Situated 400 metres from the beach of Karlovassi in Samos, the family-run Astir Hotel features a pool and a traditional restaurant. It offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi and a balcony overlooking the Aegean Sea or the town. Featuring carpeted floors and a flat-screen satellite TV, all rooms at the family-run Astir come with a fridge. Each has a private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. Guests can enjoy Continental breakfast at the restaurant. Home-cooked Greek dishes including vegetarian options are served during dinner. Drinks are served at the bar until late in the evening. This is a wonderfully quiet and welcoming hotel, with outstanding and warm attention above and beyond the line of duty from Theo and his mother Argostyro. There is a beautifully clean swimming pool with mountains in the background and leisurely, lovingly prepared breakfasts on the terrace. We were exceptionally well looked after and found our two weeks here very calming after a busy time. Cheap and reasonable local restaurants. Karlovasi isn't the most attractive town on Samos but makes a good base for beaches (especially spectacular Potami which is a short bus ride away) and walking. We made good use of the local buses and you can be out in the most glorious countryside 20 minutes walk from the hotel. The towels!

We like the quite environment and the swimming pool and breakfast area wih a very nice green area and gentle breeze. We also like the family atmosphere and the people who run it, very friendly and helpful if you get a room with a city view, the sun comes up on that side and its very hot in the morning, if you travel in the hot months of course

Astir is a very nice hotel on a quiet location, with great views while sitting on the balcony. The hotel has a big, very well-kept, garden and a nice little pool. A little square with good tavernas is nearby. The walk to the harbour of Karlovassi takes you about 20 minutes, along the seaside. The mother and son who run the hotel serve a very good breakfast and they are extremely sympathetic people. Highly recommended! The shower is rather small.

The owners are incredibly friendly and nice people, they help and get out of their way to make your stay the most pleasant one! The rooms are spotless and nice, the breakfast is excellent.

Wonderful welcome. Theo was extremely attentive and went out of his way to make sure that our stay was perfect. Excellent continental breakfast with very fresh ingredients. A good base for hiking. Several simple tavernas and a supermarket nearby. Nothing to report.
