The location was the seedy part of town

the buffet breakfast was quite good; we looked forward to it every morning. It is also a short distance from the Omonia Metro station, which makes it very easy to reach most parts of Athens quickly.

Some of the neighboring streets were seedy, not good places to walk at night.

Everything. Great hotel, close to metro and with very helpful staff. One of the best hotel experiences we've ever had.

Very helpful and friendly staff. A relaxed atmosphere, and the hotel was nice and quiet. Good value for money.

I particularly liked the atmosphere in the hotel, with many original paintings on the walls and sculptures in the public areas. The location, close to Omonia, Museums and Exarchia was exactly what we wanted. There was quite a lot of traffic noise but the room was comfortable.

Absolutely great staff, very friendly and very helpful. We even got a late check-out free of charge. The breakfast is also diversified. In short we totally enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is second to none when it comes to its staff. Simply amazing staff who are always there to help and dedicated to customer's satisfaction. I can definitely say the staff of Art Hotel Athens are the best I ever seen (out of 100+ hotels I stayed at). The location is good, quite close to main amenities. Omonia st is 5 mins walk and a cab to Sintagma or Plaka will cost no more than 5 euros.

The are around the hotel is said to be dodgy and sometimes dangerous for tourists. But during a week's stay, we did not face any hazards as such.

The staff is very very nice and helpful. The hotel is clean and quiet (and it's quite different from the neighboround around).

The hotel was very comfortable and clean. The staff were also very helpful and very friendly. Cannot find a fault really.

There was nothing we didn't like about the hotel - the only reservation is the area - would not feel comfortable walking in this area at night

The location was good as it was only 5-10 minutes walk to the metro and was relatively central. The staff were very friendly. The overall atmosphere of the hotel was pleasant, the decor was fine but only needed a face-lift and a good cleaning.

I was shocked that a 4 star hotel could be so unclean, shabby and run dowm. When we arrived the our room was not ready due to plumbing problems so we were given a small and horrid room, which looked like it had not been used for a long time! Then when we got into our room, although much better than the one we slept in, it was still shamby and unclean. One day they didnt clean our room at all and we had to moved to another room (rather worst than the one we left with creeky floor and bad plumbing). Not to mention breakfast was under par, dirty cutlery etc, the list goes on. Overall, not a pleasant stay! I'm afriad I cannot recommend this hotel at all

Friendly atmosphere great staff

The staff are amazing and they bend over backwards to make your stay pleasurable. The perfect place to stay!

The best thing about the Art Hotel Athens was the wonderful staff. From the minute we arrived, they made my group feel very welcome and were incredibly helpful. The front of house staff made fantastic recommendations for areas of town to go wine and dine (Gazi is an amazing neighborhood)!, and even offered to make us an all-inclusive breakfast before departing at FIVE am! I have nothing but good things to say about the staff. Aside from the staff, the rooms are large, each have their own unique style, the breakfast is lovely, and it is an overall comfortable atmosphere for the outrageously low rate they offered.

Some areas surrounding the hotel were a little rough - nothing to be too concerned about if you are traveling with a group of people or walking around during the day. Like any big city, it's good to be aware of your surroundings. As for the actual hotel - I have nothing but positive feedback.

We had booked a junior suite and very delighted to receive a spacious room, tastefully furnished, cum bathroom and a large veranda on two corners of our room. LAN was available. The kindness and helpfullness of the staff are remarkable. We would like to thank all, but mention here in particular Mrs. Miranda. Among other reasons, we had booked the Art Hotel Athens for its central position: It is located in walking distance to the Omonia metro station (appr. 5 min.), which links to Acropolis and Plaka. The National Archaeological Museum again is in walking distance at Marni Street. It is therefore a good place for all who want to explore Athens' major museums.

The hotel is very nice, well decorated and the rooms are quite comfortable. The staff was really very nice, helping us feeling welcome in the city and helping in every way. The location is quite good, near city centre, although at night this area becomes less secure, so the use of taxi was recommended. At night a short trip from Plaka can charged maximum 5 euros, very acceptable.

THe area is not very safe or nice.

We had a great stay in the Art hotel. Margarida at the receptiondesk was extreemly kind and helpfull. We had a wonderfull roofterrace connected to our room, which we enjoyed at night. The breakfast was extended and offers lots of choices.Even the roomservices was exeptional good, kind and not expensive. The bubble bath was great after a hot day in the city. We found the location interesting, the real Athens; we have not felt any dangours.Although I wouldn't like our daugthers to go out alone at night. (But that goes for any European big city) Whenever we go back to Athens we would stay here again!

Good location. It is an easy walk to the Plaka and also very near the National Museum. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is on a busy street, but the rooms are well sound proofed. Rooms are large and well furnished. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend Art Hotel to our friends.

The hotel staff were very friendly and warm. It felt like staying at a known person's place.

The surroundings don't seem to be the best. We had an incident of chain snatching where my wife's chain almost got snatched outside the hotel. I guess this may not be the hotel's fault but then we were a bit shocked to see this happen at a place that is quite busy and close to the city center. The speed of service is not too fast and can be improved. Internet/wifi also was an issue initially but got resolved later
