“ This was our second time at this hotel.IApart from being convenient for the airport it also allows us to leave the car in the hotel carpark while making a daytrip into Athens by bus/metro.We were given an upgrade to a seaview which meant we had lovely views of the harbour & ferries going " to & from" various Greek Islands. ”

The view of the sea from my balcony was lovely. I had to change my room from floor two to floor 3 after moving in and finding no W-fi available on the 2nd floor. The red wine by the glass was terrible...

Excellent service etc. We also had an evening meal in the restaurant which was very good and hotel guests received a 20% discount.

Breakfast buffet was plentiful with lots of choice. The corridors and bedrooms were a little tired, definitely past their best.

Few minutes walk to port, very convenient, the room is so small, just as a transit place to stay from airport to port for couple hours

Position in town. View. Buffet breakfast. Free internet. Proximity to Athens Airport with good bus connections. Ditto for centre of Athens. Bedroom and bathroom very small and cramped. No plug in washbasin. Not really 4 star standard.

I give my comments in English , may be useful. I choose this this hotel, like in my opinion , many others, because of it s situation , not far from the international airport , and/or close to a harbour with departures to many islands. Apart from that , is t is a pleasant surrounding to stay for a night , with a splendid panorama from the room. Moreover the comfort of a public bus, which stops right in front. The staff is very friendly., The room quite okay , though a bit small. Wonder if the hotel deserves the starrating it has. The reception was utmost friendly upon arrival , but possibly a bit out of concentration , had problems with the creditcardcharger .... Find it odd anyway , that one has to pay in advance. The carpets in the corridors need to be replaced. They are dirty and worn out. The tv offers not one international channel, only Greek. No idea how it is , when one arrives earlier for breakfast, but I did at 09.30 and have found it rather poor, almost cold scrambled eggs and a number of things finished. Also here was the staff very friendly. And a very nice place with view.

We chose this hotel purely as a stopover as we just finished our tour of the islands and were heading to the airport the next day. As a stopover it was adequate but it was a pretty ordinary hotel. The resturant food was great. But the service could have been better. The room was clean though. The rooms were very small(compared to the islands), air conditioning was noisy, there was no wifi in the room, the TV was mounted very high, near the ceiling, and so was hard to watch. No information about Rafina in the hotel.

This was our second stay in the past two years at the Avra Hotel and we're very pleased with it. The location is close to the Athens International Airport and is sited at a small seaport that handles lots of island ferries. We had rooms (3 in all for our family) that faced the water and it's most pleasant. The rooms are small but very comfortable and the breakfast is a real treat. And the prices, we found, are about one third those of the airport hotels, and they include breakfast, which the airport hotels do not. They also provide a limited amount of free parking, a big plus. It's a very nice hotel, vary attractive, with a friendly, helpful staff that showed extra courtesy to us. No complaints or problems at all.

The location was perfect, just a 5 min walk to all the ferries. There are also plenty of restaurants around. Rafina is very small but good to relax or to stay overnight before your ferry. Breakfast was good. The shower needs some refurbishment, but still ok to use.

Chris at the front desk. He checked us in and was so very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nice to have breakfast included. Very nice wait staff. Rooms are very old and in need of a serious update. Torn wallpaper and old carpet were a real turn off. Our glass balcony wall was so very dirty it was difficult to enjoy the view.

The room and the bar/restaurant - not a lot else. The hotel advertises itself, and comes up in search engines as, an "Airport Hotel". It is absolutely not an airport hotel. It's a 40 Euro 45 minute taxi ride from Athens airport - parts of central Athens are closer. It also advertises itself as reburbished. The rooms have been refurbished and are comfortable and modern, but the common areas on floors 1 and 3 have threadbare carpets, dim lighting and peeling wall paper. Floor 2 is signed as "Executive Floor" and has been refurbished in the same style as the rooms. Rafina as an area is now very run down. Abandoned vehicles abound.

The Avra Hotel is misrepresented. It has a 3-4 star rating as a "luxury" hotel when, in fact, it deserves a "1" rating. The lobby was attractive; clearly designed to misrepresent the condition of the room awaiting the unsuspecting guest. The hotel elevator was so small and the doors so dangerous, that we thought we would be injured. The carpeting in the hallway was falling apart. The couch in the hallway looked filthy. The room was incredibly small. The shower curtain was too short; allowing water to escape. The bathroom had damage in it. Water from the bathroom above the room dripped into the bathroom. And, to add insult to injury, the advertised "Wi-Fi" access was non-existent. First; the hotel clerk gave us a damaged cable. Then, the second cable the clerk gave us did not work. Finally, we had to use the hotel lobby computer which clearly evidenced that other hotel guests were similarly deceived. NET: The Avra Hotel was a disaster.

We stayed at the hotel because of the proximity to Rafina port where we were due to board the ferry. It was good in that respect. The food was good, and the staff helpful and friendly.

Location, within walking distance of the Rafina port facilities. Pretty plain room, although the balcony was nice. It was longer and more expensive to get to the airport early the next morning than we anticipated.

The location. The hotel is in need of general renovation. The rooms are in poor condition and unclean. The staff are abrupt and unhelpful. We would not recommend this hotel in its present condition.
