I stayed here for one night en route to Chania and probably wouldn't want to stay there any longer. The rooms was clean but that was about all. |

I was very dissatisfied as I had booked a double room with a double bed and they gave me a room with twins bed without any good explanation. J'avais réservé une chanmbre double avec un grand lit et nous avons eu une chambre avec deux lits individuels. Besides, the view through the widow was very ugly openening on a garage. |

We stayed here on our arrival to Crete, we got in late but the location was a short work in to the main square where there were restaurants and shops. It was also very near a cheap supermarket and lovely bakery. It was nice to have a balcony with our room. The lady receptionist was informative, welcoming and spoke good English. The front of the hotel was well kept and there was a large seating area. It was on a main road and parking (hire car) was difficult. There needed to be more pillows! The fridge was noisy during the night as it was on a table, not the floor. |

The central location of the hotel. Being able to walk to and from the port on our arrival and departure. The easy access to tourist areas, shops and bus to Knossos. Restaurants within walking distance. |

To much noise, the hotel is to close to the airport and to a road with heavy traffic. |

Exellent location on our arrival and departure from Crete, close to the airport, city centre and main tourist attractions.Staff is very friendly and helpful and hotel is adequatly equipped and clean. Not having parking spaces, parking on a busy street was not always easy. Rooms looking onto the street can be a bit noisy untill the traffic dies out. |

We didnt like the room, so we sat outside downstairs until we felt tired, during that time there was a staff member who worked night shift. He was the only thing we liked about Athinaiko. We booked a double room but was offered a twin bed room. That was quite disappointing. It was also stated in our booking papers that we had booked a double bed room. But yet hotel they could not offer another room, explanation or apology or atleast help us move the beds together. The fridge was not on, the elecric socket was broken, the toilet flush board could fall down any minute. The garbage bin was not emptied. |

close to the port, friendly night staff we got in late and asked the staff to help us with ferry time tables. the man told us to wait until the morning becuase he didnt know anything about ferries even though they are 2 minutes from the port, in the morning we got up and asked the lady and she said, No ferry today & thats it. she really didnt want to help us any more or suggest going to a travel agent, or why we couldnt catch a ferry to another island and then onwards, then she spoke in greek about us to the man next to her like we were putting her out. Also, the bathroom leaked all night and was leaking when we arrived. I understand flooding after a shower in greece but we didnt even shower & the toilet wouldnt flush, not once. its not a good area for walking either, no footpath |

The hotel was fairly centrally located, within walking distance of the port, the museum, etc. Also the room was nice. As with many other hotels we stayed at, there was no place to put the shower head so as to take a shower without holding the head with one hand. |

Most of the staff practically bent over backwards to help us! They lent us their laptop for internet access at our convenience, and were super helpful with directions and recommendations. The room had a phone, tv, full bathroom and fridge which were all useful. Very noisy in the middle of the night (cars, people, music) coming from the alley behind the hotel. No balcony on our room. |

The staff was nice. Very noisy especially the rooms in the front: try to avoid at least first floor. Pay attention with rates: we booked a second time over the phone and the girl at the desk gave us a price which was higher than the regular fare (as shown in the form hanging behind the room's door...) |
