The staff was really helpful and kind, very service minded. The rooms are enormous, some of them with a view over the Acropolis. The cleaness of the room, especially of the bathroom, was not so good. A colleague of mine found a mushroom behind the wc... There is a smell of sewage in some of the rooms. This is not appropriate for a 5 stars hotel. The tv screen was very small, making almost impossible to watch the tv from the bed. But worst of all, the area around the hotel is very dangerous. Women are not advised to go out on their own, even in daylight.

Beautiful site from the roof-pool. Very nice lobby bar. Very good rooms. Terrible neighborhood. Hotel is surrounded by drug addicts, robbers... Always use taxi or public transportation, don't go by foot especially when it's dark!

Hotel was really nice, especially the rooftop with the most amazing Acropolis view. Food was decently priced and tasted good, breakfast was best I've ever had. Metro station was really close and even the area wasn't bad at all, even tho some tourists said it was a bit shady, but that's Greece in general if you're used to something else. Room was nice, I got updated from Standard to Deluxe, view from the room wasn't the best one, but not the worst either. It's not like we spent our week looking at the view from room window. Front desk staff was really nice, restaurant did fit to five star hotel perfectly. I would definitely come back to this hotel, and that might happen really soon. My hotel room carpet was most horrible ever (color & pattern), but it's not like I stayed in looking at it the whole vacation. Entrance to the hotel was hard to find the first time, but in the end it was nice that it wasn't right next to the main street.

When we realized that the batheroom was not working, The staffs were very helpful to arrange another room for us. The location was not so convienent, it's not located at the city centre so had to take metro to get there, though it took only 15 mins.

The hotel is excelent with a great view from Acropole. The Hotel is very close to the subway, which makes the life a lot easier. The breakfast is very expensive and the roof swiming pool is always booked for private parties during the weekend (specially on Saturday). We also had several issues with the Internet, which was not available most of the time (for a hotel of this category, they should have a redundant connections). The neighborhood is not one of the best, since it is not very safe to walk around.

Very polite and helpful staff. The breakfast was excellent. Parking service was excellent. I would recommend this hotel. The bed mattress was squeaky The swimming pool needs a renovation with some ceramic tiles (The pool, not the area of the pool) Overall we had a very pleasant stay

Spacious and comfortable room and bathroom (with view of the Akropolis!). Convenient position to move around Athens by metro and to/from airport. Nice conference rooms. Excellent breakfast (one of the best ever) Hotel is getting a little worn out and could do with some refurbishing. Nevertheless it continues to represent good value for money.

The view at the roof top restaurant and pool was nice. While you are dinning or swimming in the pool, you could see the Acropolis. It gets better at night when the ruins light up. The bathroom had a great shower head, it was very wide. Yes, the view from the roof was great. However, the Acropolis is on a hill so you could see it from almost any hotel. I honestly don't know how this hotel received 5 stars. The location of this hotel is in a downtown area with many homeless people sleeping on the streets. The bed was so uncomfortable. It was like they just stacked a bunch of cardboard on top of each other. The view from my window was an apartment building. I saw a fat, naked lady in her home - that was the last time we had the curtains open. The business center was free but the computer was low on ink. I did report the printer to the staff but when I printed the next day, it was still low. Also, did you know that if you make a booking from Booking.com, you can only make modifications to your booking through them? We decided to leave this hotel early and Classical Athens Imperial wouldn't allow us to make any changes. Luckily, Booking.com responded to my email in a few minutes. Be sure to write down the address and phone number of this hotel. None of the taxi drivers knew where this hotel was and the language barrier made it worst. We had to check with 6 different drivers before we found one that had a gps system in his cab.

This Hotel is very reasonably priced for the facilities on offer. The rooms were much more spacious than those in similar hotels we looked at, with a large and comfortable double bed, decent furniture and a large, clean, marble-tiled bathroom with bath and shower. We requested by email a room high up the hotel and were allocated a room on the top floor with a great view across Athens including the Acropolis. The staff were courteous and friendly and the breakfast was extremely good with a larger variety than we normally find in similarly priced establishments. We had no problems with the hotel at all, but we cannot agree with the 5 stars rating. From a five star hotel in a European capital city we would expect impeccable service and attention to detail, and all possible facilities available at other renowned five star hotels. This was not the case; the decor was tired and a little worn; there were maintenance issues (our curtains did not quite close properly as some of the hooks were broken), the lifts were noisy and slow, the pool was out of order, the pool bar closed at 6.00pm (so we couldn't watch the sunset) and when it was open they played a terrible radio station over distorted speakers. Not serious issues we know, but enough to mean that the rating is innacurate.

I had limited time at the hotel, but the room was spacious, I had a beautiful view over the Akropolis and Lycabettus and breakfast was one of the best ever. The area is a bit rundown and even though I was on the 6th floor, I could still hear the traffic. I am a light sleeper, but the noise level at the lower floors must be difficult to bear for everyone.

