good. for me this was perfect and i will definitely stay here on my next visit to chania.

Perfetto per visitare questa parte dell'isola, poco distante dal centro che è raggiungibile in pochi minuti di auto. Hotel semplice con camere pulite, arredate semplicemente ma molto confortevoli, unica pecca la doccia del bagno, composta da solo il piatto doccia senza neppure una tenda quindi si allaga il bagno quando la si usa..ma basta qualche piccolo accorgimento per risolvere il problema! Se decidete di soggiornare all'alexis consiglio vivamente la mezza pensione, pietanze di qualità ed in quantità da scegliere dal menù alla carta del ristorante..non ve ne pentirete! La colazione un pò scarsa se paragonata alla cena!:) ma nello standard degli altri hotel del'isola..consigliatissimo!!

Les options payantes (wifi hors de prix mais gratuit dans le restaurant mais il y a un pc en libre service, mini-frigo, climatisation). L'invitation faite au client de ne pas se reservir bien que le petit- déjeuner soit en formule buffet. Salle de bain "les pieds dans l'eau" en raison de l'absence de rideau de douche.

la vue de l'hôtel sur la plage est sympathique, cependant je suis extrêment deçu. je souhaiterais quand même dire que le personnel est sympathique.

tout d'abord, l'hôtel est très mal situé, loin de la ville ce qui nes justigie donc pas un tel prix. L'hôtel est assez vieux, il n'y a ^pas de clim (il faut payer en plus), pas de télé... la chambre est très moyenne (à mon arrivée: innondation des la salle de bain..), nous avons patienté 1h avant d'avoir le réceptioniste pour récupérer nos clefs. les chiens du propriétaire aboient toute la nuit (merci l'isolation)... en gros, le seul hôtel sur les 6 que j'ai fait en crète qui m'a totalement dessus. de plus, le petit déjeuner n'est pas super.
