Argo Hotel  

The whole Piraeus seemed to be a quite restless area, but the street where the hotel is is quiet.

The toilet in the room hadn't been cleaned properly; toilet looked dirty, stool in the toilet had shower gel and other dirt on it and the rug on the floor was dirty too. The "door" of the toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned for years, you did not want to touch it. The wallpapers on the room had started to fall off a bit and the whole room felt dated. The staff of the hotel could have been better, on the day of our arrival the woman in the reception was quite rude.

Generally, you get what you pay for. A taxi driver advised us that the area wasn't safe for two girls like us at night but generally we found it alright- quiet but nobody suspicious looking loitering around the hotel. The location isnt the easiest to find but is near the port. A plus if you're looking to catch an early ferry out to the islands. Room was generally clean.

You do get just a budget hotel - this means no amenities in the room like hairdryer or fridge. Small shower area (and I'm quite small, Asian girl) and absolutely no help at reception. Staff are pleasant but not exactly eager to help - I asked about luggage lockers at train stations and was told I'd have to find out myself there. All in all, you get the necessities but not much else. Also, note that Argo hotel and Anita hotel are pretty much run by the same team and are connected. I found my double room in Argo hotel much more spacious than that in Anita hotel which was more susceptible to noise from fellow guests coming in later at night.

The manager Tasos was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is close to the metro, port and also has loads of shops for buying local stuff. Best part was help of the staff in getting us ferry tickets and pick up and drop service from the port. The stay was made very comfortable.

The staff are amazing and always there to help. The shuttle to the port was an unexpected bonus:). The cleanliness was very nice to see in a budget hotel.

I have stayed at the Argo several times as a stopover prior to taking a ferry or on return from the islands. It is alwys clean and comfortable, the staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is good value with a reasonable variety.

It is situated close to the Port. I stayed there in order to catch an early morning ferry the next day.

Helpfull staff close to the port toprooms with good balcony the renovation thid is work good price for the service and breakfast we stay in the hotel for many years as we come to greece for one or two nights aswell in may june august or september I recomendt to friends and other travellers carry on

It was very close to the port, only a five minute or so walk away.

We requested a non-smoking, however we did not receive a non-smoking room. They tried to air it out, when we arrived the windows were open and the door was open, but that didn't help much. We arrived very late and had to get up early for the ferry (only in the room 5 hours). So we just delt with it.

Great location, close to small stores and markets.

We chosed this hotel because we had an early reservations to Santorini's ferry so we searched for an hotel next to the poirt.This is a good choice for one night, but it doesn't have a fridge in the room and the rooms are very small, so i won't stay there more than one night or if ypu stay more just tocome in the evening and sleep. But, all in all it was very good for us and at a goos price.A big plus is the parking-private, next to the hotel. We slept very good.

Good location if you need some where close to the port for a very short stay

Owner was very nice. He spoke good English with a slight Aussie accent, for some reason. The view is great. There is a market, close by but it is not great. The bus stop is close by, as well. Everything is within walking distance or a short bus ride and the bus system is pretty reliable.

Lots and lots of stairs. Wasn't that big a deal for us but I guess it could be for some. Aso, it is really hard to find the place. There is no sign. We walked around for a while, trying to find it and ended up at the owner's private home. He was nice about it but seemed annoyed that we didn't use the right door. But, there is no sign! Just the number 19 but there is also a 19a and a 19b and none of the look like hotels. He really needs to put up a sign. So, look for the orange door with wthe number 19 on it.