The service of the various staff members was good, when asking for a taxi, restaurant recommendations, etc. The breakfast selection was ample and food very good. The bathroom amenity kit was of high quality. The location is convenient for transport as it across the street from a metro stop. The neighborhood, Metaxourgeio, isn't the best. The quality is not sufficient for a five star, more like a business four star.

When I arrived in the evening the front- desk staff was professional, if a bit stand-offish. My impression, as an out-of-towner, was not very good. I met "Effie" near the end of my second day and all of that changed. She was delightful, anticipating my needs without explanation. She helped book tours, reccomended restaurants and sights to see and places to go to get a feel for the real Greece. At breakfast the R&B staff was more than accommodating each morning. The beakfast, itself was great...many choices, good food. I found the rooms clean and very comfortable. The fitness center is more like something one would find in a residence, not a five star hotel. The Business center is rudimentary at best, not near adequate. The location appears kind of seedy, but I had no problem or apprehension about moving about the neighborhood after dark.

The hotel is excellent, all the facilities, the rooms, the restaurant and breaksfast is very rich. The surroundings of the hotel are full of drug addicts and poor foreigners which makes it difficult for someone to walk from and to the hotel. I would not recommend the hotel for families with children although the hotel facilities are great.

(1.) After you walk out from Metaxourgio Metro (exit to Karaiskaki sq), you will see the hotel is just in front of you-very easy to find. (2.) To me I don't care to see the view from room that much cause I will see it from sight seeing anyway, so the room look nice and comfortable enough for me, I sleep like a baby on the bad, i stay at the main road side but it's not so noisy (noise protection is good). (3.) Free wireless internet connection is very good 4.) Facilities is very enough, iron , bath, radio. (5.) it's about 10 mins walk on small scary road to night life area... I walk on that street in the middle of night to gay club in Gazi many times, no problem (1.) have to pay extra if you take taxi in front of hotel, but if you walk just a little bit to Karaiskaki square, you can get normal price taxi. (2.) would be so nice if breakfast is free (3.) I got only one bottle of free water to drink during my 7 days of staying - i expect to have 1 new bottle everyday. (4.) I'm dentist, I saw every hotel provide shampoo, bathgel but there's no where I have been provide Tooth Brush and Tooth Paste, in my opinion, it would be really nice if the hotel concern about this and provide tooth brush and tooth paste too. :D

The room was not clean [there was dust on the furnishers and mold in the bathroom], the stuff was very helpful and kind except one rood lady that spoiled everything. The hotel is nearby ‘metaxurgio metro’ but you have to walk to get to the hotel [you have to cross the metaxurgio square] but the lighting is not good and there are strange people also so you don’t feel safe to walk by yourself at night. That means you have to get a taxi for moving around at night. The room service was excellent but the food was awful and except that I found in my pasta a piece of metal! And finally some of the rooms don’t have windows that open. In general I was not happy at all! A paid for a 5star Hotel and the hotel did not much the 5 star rating. Maybe 4 stars, but for sure not a 5 star Hotel. I will not stay at that hotel again for sure. Thxs

The hotel was wonderful and the stafff could not be more attentive and gracious. Our room looked out onto the Acropolis and Parthenon, and the room was quite spacious, especially by Greek standards. The room was also very nicely furnished. The staff left a bottle of wine for us, while we were out. I really could not fault anything about the hotel itself and the location was great if your purpose is to visit the Parthenon. It is quite a distance from the airport to the city center, but most of the travel time is taken up, getting through the city center esp. as strikes were going on during our time there. It is situated in the center of downtown, which is a bit of a nuicance to get to, but if your purpose is to visit tourist sites, then you have no choice but to stay in the center of it all. This is not against the Athen's Imperial, but a warning for folks taking a taxi. When taking it from the hotel, you can ask the staff how much it costs to get wherever, and the cab drivers stick to that price. Beware on the way home though because the cab drivers will rip you off. We paid 7 Euros to go to the Parthenon, and the taxi driver on the way home told us that rates went up after 12pm and charged us $30 Euros! We mentioned it to the hotel staff later, and they said, we should have just said that we needed to go inside to get more money, then one of the staff members would have went out and spoken to the driver. We shouldn't have paid it, but when you are in a different country and you don't know where you are going, or don't speak the language, sometimes you just have to go with the flow.

The reviews for this hotel seemed scary but the hotel was exactly the opposite of what we read. Fantastic views, great, comfy rooms, large modern bathroom. The neighborhood is kinda dodgy but you are across the street from the metro, there is always a taxi out front waiting for you and the City Tour Hop on Hop off bus is outside the metro stop. Great access to the city! The staff were also extremely helpful in every way. Breakfast is pricey but it is a lot of food. I enjoyed the hotel more than I enjoyed Athens.
