great location on a quiet small road near Acropolis helpfull and warm staff typical breakfast
old furniture the doors and windows need restoring
Nice and helpful owner and staff. Located in a pleasant neighborhood. Very close to the Acropolis, public transport lines, within walking distance to many touristic spots.
The cold shower in th emorning due to lack of hot water
Location: excellent, quiet neighbourhood, away from the dirt and the noise of the city, but still 200m away from the Acropolis rock, everything one needs nearby: mini markets, pharmacies, dry cleaners, cafeterias, restaurants, bars, bus and metro stations, bakery, shops. Staff: quite polite and willing to help, with just a few exceptions. Room: satisfying size, enough for 1 person. Bathroom: partly renovated, well-sized and clean. Bed: beautiful, had good sleeps on a nice hard mattress, perfect for my back. Tiny refrigerator: worked excellent, keeping yoghurt and water cold. Lounge area on the 4th floor: beautiful warm and cozy atmosphere, ideal for a cup of coffee, a drink or a cigar in the evening. Wifi: excellent in the room and the lounge and the reception.
Air-conditioning: was not working well, unable to make a small room warm and cozy on cold December nights. Needs upgrading. A hair dryer could be very useful. The rooms in general need renovation, especially when it comes to furniture and walls. It seems though, that few steps renovating some parts of the building such as the elevator have been done. They need to be continued though, there is lots of work to be done, because the building is old.
Location: excellent in a quiet neighbourhood just under the Acropolis rock, away from the dirt and the noise of the city, with mini markets, pharmacies, dry cleaners, cafeterias, restaurants, bars, bus and metro stations. Staff: almost all of the staff smiling, very polite and willing to help. Room: satisfying size, comfortable for 1 or 2 persons, clean and quiet, away from the street. Bed: perfect for my back, had good sleeps on a nice hard mattress. Bathroom: partly renovated, well-sized and clean. Tiny refrigerator: worked excellent, keeping yoghurt and water cold. Lounge area on the 4th floor: beautiful warm, cozy and relaxing atmosphere, ideal for a cup of coffee, a drink or a cigar in the evening. Wifi: excellent everywhere.
Air-conditioning: should be working better, in order to make a small room warm. A good idea could be to add hair dryers in the room.
Very old furniture! Smell of smoke in the room, furnuture are blocken, not close to the centre.. Never back there!!! Never!!!!
Nice hotel in a non-touristy area of Athens, yet very close to Acropolis and it's museum. It was only a short walk to a fantastic Greek restaurant with super outdoor eating area, and very close to trolley bus and metro services. Very friendly and helpful staff, and all under the watchful (if sleepy) eyes of the hotel cat! Couldn't ask for more - great stay
The hotel lift is quaint - me and a suitcase and it was full! But beats lugging a case up the stairs.
Great location Arty the cat Big rooms Friendly staff Individual style of hotel Lovely breakfast room
Great location, you can go walking to the Acropolis. Welcoming people, great guest giving you information & maps. You feel like home. Good value quality-price.
The lift is out of the order some often. However, the employees are always willing to help you.
1. Only the location
1. Rude staff - My opening line was - hi, my name is ... & I have a booking at this hotel. - The reply - yes, I know you have a booking because if not, you will not be here. Also, you are here too early. Worldwide, the check in time is 2pm (we were there at around 1230pm & btw, their website stated that the check in time was from 1230 - 2pm) 2. 2nd rate treatment - maybe cos we look 'too happy' & too young to be experienced travellers 3. The bed was hard 4. We were told that that our double room was not available & that we were 'upgraded' to the suite with fantastic view. The suite had 2 double beds & 1 single bed (we were on our honeymoon). The smell was musty & the bathroom had moss & was leaking.
A good hotel for what we wanted which was a hotel in a convenient location at a reasonable price. Staff very nice and room very clean. We would certainly return.
Lovely balcony with an excellent view of the Acropolis.
The location is terrific. The hotel is close to the Acropolis and the Acropolis museum but you aren't in the middle of the tourist area. We stayed at the Art Gallery twice, the first time we had a room at the back which I don't recommend. The second time we had a room facing the street and it was very good.
I loved looking up and seeing Acropolis hill from in front of the hotel. We walked to it a couple of times. Very helpful staff made great suggestions for restaurants, routes, etc.
While the rooms were non-smoking, we were bothered by smoke from outside the room.
Hotel needs renovation
Location is just a short walk to the Acropolis and also close to a Metro stop. The breakfast was good.
We were given a room with very uncomfortable beds. You could feel the springs in the mattress. When we complained, we felt the staff were quite rude about it, saying "I suppose you have already used the room". They did move us to another room with a somewhat better mattress but were reluctant to let us lay on the bed to assess whether this was an improvement.
The hotel is well located, minutes away from the Acropolis and many restaurants. The room was large and clean. The staff is welcoming and helpful.
We got a internal room, looking into an air duct. It was a bit dark and not airy.
Friendly staff Quiet terrace bar
Bathroom was a bit dated (although clean and functional)
Small hotel on a side street with a friendly and helpful staff; within walking distance to many historical sites, local cafes, and shops; two metro stops in area; safe neighborhoods.
Perfect location Friendly staff
Quite Old hotel so don t expect design bathrooms...
Comfortable room, pleasant helpful staff, close to the Acropolis, on a good trolley route and close to the metro too. Also within 50 metres of a nice pedestrian area including various bars and the crazily good value Diva Pizza. Simple old lift - very fast. One or two tables on the top floor balcony (breakfast and also evening bar) have view of Acropolis. Aircon. Our room had a small balcony as well, looking out on the interesting street.
Bathroom a bit shabby. Windows not closing properly - might be an issue in the winter. Keep your hands away from the moving bits of the lift.
The location, the familiar attention and a fair price-quality ratio.
The noise. It was nearly impossible to sleep in in the morning after 7.00 pm. You can hear the water coming down from the showers and the toilets in nearby rooms and also all the noise in the stairs, hallways, etc.
Served good coffee and fresh fruit with breakfast. Interesting setting. Good restaurants nearby as well as many of the great places to vist.
Mattress springs a bit too near the surface in our room for one jetlagged lady!
Location, value and an extremely accommodating staff. They helped us book our ferries to the island and had a taxi waiting for us the next morning! Perfect for everyone planning to see the acropolis and get out of athens.
Bed could have been a bit more comfortable but no real complaints. Great price for the location.
The staff where friendly and helpful. The hotel has character and is located near a pleasant strip of local (non tourist) restaurants. it was also only 5 minutes walk from the Acropolis and metro.
The air con wasn't great, either too hot or too cold.
