The location of Rafina rather than Athens or Piraeus was such a good choice! The Avra hotel is visible from the ferry as it docks and within easy walking distance with luggage. The hotel has been recently renovated and is very comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant and were able to do web check in and print boarding passes at the desk in the lobby. The regular bus to the airport is two minutes walk from the hotel. Rafina is closer to the airport than Athens itself and a lot less hassle. It is an attractive safe place to spend a night or two.

walk to ferry, stores for last minute supplies, bus direct from airport only 3 euros. Enjoyed nice walks around town and swim, snorkel at red bay public cove only 10 minute walk from hotel. The breakfast was complete selection and very good! So wepaid a little more for room than usual but saved alot on taxi fares , food etc!

I arrived from Athens at 2 am in the morning. The location of the hotel was excellent for me being located next to the port of Rafina. This enabled me to rest in comfortable surroundings before travelling on the ferry to Tinos the following day.

I needed to stay one night near the airport, so I choose this place. The Hotel is not that close to airport as I thought, I took 30 mins driving. The envoirnment seems to be nice. Can't remember much about the place, expect the reception girl was always on the phone.

Avra was fantastic, my friend and I had a wonderful stay-just what we needed between two big days of travel. The staff were extremely helpful and approachable and the rooms had more than we required and were very clean and comfortable. We could not be happier with our experience. Not to mention the amazing breakfast that was included! Thanks Avra

Nice staff. Actually I made one day miss on the reservation, but the receptionist girl tried to arrang a sea-view room for us. Breakfast is good. Missing the local bus to the airport, we had to take a taxi to the airport, which cost us 35 euro. This is not a complaint for the hotel, just a reminder for those who want to take advantage of the airport convenience. It may be close to the airport but private cars go another route from local buses.

We arrived Athens at the Rafina Port and needed to take a flight the next day. The hotel is very close to the port (around 5 minutes walk). There are many local restaurants nearby and we feel safe walking around the area. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast is good. There is a bus going to the airport from the hotel, around 30 minutes ride and 3 euro only. The shower door has a gap so there is water on the floor after shower. I believe there was some small problem with the pipe so it smells a bit sometimes in the bathroom. But it doesnt bother us much as we just shut the bathroom door.

The best thing about the Avra Hotel is it's location.Using the port at Rafina is a wonderful alternative to staying in Athens and going to Piraeus for boats...There are connections to Andros,Tinos and Mykynos and also to Evia which leave at least 2 times a day from Rafina..The Avra Hotel is one of the only decent places to stay overnight...It's right next to the port and extremely convenient..The rooms are small but adequate and some have sea views.....

Location is the basic reason choosing Avra Hotel. Its near the Rafina Port and its ok for one night The hotel is not really "renovated" as advertised and 85euros for a double room like that is unacceptable.

One often needs to spend a night in Rafina between arrival by air and catching a ferry. It is the leading local hotel and a good introduction to Greece. Breakfast timely and excellent.

The location (next to port and bus to airport) and the staff st the desk in the morning went above and beyond helping us with driving directions. The breakfast room was also very comfortable and pleasant. Maybe the elevators (too small and only one was working) and the late night desk staff was a complete a-hole

Close to the evening ferry from Naxos saves time when to proceed to the airport the next morning. In the hallways and staircases there were several devices that spread heavy perfume in the air. Similar as found in the public pissorarer. The perfume spread from the corridors and into the rooms through cracks around the doors. Pure death of an allergic person. I was forced to tape around the door from inside the room and then vent properly to use the room. Allegiker should avoid this hotel.

The only reason for choosing it was situation at the port of Rafina (we had a ferry early in the morning). The hotel is quite good, friendly personnel, clean comfortable room, good breakfast, though the price could be lower.

The hotel is very cinveniently situated near the airport and the port of Rafina. It is an ideal stopping place for travellers. Reasonably confortable. The restaurant is a pleasant surprise: on a terrace with view on the harbour it is a nice place to have dinner. The bus to/from the airport has a stop close by. Some small maintenance could help. The presence of old moquette on the corridor of the 4th floor gives a shabby impression (rooms are better). Even if the airport is only a few km away, taxi drivers take a long route through the highways that requires almost 45 min. Bus is better.

The location is great. 100 m to the beach, 200 m to the ferries and the center of the city just around the corner. The staff was not the friendliest I have met.

The location is on the other side of the centre of Athens (Eastcoast). 30 min by bus from the airport. The rooms aren't quiet. This as a hotel for groups without any charm.

Location. We could walk from the port They were not overly friendly staff. There was no information given to us about nearby restaurants or tourist attractions. Nor was there a hotel guide book. The bed was particularly uncomfortable and computer facilities.
