Best Western Amazon Hotel  

The reception staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Anastasia, Sotiris and Dimitri whom we saw more of than the others. Our room 607 had views of the Acropolis. We were offered an upgrade to their suite for one night – Room 700 is fabulous. If you book this room, you have private access to the whole roof garden of the hotel. From the roof garden you have spectacular 360° views of Athens. The housekeeping staff were also very good. The hotel location is central and easy to get to by metro from the Airport. It is within easy access to the Monastiraki Metro, the shopping areas, the Plaka restaurants, the Acropolis and other Athens attractions. The free Wi-Fi in the room worked very well.

The location is very good and the room is so comfortable

Due to the strike in Athens, especially - Transport including Taxi - we had to carry our Luggage for about 40 minutes , and walk through town to the Hotel. again, because of the strike - all tourist attractions were closed, including the acropolis. The only thing that remain to do was Shopping. The Hotel is central, small and the staff polite. and that is what I liked at the hotel. I missed a Lobby, where one can sit -as the reception is at the entrance,

As above. However -only after booking I realized -reading the small letters, that it does not include breakfast. That was sad. I think that the added value of the booking through you should be the breakfast!!!!

Breakfast not the greatest

Loved the location in the heart of the Plaka district, and the ease of finding it from the metro. I'm the kind of person who gets hopelessly lost, and I was all alone for this last night in Athens. But I found it without a hitch!

Well, the worst thing I can say about it is that it definitely has that impersonal "chain" hotel feeling. But really, my stay was very satisfactory.

Personnel was very kind and polite, with will to serve. The room was very tide and clean.

I am not complaining. It is a suggestion. Having breakfast they could offer 2-3 slices of fresh tomatoes or cucumbers. The shower in the room was a bit small.

5 minutes walking from airport bus to the hotel. The room is nice and clean. Free Wifi.

There are ants in the bathroom.

Location was excellent. Really central and convenient for visiting all major sites and shops. Good value for money.

Breakfast was a bit poor.

The young man at reception, Sotiris, was exceptionally helpful, giving us maps, repeated directions and suggestions to make our sightseeing go well. We really appreciated how pleasant he was. The location of the Amazon is excellent for

No facecloths, but we found that this is common in Greece and Italy. Bring your own or buy one of the many sponges in the market.

Staff

Everything worked, unlike a nearby hotel at same price I'd stayed at a few days previous. Excellent staff, especially Nadine, although one unhelpful woman at front desk occasionally. Generous breakfast by Greek hotel standards, plenty of hot water, good internet connection, nice room.

Location is perfect.
