The room we stayed was like extra room. The bathroom was dangerous with high step. It's really small room and we were worrying about the entrance door because people is easily get in. I felt sad to stay there. I don't want ti stay room like this
- Can't go wrong with the price. - A/C was pretty strong.
- No hot water. Nothing worse than taking a cold shower before a 14-hour flight home. - The neighbourhood was pretty bad considering the hotel was well away from Omonia station and square. I wouldn't recommend female travelers walk those streets alone at night. - The rooms and the whole building needed a renovation. It looks like no upgrades have been made since the 1950s. - No form of electronic payment accepted (cash only).
The owner is friendly
Dear Travelers, beware of insects (bugs!) . We were forced to run away and spend this one night in the car. It's a lovely old building, but sadly old means here big troubles.

Nothing. The only good thing is the centric location.
The hotel facilities are old and quite creepy. Our "double room" was almost a hole, there was space only for the bed and a small desk and barely no place to put your feet on the floor if you are not on the bed. The bathroom is located inside the room (this is, taking space from the room), the shower is just terrible and the whole thing did not look clean at all. The room looked old and dirty in general. One of the worst places we have ever stayed.
-very helpful staff -good internet connection -the position of the hotel was perfect for me -good price
LOCATION IS GREAT, VERY CLOSE TO THE BEACH AND A SHOP AND A BUS STOP
I somehow managed to spend a day there.
The room was too small...not worth what I paid for. The internet was not working and staff comprised of two old men who were very unhelpful. One of them locked the door at night and passed out...we spent half an hour screaming and throwing stuff at his glass door to wake him up to let us in. The bed was very poor quality and springs hurt. Bathroom door wont close too. Horrible experience.
Location, close to everything
Smelly bathroom, too many insects, noisy area
The room was OK.. And there was a realy nice lady at reception. But that is all.
Well, we didn't expect a 5 star hotel for the price, but I think you could get something better. The localization isn't good, besides been a little far from all most important atractions, it look not safe, specially at night. But this wasn't the worse, there was a guy in the recepcion that was very rude with us. At first when we arrived a lady recived us, and we asked her about the payment (if we needed to do at check in or check out) and then she told us that de could pay whenever de wanted, so we decided to pay later because we did't have cash and the hotel doesn't accept credit card. At the same day, we leave and the arrive later at night and there was a guy at reception, we asked him our room's key, but he didn't even give it to us and asked about the payment, if we could do it at that moment. We explain him that the lady told us that we coul pay later and that we had been a little problems to find atm's to withraw money, because the machine was not reading our card (that's a real problemas in Athens, only few atms could read my card and almost anywhere accept credit card). The reacion of this guy was extremely rude and leave the recepcion and told us to follow him, we were at that dangerous region at 2 a.m Andrea he showed a dark street and told to us go there because there was an ATM. Well, we did it, and it was horrible, we felt so insecure, and once more we couldn't take the money. So we came back and he almost doesn't let us go up to our room. After all, in the next day we could finde a ATM that read my card and we could pay, but this hotel was a REALY BAD EXPERIENCE. I DO NOT RECOMEND IT. I think that booking.com should be more careful with the hotels that they put in the web site. No money save is worth this hotel.
It was right in the city center.
Toilet Bad Odor, Cleaning Room Once for Three Days, Window can't be closed properly, Mosquitos and Insects.., i can not sleep well there.
Private room and price
Staff asked why I was coming and going frequently and not out of general curiosity. Was asked to check out a day earlier, even though I had paid for all nights. Sheets, pillows, soaps etc were all from other hotels. Didn't feel the cleanest. Staff made me feel uncomfortable wanting to retain my key while I was still there. Noisy location
Good for its price!!
Wonderful staff. The best! Also, the location: it's so much better to eat out in Exarcheia than in the touristic places...and everything is at a walking distance or at a 3 euros taxi ride. Rooms are simple but clean, some are more noisy than others, but for what you pay for it's the best there is (mostly if you are the out of beaten trail type). We stayed here on our way in, on our way back from the islands and that the place we'll come back at the next time we come to Athens. Thanks! Louise&Jeremi
Great for price, but If you can avoid it do so.
-Central location in the vivid area of Exarchia -Peaceful roof terrace -24-hours reception service and friendly hosting -Reasonable price
Anna was very nice, she helped with everything, the room was comfortable, I had a nice time at the roof-really very good idea. I highly recomend it to everyone. It is in the center of the city, everything is very close. If you want to see all the historical placeces, you will not need to use buses or trains, it is about 15 min. walk from the Alysia Hotel.
Nothing, to be honest.
1) formidably unclean space 2) no hot water in the shower 3) one of the windows could not be closed (= terrible noise from outside) 4) complete lack of room service during a 2 days stay 5) unbearably bad smell in the bathroom
The hotel is situated in the centrum of Athens near the Metro, but the area is not so safe. The staff was really very friendly. The price was really cheap.
The room was really very old and small. The walls are dirty, the furniture very old and the windows do not close properly. So, the room was really cold, although there was aircondition.I would not recommend it for winter time.
Very nice hotel,is my forth time there, and is the chepeast hotel in Athens only 22 euro per night with private bath and wc,with WiFi and breakfast (if you want).Mrs Anna every single day is helpfull and very friendly. If the prices will continue like that of cource i stay again.
Our room wasn't so clean but i thing next time will be.
Nothing, only a roof over your head
This is a terrible hotel. Never stay - no lift, very noisily and no comfort... Very poor. Just terribly
A hotel with Character!! Really cheap, best location for backpakers or people who want to be close to the Vibrent Exarchia. Nice staff. Anna's the best. I have come back a few times and always been happy.
Facilities are mostly working, and what doesn't work the staff will help with. Can get noisy at night around the area- but this is inner city life, right?
It was great!
Non touristic area with good restaurants/bars, budget price close to Metro.
Almost warm shower and bad smell from bathroom drains.
