With a prime location only 165 ft from the Metaxourgeio metro station, Hotel Minoa is within walking distance of the Acropolis and Athens’s archeological sites.

Very cheap and clean rooms, friendly staff, snack dispenser machine in hallway, small "cafe-environment" with magazines and books.
No shower curtain, poor view to backyard from the window
Convenient location - a few minutes to Monastiraki metro station with a direct connection to the airport and a short walk towards Acropolis, historic Plaka, Parliament square, etc. The street looks a bit dodgy at first sight (if you arrive at night like me), but that's just the graffiti, the area is safe. The price is really good for this location but you can't expect much, the room was pretty spartan with just a small painted window, the bathroom is a toillet and shower 2-in-1. But the bed was comfortable enough. Wifi was good.
The walls are paper thin so you hear a lot of noise - people talking, walking the wooden stairs, water running in bathrooms, etc, so I don't reccommend if you're a light sleeper.
good location, the bed was comfortable and clean
I had asked for as quiet room - and I was woken three times in the middle of the night - first time at 1 am with noisy men at the reception shouting, their voices carried all the way up the stairs; was woken yet again at 3 am by a member of staff banging the door next to my room, when I went out of the room to see what was happening I was told he was doing laundry and just doing his job - but hey, do you do this at 3 am next to a guest bedroom? Truly awful experience ... a horrible end to a holiday in Greece
Great Location and in quiet street.
Arriving in the evening the street looks rather rundown but in the morning when the shops open it comes to life and is thoroughly exhilerating!
Very friendly hosts, hotel in a great location, very good value for money!!
Great location and low price
The Athinaikon has the acoustics worthy of an amphitheatre. The couple arguing 2 doors down the hall was as vivid as an Mexican soap opera, which was good since I never managed to get the TV working. The standard of the rooms are pretty low but so are the prices. Not very comfy beds and a cramped bathroom with wet floor for a day if using the shower.
Clean, kind receptionists
Stayed one night. The hotel is value for money, location is good, staff helpful, we left our luggage there to walk the city with no problems.
Not very clean, no elevator, rooms pretty small, bathroom also small, and broken. Our window was looking at something like a well between the buildings. Good for one night only.
Hotel located just walking distance from metro station, very near to the busy street and shopping area. We reach early before checkin, allowing us to store our luggage at the hotel and we can went out for a walk/visit/
Room is pretty old, and toilet is wet. You will need to carry your own luggage to 2nd or 3rd floor to your room without lift.
Location is perfect, close to Monastiraki metro, and street market just around the corner. Staff is friendly. Good for this money
Old ac in the room
My husband and myself loved the location, even though the area is heavily graffitied, but there again so is all Athens. The lady on reception was lovely, we never saw anyone else, as we were room only. We had a pleasant stay.
The shower could have been a bit nicer, the tiles need replacing.
Staff friendly and very helpful, good location as easy walk to all historic sites and shops. Room price excellent value for money.
Rooms a little small, but price was excellent.
Location is very good, close to the city center; Price is cheap
The blanket and the sheet are not clean.
Within easy walking distance of the Monasteraki metro station to travel to either Piraeus Port or the Airport
Location of the hotel is just perfect, it takes 5 minutes to get to the metro station and one of the major squares of the city. Central market is right behind the corner, there are good cafes and shops around.
Wi-Fi coverage and connection speed was not great.
- Location is great, 3 blocks from Monastiraki station and walking distance from a lot of attractions. For example: Acropolis is about 1,2 km from it (15-20 minutes walking). A lot of restaurants and cafes nearby - Friendly staff - Clean and comfortable room - Free luggage storage for the same day
- Some might find the street the hotel is located a bit remote. But it's safe and in the middle of a very crowded part of the city.
The attention received was over excellent. The lady at reception couldn't be nicer and she was willing to help in everything we asked and want, recommendations about transport, restaurants... The bed was very comfortable, I don't know if it was because I was very tired but, I actually slept like an angel.
The room and bathroom weren't the nicest I've been in but, for the price you pay and the location of the hotel, fair enough to shower and have a good sleep after a long day of walking around the city.
very clean,friendly reception,good location
it is very much near the metro station , and the staff is very helpful. the price is very cheap , so generally ,it is very good
The location of the hotel is wonderful. It is at a walking distance from Acropolis, Syndagma, The Museum of Islamic Art and many other fascinating places. What is important, it is very close to the metro station (Monastiraki), which is very convenient in terms of connection with the airport, as well as travelling beyond the walking distance. The staff in the hotel are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean. Some of them are really small, but it is actually quite fine if you spend most of the time outside and only need a bed to sleep at night. Others (of the same type) are bigger, so people from a smaller room can move into a bigger one after its previous occupants leave. There are no fridges in rooms, which might have been a problem for us, as we had some medicine that had to be kept in a fridge, but we were allowd to keep it in a fridge at the reception.
wifi, clean, quiet room and friendly owner. 24 hour service
the street leading to the hotel is a bit dodgy. but to be fair, almost all streets in athens look dodgy
Position of hotel Low prices Staff very friendly Wi-fi
