wifi is ok because our room is near to reception. We had two bed in triple room, they put us in a private room.
Owner do not know much about online paying. (before 2days, booking.com takes the fee and you have to explain this to owner)
- Dirty showers & bathrooms - Outdated - Charged twice for my stay (all you do is sign a book when you get there. I got an email shortly after saying I didn't show up for my reservation and was charged for my stay, meanwhile I paid cash to the owner) - Very busy hostel (took us a while to get anything we needed from the owner ie. towels, sheets) - Unorganized - 2 groups showed up after us with a reservation and were unable to stay there since they were overbooked - I booked a 3 bedroom private suite and ended up staying with other guests - 10 euro for a bed - you get what you pay for!!!!!! - horrible location (bad neighborhood, taxi driver warned us when dropping us off)
The hotel owner was a great man with good hospitality and the staff was very helpful, the rooms were clean and neat, overall a good place
Had a hard time finding the hotel at first and the WiFi isnt working most of the time
the only good thing about this hostel is a stuff in reception(not the owner).A girl she was really helpfull. Localisation is not bad but its dangerous area.
The hostel is terrible, at pics looks quite good but reality is different. The owner is a strange person. I booked triple room and i got 5beds room. Bathroom is looking really bad. In the kitchen the smell is horrible, plates and other kitchen stuff were dirty. I even didnt get my blanket. So Im not recommending it at all
There was a kitchen and good location.
We booked a room of 3 beds and they give us a room with 5 beds. Strange staff. Poor WiFi signal. Shower with cold water.
Cheap and clean.
Staff. They are really weird. With the owner on top. For some reasons they don't care about your reservation. They give you a bed in a dorm and it doesn't matter you reserved a private room.
- Free use of internet and printer. - Very friendly personnel - City centre reachable by walking, metro close by - Nice atmosphere!
i liked that there was a fan in the room at athens house which werent to be found in many other hotels at this price.
where to start? i had my booking confirmed by 10am the day i arrived and i got to the hotel at 5pm...when i arrived in the lobby there were 5 other woman waiting indefinitely...i was informed we had to wait for the manager to come to check us in...and it would be 10 or 15 minutes...an hour later i asked when manager would arrive and they said "just wait..it wont be long!" i said i wanted to go out for dinner and they said i just should wait but wouldnt confirm a time. i went out for dinner for 2 hours...when i came back at 8pm i was told my room has been booked out so i would get a dormitory room...with another girl who had also booked a private room. i was so tired i accepted it and was told i only would pay the dorm rate...i was given sheets but had to request a towel...was then given a towel that had clearly been ripped in half...i then showered but couldnt get hot water... when i got out of the shower my room my roommate was asleep-it was 11pm and i had turned the lights off for about 5 minutes when the manager came in the room and informed us we had to move out of the room coz.it was booked..i argued it was crazy especially since i didnt get my original room i had booked then why do we get moved out now...but i think the people who came were going to stay for a week so they could make more money? roommate had to wake up and change out of her pyjamas...i was told to hurry up and be happy cozlife is beautiful and not be sad...put in a cab with the manager and he tookus 5 minutes drive away-i had no idea where i even was and was booked into another room at 1130pm in a separate hotel...i clarified i could still have midday checkout here...they said yes i could checkout at 12pm or 1pm. ..but at 1030 i was woken up by a worker who wanted to show another (male) customer the room to rent it...i was made to hide in the bathroom in only a towel (as they knocked agressively at the door so i just had to wrap a towel around me) while the customer was shown...
It is very well located, near restaurants and shops. It is possible to go walking to the Acropolis (about 25 minutes).
Poor Wi Fi signal, terrible facilities: there was no shower curtain, so the water splashes all over the bathroom. The staff seem unprepared to deal with the guests, and a little bit disorganised.
Comfortable reception couch and good wifi connexion. Beside this, I couldn't find anything nice, it was a nightmare and a loss of time.
