Close to metro station and not far from the Acropolis. The staff is friendly. Although the room is old, bedding articles are quite clean.
The location is not that good, as the street in front of the door seems disorderly. Room is not that new, but in considering the price, it is fair. Wifi was entirely broken down when I stayed here.
I liked the location, it is very close to the acropolis, but on a side street so that it is quiet at night. Clean Hotel, friendly staff. No breakfast, would stay here again. I was a solo traveller (female, 21) and I felt safe, and content.
The staffs were very nice, accomodating and helpful, to the point of even letting me keep my bags at the hotel since my flight was at 9pm. Great location : walking distance to 2 stations : Ommonia and Monastriki. Room was a bit small, but since I travelled solo, it was a good value for money.
The only problem I had was with the WiFi. Could not connect to any throughout my stay there.
friendly receptionists great location very clean
Great location with very friendly staff. Good deal for price per night.
When I arrived window on room was open, that evening I closed it. I woke up in the night with the room smelling like someone smoked in the room before. When asked, staff confirms that it's a hotel where you allowed to smoke. I moved to other room, which was better, but since some smoked in attached room I ended 4 out of 5 night sleeping in a room that smells like smoking cigarettes. My clotes got the smell as well. If you're ok with sleeping in room that can smell to smoked cigarettes this hotel is an absolute good one, if not, better look for a non-smoking hotel
24 h. reception good locality (monuments, market (fruits, fish...) and also supemarket very near) nice staff good price cleaning every day
poor signal of wifi
Very cheap and clean rooms, friendly staff, snack dispenser machine in hallway, small "cafe-environment" with magazines and books.
No shower curtain, poor view to backyard from the window
Convenient location - a few minutes to Monastiraki metro station with a direct connection to the airport and a short walk towards Acropolis, historic Plaka, Parliament square, etc. The street looks a bit dodgy at first sight (if you arrive at night like me), but that's just the graffiti, the area is safe. The price is really good for this location but you can't expect much, the room was pretty spartan with just a small painted window, the bathroom is a toillet and shower 2-in-1. But the bed was comfortable enough. Wifi was good.
The walls are paper thin so you hear a lot of noise - people talking, walking the wooden stairs, water running in bathrooms, etc, so I don't reccommend if you're a light sleeper.
good location, the bed was comfortable and clean
I had asked for as quiet room - and I was woken three times in the middle of the night - first time at 1 am with noisy men at the reception shouting, their voices carried all the way up the stairs; was woken yet again at 3 am by a member of staff banging the door next to my room, when I went out of the room to see what was happening I was told he was doing laundry and just doing his job - but hey, do you do this at 3 am next to a guest bedroom? Truly awful experience ... a horrible end to a holiday in Greece
Great Location and in quiet street.
Arriving in the evening the street looks rather rundown but in the morning when the shops open it comes to life and is thoroughly exhilerating!
Very friendly hosts, hotel in a great location, very good value for money!!
Great location and low price
The Athinaikon has the acoustics worthy of an amphitheatre. The couple arguing 2 doors down the hall was as vivid as an Mexican soap opera, which was good since I never managed to get the TV working. The standard of the rooms are pretty low but so are the prices. Not very comfy beds and a cramped bathroom with wet floor for a day if using the shower.
Clean, kind receptionists
Stayed one night. The hotel is value for money, location is good, staff helpful, we left our luggage there to walk the city with no problems.
Not very clean, no elevator, rooms pretty small, bathroom also small, and broken. Our window was looking at something like a well between the buildings. Good for one night only.
Hotel located just walking distance from metro station, very near to the busy street and shopping area. We reach early before checkin, allowing us to store our luggage at the hotel and we can went out for a walk/visit/
Room is pretty old, and toilet is wet. You will need to carry your own luggage to 2nd or 3rd floor to your room without lift.
Location is perfect, close to Monastiraki metro, and street market just around the corner. Staff is friendly. Good for this money
Old ac in the room
My husband and myself loved the location, even though the area is heavily graffitied, but there again so is all Athens. The lady on reception was lovely, we never saw anyone else, as we were room only. We had a pleasant stay.
The shower could have been a bit nicer, the tiles need replacing.
Staff friendly and very helpful, good location as easy walk to all historic sites and shops. Room price excellent value for money.
Rooms a little small, but price was excellent.
Location is very good, close to the city center; Price is cheap
The blanket and the sheet are not clean.
Within easy walking distance of the Monasteraki metro station to travel to either Piraeus Port or the Airport
Location of the hotel is just perfect, it takes 5 minutes to get to the metro station and one of the major squares of the city. Central market is right behind the corner, there are good cafes and shops around.
Wi-Fi coverage and connection speed was not great.
