Beautiful location with staff that looked after you and overall a very relaxing set-up. A wonderful place to visit.

A few slight niggles on the property such as the mossie blinds not closing properly (so got one or two mossie bites at night), beds too hard (although this was the same at all places we stayed at in Crete), one or two things in the kitchen didn't work properly like the corkscrew.

This was the best hotel of our holidays. The mesonette was simply amazing, well decorated with the best balcony ever. The pool is awesome with a great view and it's almost private since there is a pool for 2 rooms. Mr.George and his wife were very sympathic and we love the unexpeacted homemade breakfast they give us every morning without extra cost. We even got a dinner cooked by Mr.George wife free of charge! We were sad to leave the place...I guess it says everything.. We would definitly return to Aoritis and it's a place to stay if you go to Crete!

The only thing I should say I did not like was the two single beds instead of a double bed, but this is nothing compare to all the good things we loved in Aoritis!

    - Perfect locations for north and south coast - Enough space by pool with sun and shade - Every room has own bathroom and even one extra bathroom downstairs. - Daily several things for breakfast (bread, pie, sweets, yoghurt, ...) - Sometimes even free dinner - Cleaning 3 times a week with fresh towels

    - Sometimes not enough communication about cleaning and food - No airco in 1 of the 3 rooms - Washing machine is basic - No dishwasher

Beautifully furnished apartment (I even took pictures of the bathrooms!); patios in front and back for alfresco dining; wonderful full kitchen; refreshing private (!) pool; friendly hosts who bring you tons of food; convenient location not far from Spili (truly charming), a beautiful gorge, and beaches. It was the most luxurious place we stayed in Crete and well worth it.

No aircon in the bedroom, which meant we left the windows open, which meant we heard the teenagers who hang out at the nearby church until late at night. But otherwise we loved it!

The location up in the mountains. The view was the best even with no sea view. South beaches is a 25 min drive. Olga and George provided breakfast every morning. Refrigerator had waters although the water that comes out of the tap is great. Full kitchen with all plates and pans needed. Lots of coffee and tea in cabinet. Olga and George came to the rescue helping pick up our vans front right wheel, yes I drove off a wall that I didn't see, oops. If you are one that loves nature, sheep goats horses roosters flowers, the sound of sheep bells and good food then this is the place. My kids keep asking me to go back and live there.

Hard to find in the dark. we drove in to the little village instead up and around the top of the hill. Once in the village it is impossible to turn around, one has to back out the whole way, mostly because the 7 parking spots at the end of the road where taken due to the late hour of arrival and I had a 9 person van. That's it for what I didn't like the rest was great.

Stayed for 2 weeks in villa Rogalida. Beautiful view, personal pool, good wifi, delicious breakfast

Difficult to find for the first time, specially when you arrive at night. Nothing to do without a car. Before coming it's better to specify the type of villa you want, because there is a risk that you will need to move to another one. Some villas are located close to each other and don't have personal pools. Rooms there are small but nice decorated.

Great views, hospitality, home-made pastries each morning, great location to reach both sides of the island- preveli, damnoni, plakias, rethymno etc. Total relax and privacy in the villa, almost-private pool with nice sun-chairs. Overall best value-for-money we've stayed in Crete. Would go back!

This place is so beautiful inside and outside - and well suited for exploring western Crete. Host couple doing a great job to make you feel at home. Fantastic breakfast and great salt water pools. Would like to come back one day to enjoy this special rural atmosphere in the mountains...

Reception a little tricky to find. Remember cash for the payment.

The location of the villas is absolutely stunning with views out in to the mountains. You definitely need a car to get about here, but if that works for you you will be sorted. There are some lovely parts of Crete just a short drive away, along with lovely restaurants and the roads were very easy to navigate. Make sure you have sat nav though :) Thankfully when we arrived the othe rguests were there to give us the owner's mobile no. so we could get access to the property. Make sure you have this before arriving - we had booked only 24hrs in advance so were somewhat in a rush, but that was our own mistake for not checking. When we did meet George he was quick to arrive at the propert and seemed very kind. We actually were upgraded to the main house for the first few days of our holiday, which was great as we got a private pool with great views. He also left out a treat of cake, bread and some sort of tart every morning despite not booking B&B which was delicious. The place is very relaxing as it is very remote for people looking to get away and do their own thing rather than a package holiday. The pools were well maintained and the properties nice and clean. As mentioned all the things you could need are only a short drive away so all in all it was very enjoyable and I would definitely recommend it.