Had to wait for 2.5 hours at the reception, waiting for the "manager". All this to finally be refused, because they where fully booked (even though I had booked in advance online!!). 7 other people in the same situation. Receptionist very rude. I would definitely not recommend it. The Athens International Youth Hostel is 5 min away, much much better and same price!
The man on reception was nice
Don't book here they always over book & first come first serve.. There was 6 ppl left stranded at 10pm
very friendly staff low prize familiar and cozy atmosphere of the hostel location near to metro station and city centre
location around the hotel (dangerous and dirty) clogged toilets poor sound insulation (we could hear everything going on in the corridor and neighbouring rooms)
The staff was really friendly
The neighbourhood wasn´t the best and far away from the most importan turists points of the city The building could use some maintenance and the hostel as well. Both the common area and the kitchen were not confortable at all and small
The cockraoches didnt add to the atmosphere, and the fight that broke out in the hall at 7 in the morning also wasn't great. The beds were uncomfortable and the stand up fans worked overtime to keep us cool in the Athens heat. It was also unpleasant receiving an electric shock from the lift, making stairs with heavy suitcases the safer option.
Everything seemed so filthy that we decided to sleep on top of our blankets. The toilets and showers where so dirty that we decided not to shower there. The owner was so strange and creepy that my friend asked me lock the door twice so that she could be sure that he is not entering. In the next morning another girl we met also mentioned that she just arrived is kind of scared of the place and the owner. Since we where not sure if the payment would be done be credit card or cash we asked the owner before leaving and he became really angry insisting that he have told that like a hundred times already (we stayed for one night and both could not remember him saying anything about that). Finally he asked us to write down and sign it in his book that we already have paid by credit card so that we would remember it. Really strange person!
The location is good since it is near the metro, the bus stops and easy to get a taxi if you need one. If you are on a budget and staying for a couple of days, the place is quite comfortable for the price your paying. The host is very friendly also.
There seemed to be good people about.
Owner is strange, but admittedly helpful. Mattress was collapsed at hip level. Showers not that great - handheld
you can see it is a very old house, with super old facilities, they will put u into another room with others without notices, even you ordered bed in double room of triple, finally you will find that in one room will have at least 4 people, mix genders.
The location was good close to Plaka
After reserving and upon arrival at 10pm night, I was told a member of staff booked my reservation over for someone else. They were rude and not apologetivc at all. Not helpful. Very strange place, or your saftey, don't go. Youth Hostel was much better and they took care of us. Go to youth hostel!
Very clean comfortable and quit room, with a big balcony, nice atmosphere and really helpful and friendly staff. Located in the center of Athens makes it a perfect choice for sightseeing and provides excellent access from and to the airport. recommended
Location is convenient and WIFI was also good. The balcony from my room was nice.
I do not recommend this hostel if you are travelling alone, specially in high season when tourists come and go every single day. I was not able to get one single night of sleep because there was always movement and noise in the room at any time. The owner allows more reservations than the ones he can actually provide given the small size of the hostel, he is completely disorganized. They charged my card even before my arrival to the place, thing that I think is completely rude and dishonest!!! and they put me in a 4-bed room when I booked a bed in a 3-bed room.
We don't know what to start with...Let's go step by step! When we arrived our room wasn't cleaned. We left and came back at night, and the room was already clean. It wasn't the best arrival The toilets, shower and the corridor were not clean. Only on our second day someone came to clean it. Very noisy at night. We asked for a towel (1€ fee) and it was dirty, and he didn't want to change it, only after insisting he accepted it. After this, we couldn't believe what happened! We saw more than 5 people coming at night, with already booked rooms, and the responsible man told them "I'm sorry we are full, you have to search for another hotel", and didn't even tried to help them. So some slept in the reception on the couch, with the TV on, and other gathered some chairs on the kitchen and slept on it. Incredible... We hope that this feedback help to improve their service, preventing future mistakes like this to happen again.
Pretty close to everything, mainly to the Acropolis.
Terrible welcome, they don't really seem to care about you anyway. It really smells cigar in the common area, no ac in the rooms and totally needs a rebuilding. You know what, there are better places for almost the same price.
