Avalon Boutique Suites Hotel  

We had a wonderful 6 day stay in Avalon Hotel. The immediate impression was lovely, the design of the place as a whole, and the rooms in particular is beautiful. the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff is family-like and very helpful. They gave us good restaurant and plan advice, always friendly and kind. Even the made had a personal touch when cleaning the room.. The owner gave us a special lift to s supermarket realizing it's too far to walk. The location is excellent - in the middle of the old city, yet as quiet as in the country side. Breakfast very good, with fresh orange juice, fresh vegetables and fruit, Feta cheese and delicious Yougort. We also dined there twice and the food and price were good. We had a wonderful holiday, and highly recommend.

The rooms are a bit dark.

The hotel was located in the old town - within the castle walls. The patio was a nice place to have a cup of tea in the morning.

Hotel room was very poorly lit, therefore very dark. Would not recommend the "Notos" Room for mature people. There is a staircase leading up to the bedroom, it was very dark and difficult to see at night going up. Could not get luggage up the staircase therefore left it open on the couch downstairs. Room was very dark even during the day. Lights had to be on at all times to see. You could not read in this room. Breakfast was served from 8.30 am onwards. - very late. When we complained about this, due to our day tours commencing at 8.30 am, the first day hotel staff provided stale bread, honey and marmalade plus tea and coffee facilities so we could make do. The second day I objected to this and requested breakfast be brought forward as there was no mention on our booking site about the times it was served. Breakfast quality and selection when received was extremely poor for a boutique 4 star hotel. (Husband said stale bread tasted better than the omelette we ordered). Orange juice was good. Word of warning re hotel transfer from airport. We had arranged a transfer. We were picked up and charged 40 Euros for the transfer one way for 2 people. I later made enquiries at a taxi rank as to cost from hotel. Was informed it would cost around 22 Euros one way. I complained about this treatment to the owner. He provided free transfer back by taxi due to my complaint. Take a taxi to and from - much cheaper. The incidents spoiled our time on the island.

Cuando llegamos al hotel no había personal para ayudarnos a subir las maletas (dos pisos por una escalera muy estrecha). Esto es imperdonable en un hotel que pretende tener cinco estrellas.

Infelizmente não fui feliz na minha escolha, destaco apenas o empenho e dedicação do gerente / recepcionista em tentar resolver os inumeros problemas

Conforto recebeu nota mediocre pois o ar condicionado primeiro não gelava e depois fazia muito barulho, sendo resolvido o problema mais de 24 horas depois. As luzes da antesala ficavam acendendo e apagando várias vezes e no quarto de casal isso aconteceu duas vezes, mas as 03:00h. o meu quarto e alguns outros dificilmente receberiam cadeirantes, a agua do chuveiro as vezes esquentava muito. Localização recebeu nota mediocre, pois devido ser no centro historico, em poucos periodos do dia era permitido chegar perto do hotel de carro. Eu empurrei 2 malas de 30Kg por cerca de 600m para chegar ao hotel, também haviam pedintes em quase todos os periodos do dia ao lado do hotel.

Very nice inner yard. Very kind and helpful stuff. Fast and free Internet connection. Delicious breakfast.

Our suit was situated in the ground floor that is why it was very dark and some humid there.

Sa situation au coeur du quartier historique et malgré tout très calme. Le charme du jardin.

Une climatisation très sonore...même quand elle est coupée! (Glouglou et crachotements continus!)

Mycket trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Suveränt läge. Rummet fantastiskt mix av modernt anpassad till medeltida atmosfär. Extra plus till städerskan som alltid var där och lika trevlig.

Nice quite hotel in the center of the Medieval Town. Easily accessible even cars are not allowed in the old town. Suites are large enough and properly decorated.People working there are very friendly and the selection of food for breakfast, lunch or dinner is really good and tasty. Higly recommended
