Amalia Hotel10, Amalias Ave, 105 57 Athens (Show map) Excellent, Score from 706 reviews“This is the only hotel that serves fresh lightly sauteed mushrooms and real meat slices lightly grilled. Breakfast is not from "opening the tin" variety. The hotel that maybe 3 star with a 5-6 star breakfast. Please note that this is my experience Jan 2012.”

The location of the hotel is excellent. It is close to the Plaka District as well as to the Acropolis and the National Gardens. The breakfast served each morning was terrific. The hotel is attractive, comfortable and the room I occupied was quiet. (Rooms closer to Syntagma Square might be quite noisy in the event of demonstrations outside the Parliament building. Such demonstrations were frequent during my stay in Athens). I found the hotel to be comfortable and would not hesitate to stay there again. My opinion is based on a ten day stay so I had an opportunity to evaluate this hotel over multiple days. My experience there was positive. Basically my feelings were very positive. I would certainly be willing to return to the Amalia in the future.

Great location, cleanliness of the hotel and the room, they offer an open- buffet breakfast which was really nice. House-keepers open the door without even knocking the door in the morning. There is no cafe or tea facilities in the rooms.

The staff is perfect, ready to answer all the questions and help with any problem. Room is quite spacious and clean. The place where breakfast is served is very nice. And the breakfast itself was delicious. The hotel is situated near the parliament and it is easy to get to all the sights by foot. In short, if I travel to Athens again I will definitely choose this hotel. Wi-fi connection free of charge in the rooms would be perfect.

Excellent location. Clean. Great views from deluxe room and rooftop garden. Decent breakfast buffet. Lobby's free internet and printer was useful for travel arrangements. Should have free wifi for price of room. Room service food was only marginal; more Greek food options would be sensible. No way to give gratuity to room service deliverer except cash. Staff at breakfast buffet kind of useless.

Excellent location adjacent to the main square in Athens. We had views of the changing of the guard outside the parliament building. Generously sized bedroom with comfortable bed and good shower. Breakfast was good. Staff helpful with getting transport to the airport when the transport strike was in operation. Some additional fresh fruit would have been welcome at breakfast - e.g. melon

Excellent location, minutes from the airport bus terminus, the restaurants & shopping area of Plaka, easy walk to archaeological sites (Temple of Zeus & Acropolis). Bus 2, 4 & 6 (Euros 1.40) to the must-see National Archaeological Museum. Very good breakfast buffet. Clean, good size, comfortable rooms. Roof top views of Athens including the Acropolis and the Church of St. George. Reception staff could be more friendly and helpful.

The hotel was modern, clean, and in a great location for shopping. There was an express bus to the airport right around the corner. It met our expectations and we would definately stay at Amalia again.

Very kind and friendly staff. Excellent location. Only one detail: the room was much too hot, it was not possible to stop the heating. We had to keep the window open all the time (in winter).

The staff was excellent, helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was nice. A 4 star hotel should provide free WiFi internet access to their customers and not charge it 5 euro per day. (Many of the hotels in the area provide free WiFi internet access)

central location, breakfast Customer service, which was far from friendly apart from certain individuals. Upon arrival we were greeted by receptionist called George. He was not very helpful or enthusiastic. He was unprofessional. On our third day we felt stalked by the breakfast lady as she kept hovering over us making us feel very uncomfortable. Especially when she kept looking in our shopping bag which we had to take with us as we came straight from the shops and didn't have a time to go to the room as we were traveling straight after. When we politely asked if we could take couple of cakes to eat on our travels she instantly refused and instantly accused of us of already taking food.

The staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful. Excellent location for sight-seeing and shopping. Breakfast selection really good but as our stay was out of season that a menu card at the table would have given us a fresher breakfast and maybe more cost effective for the Hotel. Enjoyed our stay and would book again. The Hotel Staff need a chair behind the desk to sit on thats not going to give them a back problem.

The location was perfect and the room was comfortable enough for that price. The hotel staff was not so welcoming. They were a bit depressed due to Greek economy??

“An excellent choice for visiting Athens. Athens Gate made our stay a real pleasure. The hotel has a perfect location for tourists, is spotlessly clean, and we really liked the modern decor. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful, especially during the strikes. And, of course, the roof top garden breakfast with views of the Parthenon and city was a perfect way to start any day. A great place to stay and a real value for the money!” Kelly, Fallbrook |

The food in the hotel restaurant, is lovely well cooked and with a good presentation. Lokks like the hotel has a great manager! ” Rita, Saravalli |
