In a central location on Mavili Square which is just beneath Lycabettus Hill, and including stylish soundproof rooms with Wi-Fi and free parking, the Airotel Alexandros is near 2 metro stations.
Score from 581 reviews Very good
Right next to Monastiraki Metro Station, A for Athens features a rooftop bar with a stunning view of the Acropolis. Nightlife districts of Psirri, Monastiraki and Plaka are a 5 minute walk away.

The exceptional behaviour of the staff.
Location, value for money, breakfast, very clean
I have stayed in this hotel several times. The beds are comfy, the staff is so friendly and helpful and it is always immaculately clean.
The only issue this time was that the room was too hot and the aircon is not on during the winter (also when it is relatively really warm for someone coming from northern Europe!), even with the window open.
This is my second time here. It's still good. The staff are so friendly and helpful. There wasn't any tea making facilities but I asked and they sorted me out with a kettle. Loved the breakfast
The central heating is full on so I had to sleep with the window open. But it's a minor problrem.
-no free parking
The bar and brasserie offers a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere, good value food and excellent wine, all served by professional, polite and friendly staff at all times! It is one of the main reasons I choose this hotel, again and again. The front desk staff are extremely helpful. The hotel always does its best to provide me with any special requests I make at time of booking, and I find my bed very comfortable! Excellent standards of cleanliness, and best of all the location is ideal for the city centre and the hotel is a 3min walk from great cafes, bakeries and bars. The upstairs reading room is peaceful and very pleasant! Would strongly recommend this hotel and will be back!
Clean and tidy. Easy access to Athens city centre. The woman at the reception was lovely and helpful with info about coffee shops and restaurants nearby. It gave us a really good impression of Greece and Athens. Lovely people.
No safe in room. Air-conditioning turned off during winter time but it was hot and humid which made the room uncomfortable. No tea or coffee making facilities in room.
Water in room, staff lovely
Air conditioning wasn't great and found the room very warm
The staff were lovely, the breakfast was great. My room was divine. Would definitely stay again.
As a non smoker, cigarette smoke would sometimes come through the aircon from what I assume was from the smoking rooms. No kettle in room so I missed my tea in the eveings!
Clean hotel, room was nice, bathroom as well and the bed was good enough. Polite staff and very good location near the Metro station. Nice Breakfast and meals. Facilities were very good, good value for money.
Wifi Signal was poor No free parking, it costs 7.5euro/per day.
friendly personel in the brasserie, nice music and delecious capuccino cofee
can not approach the hotels entrance in order to unload the baggages from the car,and it was raining . no parking
The location was very convenient for the purpose of our trip.
The carpets had stains and even although the room was clean it was giving the feeling of dirt.
Friendly staff, clean, food is very good and being a solo female traveller they were good at helping me with most things. The man at the front desk remembered me and was as helpful as he was the first time . I would use them again .
Aircon does not work properly and they do not tell you about food discount if you are staying there.
Location for business in Athens (E side) - 10 mins walk to the Opera house metro, 2 km to Syntagma. A solid hotel, good prices. Nice dinner, good breakfast. Helpful staff. Large comfortable room. Quiet on the back.
None, unless I get very picky about having to use the door card to operate the lift - and that really is picky.
The friendly staff and excellent food and environment too
Good location, friendly staff. Very clean and well maintained.
Room is quite small. Very few staff speak English at a business or conversational level. Morning desk manager obviously didn't enjoy interaction with foreigners. Quite a contrast to the person on the evening shift
It's clean and the cleaning ladies are very pleasant.
We wanted to change room because we had very strange neighbors shouting at night (not hotel's fault),we talked to the front desk and the gentleman just said that could be worse in other rooms. We could see that he just couldn't be bothered. We didn't insist but it was getting worse and we were staying long time , so we got the manager and finally had our room changed. The staff don't seem to be helpful and they never smiled.
The Athinias Hotel was everything we would expect from a quality city hotel. The staff was very professional, the room was clean and comfortable, breakfast provided a good variety, and the shower was awesome! An ironing board was delivered to our room within a minute of our request. The restaurant serves a decent lunch at a fair price. Although there is nothing of interest around the hotel, it is just a few minutes' walk to the Metro and almost right across the street from the express airport bus.
Nothing to note.
Very friendly and professional staff. Amazing location - close to underground station - Metro line 3 - which can take you both straight to the airport and Acropolis. But you can get to the main tourists attractions on foot as well if you are not afraid of longer walks. Breakfast was excellent - the best we had in hotels in Greece.
The rooms interior could do with a bit of updating.
-professional attitude (staff + enviroment) -cafe bar at the lobby -breakfast(spacious hall) -close to 2 metro stations -soundproofed walls
-small shower cabin -little bit noisy if u choose a room in front(due to traffic from the avenue)
English a bit poor
This was a good hotel with a wonderful room, wifi, comforts, towels, and a great breakfast to meet all tastes!! Within waling distance from Metro 3 and very handy for all the hospitals etc in the area!
Good breakfast, good bar and restaurant; prices similar to city centre. 30+ minutes walk from Parliament, 60 minutes to Acropolis. Bus, metro in front of entrance. Indoor parking nearby.
Wifi could be faster. Misunderstanding over the use of the Parking Exit card cost me 10 euros.
Good location for our needs.
