Chilly inside in the beginning of the season when it is not yet warm outside - I'm sure it is perfect for hot days.
Very friendly welcome and complimentary breakfast, location off the tourist-track
It was so beautiful! Directly inbetween precious mountains, with a wonderful view and silence to come down from everyday life! George, the owner, was really nice to us, gave us the best cake of our libes and was really interested to make the stay as comfortable as possible for us. And he made it! Everything just perfect! The house is cosy and really nice and fully equipped.
Maybe a better description of the directions to this place. Its above the village further on the road.
Outstanding in all aspects.
Having to leave this perfect place
The villa we rented was spacious and clean with two nice bedrooms both having an en-suite bathroom. The owner is very friendly and brings Cretan breakfast every morning. The house and pool are kept immaculately clean, with new bedlinnen and towels every 2-3 days. The view from the villa is stunning with mountains all around. The surroundings are very beautiful and with Spili 5 minutes away and Plakias and Rethimno less than 30 minutes it is the perfect place for hiking, beach, shopping, diving and eating.
Neighbour dog was barking all Night long Beds where very hard
Nice place, but far from everything except if you are hiking
Lack of lighting for reading in the living room area
Location, stunning mountain scenery, lovely breakfast provided every morning, friendliness and helpfulness of the owner
Outstanding cretan hospitality of local family, excellent facilities in the middle of the mountains, fantastic views, we would be coming again and again...
Loved the location which enabled us to tour Crete. The view was beautiful and our host George so helpful. The apartment was clean and comfortable and made our stay in Crete memorable. Alfred. Australia
The villa is beautiful and very comfortable with excellent air conditioning. The views from the private pool are lovely. The owners are extremely helpful. They left breakfast for us every day and also brought two evening meals for us. When we accidentally left some belongings behind they posted them back to us.
TheWiFi reception in our villa was a bit weak, but still usable and not that important in this place...
Location, view, decoration (amazing bathroom!). The owners were very kind and brought us breakfast in the morning with fresh juice, fresh pastry and bread. Sometimes they brought us a delicious home made dinner. We were delighted and amazed!
-There were hairs in the bathtub. -The pool was private but people were passing by, having clear view. -Only one of the bedrooms had aircondition. -No towels for the swimming pool.
-Absence of noise. -Really big house in this price. -More than one yard.
A few slight niggles on the property such as the mossie blinds not closing properly (so got one or two mossie bites at night), beds too hard (although this was the same at all places we stayed at in Crete), one or two things in the kitchen didn't work properly like the corkscrew.
Beautiful location with staff that looked after you and overall a very relaxing set-up. A wonderful place to visit.
Few places to eat nearby.
Remote and quiet with nice views. Very nicely designed villas/appartments, Indoor and outdoor. We were offered breakfast every morning and supper a few times, which was not advertised as included. Nice but small pools.
The only thing I should say I did not like was the two single beds instead of a double bed, but this is nothing compare to all the good things we loved in Aoritis!
This was the best hotel of our holidays. The mesonette was simply amazing, well decorated with the best balcony ever. The pool is awesome with a great view and it's almost private since there is a pool for 2 rooms. Mr.George and his wife were very sympathic and we love the unexpeacted homemade breakfast they give us every morning without extra cost. We even got a dinner cooked by Mr.George wife free of charge! We were sad to leave the place...I guess it says everything.. We would definitly return to Aoritis and it's a place to stay if you go to Crete!
We came back for the second time. It is a must now in our holidays! Wonderful!
- Sometimes not enough communication about cleaning and food - No airco in 1 of the 3 rooms - Washing machine is basic - No dishwasher
- Perfect locations for north and south coast - Enough space by pool with sun and shade - Every room has own bathroom and even one extra bathroom downstairs. - Daily several things for breakfast (bread, pie, sweets, yoghurt, ...) - Sometimes even free dinner - Cleaning 3 times a week with fresh towels
No aircon in the bedroom, which meant we left the windows open, which meant we heard the teenagers who hang out at the nearby church until late at night. But otherwise we loved it!
Beautifully furnished apartment (I even took pictures of the bathrooms!); patios in front and back for alfresco dining; wonderful full kitchen; refreshing private (!) pool; friendly hosts who bring you tons of food; convenient location not far from Spili (truly charming), a beautiful gorge, and beaches. It was the most luxurious place we stayed in Crete and well worth it.
Hard to find in the dark. we drove in to the little village instead up and around the top of the hill. Once in the village it is impossible to turn around, one has to back out the whole way, mostly because the 7 parking spots at the end of the road where taken due to the late hour of arrival and I had a 9 person van. That's it for what I didn't like the rest was great.
The location up in the mountains. The view was the best even with no sea view. South beaches is a 25 min drive. Olga and George provided breakfast every morning. Refrigerator had waters although the water that comes out of the tap is great. Full kitchen with all plates and pans needed. Lots of coffee and tea in cabinet. Olga and George came to the rescue helping pick up our vans front right wheel, yes I drove off a wall that I didn't see, oops. If you are one that loves nature, sheep goats horses roosters flowers, the sound of sheep bells and good food then this is the place. My kids keep asking me to go back and live there.
Difficult to find for the first time, specially when you arrive at night. Nothing to do without a car. Before coming it's better to specify the type of villa you want, because there is a risk that you will need to move to another one. Some villas are located close to each other and don't have personal pools. Rooms there are small but nice decorated.
Stayed for 2 weeks in villa Rogalida. Beautiful view, personal pool, good wifi, delicious breakfast
Great views, hospitality, home-made pastries each morning, great location to reach both sides of the island- preveli, damnoni, plakias, rethymno etc. Total relax and privacy in the villa, almost-private pool with nice sun-chairs. Overall best value-for-money we've stayed in Crete. Would go back!
Reception a little tricky to find. Remember cash for the payment.
This place is so beautiful inside and outside - and well suited for exploring western Crete. Host couple doing a great job to make you feel at home. Fantastic breakfast and great salt water pools. Would like to come back one day to enjoy this special rural atmosphere in the mountains...
