Athens way was great. I stayed after arriving to Piraeus from a late ferry. Because of a taxi strike, the staff at the hotel arranged for a private car to transport me from the port to the hotel. The accommodations were very modern, comfortable, and clean. I cannot say much of the location as I only stayed the night and left for the airport the next day, but walking to the metro the next morning was quite convenient (~10 min walk). Loved the breakfast as well - wide selection, free wireless internet connection, and helpful staff.

The hotel was great value for money. The breakfast was good and the rooms quite modern. The lovely bath towels (thick and good quality) were a nice touch and a luxury feature. Also, the gentleman who met us at the reception upon our late arrival was friendly and helpful. Overall, I would happily recommend this hotel.

The staff was so kind and the room are really soundproof so the main problem of the hotel, that is its being on a very busy street, does not actually arise...and falling asleep at night was easy and comfortable. The breakfast was rich (for comment on the coffee se the section below). The only cons was the coffee they serve at breakfast, which is from vending machine. So not a good quality. But it is obviously an negligible aspect!

Very warm and responsive staff. Also facilities in our room like the jacuzzi and kitchenette made our stay all the more comfortable and enjoyable. Plus the hotel is surrounded by lovely independent shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay there again !

The hotel seems quite new, the rooms design is modern, and they are very confortable, nice and large (and we were in the small type!). The buffet breakfast is set in the top floor with a clear view. The staff is absolutely wonderful. The women in charge of reception is more than helpful and lovely. The neigbourhood is quiet. The location is perfect: ten minutes walking to the National Archaeological Museum (do not lose it!),five minutes to the metro (Panepistimio station),one station to Sintagma, two to Acropoli. Close to Valtetsiou street, wich is full of nice restaurants when arriving to the small triangle square.

We felt safe walking around the neighborhood. There were several nice restaurants just around the corner from the hotel. The rooms were clean, comfortable and sound proof. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful as Greek people in general. We enjoyed our stay at Athens Way. It is in general a nice and quiet Hotel. I would stay there again. Would have been nice to be closer to the metro station. It was a bit of a walk every time we wanted to use the metro. The breakfast buffet could have more variety and the bread was often dry.

Room was spacious with a small kitchen area, furnishing while not impressive were pretty new looking. Nice roof terrace for morning breakfast. 15 min walk from syntagma square. But wasnt too big an issue for me cos it was only a eur 3 cab ride from plaka. (Additional info: eur 13 cab ride to piraeus port at around 8pm, non-peak traffic). Neighbourhood looks a bit rundown but was rather safe (there were a lot of police near the beginning of ippokratous road - but that made me wonder if they were stationed there cos the neighbourhood was riot-prone??)

The view from the upstairs restaurant was exceptional and the staff were extremely freindly and helpful. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay, particularly the yogurt! Quiet and convenient location from the centre of town. The closest metro stop is about a 15 minute walk. Highly recommended.

“An excellent choice for visiting Athens. Athens Gate made our stay a real pleasure. The hotel has a perfect location for tourists, is spotlessly clean, and we really liked the modern decor. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful, especially during the strikes. And, of course, the roof top garden breakfast with views of the Parthenon and city was a perfect way to start any day. A great place to stay and a real value for the money!” Kelly, Fallbrook |