The only real problem I had was the lack of air con. It says that it has it on the website at booking level, but actually it only had it in one of the bedrooms in the main house, not both. It wasn't even an option when we stayed in the apartment higher up the hills which made it quite uncomfortable to sleep with the room being warm.

We booked Maisonette, but the owner upgraded us to a 140 m^2 villa on arrival. We loved the silence - it was so peaceful, so relaxing - amazing view over the valley of Lambini. The washing machine was just perfect - in the middle of our stay we made good use. On arrival we were welcomed by the owner George personally, one of the best hosts we ever had. He showed us our villa and we also received some coffee, honey, butter, marmalade and water in the fridge - all there for a breakfast. Every morning we received some home-baked bread as well as some cake (sweet) and some pie (tasty) - and the best was not to be charged for it. On 2 of our 5 nights George visited us in the evening to bring some cooked meat (pork & lamb) which he had prepared himself - also free of charge. The villa itself had a very well equipped kitchen, a dining area, 2 sitting areas (one with TV) and a toilet downstairs - upstairs there are 3 sleeping rooms, all with en-suite bathroom,a big four-poster bed (handmade by George) and a mosquito net. The nearby village Mixorrouma can be reached by car within 5 minutes - we used a small one with a very nice bakery (try their chocolate cookies they are to die for). If you prefer some bigger supermarkets, for example INKA supermarkets - those can be found in Spili - we used the one behind the big parking lot).

The only problem we encountered was to find the entrance: there are some signs for "Aoritis Villas" in Lambini, but the actual apartments are a little up the hill. We called George and he picked us up immediately - it is needed to call him as there is no reception.

We had the most amazing stay at Aoritis and we are already trying to plan our next trip here to bring our families! George was extremely welcoming and was on hand no matter what you needed. He even waved us off as we left! Breakfast was provided each morning and we even had an evening meal on our final night cooked for us. What could be more perfect than being sat overlooking the most incredible mountain views with a homecooked meal and a glass of red wine?! And that bring me on to the view...WOW just WOW! This was the perfect time of year to go - it wasn't too hot and it was green everywhere. Every room in the villas has been thought out to every last detail it was truly beautiful. It was an absolute pleasure to stay here and gave us the relaxing holiday we needed! Thank you Aoritis!! We can't wait to come back!

    - Very friendly owners: George and Olga did literally everything to give us and the kids a very relaxed week. eg: they brought us unexpected and authentic breakfast and supper - Location: very quiet area, nice view on the hills, yet only 2 minutes driving from a major road. All places seem to be exactly 35 minutes driving from the house - 2 nice locations, 300m away from each other on the same road. The larger uphill location is the prettier one, yet the two houses downhill (really next to the church) have their own patios and swimming pools, and are therefore more quiet.

The extreme friendlyness of the owners would make it futile to mention any minor and personal annoyances here

We liked it all. Aoritis Villas is a magical place, beautiful and comfortable. The owners are friendly and very helpfull. The region is breathtaking. It is easy to get around - To the mountains and the beaches. Lampini is a tiny quiet friendly village, very close to Spili, her a bit more dinamic sister. At Spili you can get all you need - Super Market, Restaurants (Costa and Maria's Taverna is recomended), Bank, Bakery, Coffee House

The privacy of our own pool, the breakfast kindly supplied by George

No tavernas within walking distance and as late autumn too cold to sit outside in the evening, and only 1 comfortable armchair to be able to relax after being out for dinner , meant very early bed no chill out with a glass of wine

George is a very gracious host and a talented baker. Each morning he brought us fresh baked bread and lite pastries, homemade! What a treat. We did not have a car as we enjoy walking, but George offered us rides into Spili and gave us a ride to the bus depot on the day we left. Aoritis Vilas was just what the doc suggested for a three day rest from traveling all over Greece. Could not have been better. What a beautiful place, both the villas and the surrounding mountains.

That we needed to move on in our travels.

Great alternative for families instead of getting a family suite or connecting rooms at a hotel. Villas are ecclectically designed. They brought us breakfast every morning. The owner was very nice and at the premises every day. It's about 20-30 minute drive to a few beaches on the south side.

Beds are the typical hard european beds.
