The staff, especial Theadore, were great. Very attentive and helpful. The free breakfast was also nice...not great, but nice. Close to the metro line. The WIFI was inconsistent and at times not usable. The bed was a bit too firm also.

Close to metro (4 short blocks away and just 5 stops to reach the Acropolis). Free parking directly in front of hotel. Front desk clerks very friendly and knowledgable -- Provided excellent recommendations regarding beaches and casual dining. Free WiFi worked very well. A/c did not work...not a major issue for us, as the weather was transitional mid-April spring weather and temperatures were not too hot, but would be a major issue during the summer. With 4 single beds, the room was pretty cramped. The 4th bed was a roll-away type bed sandwiched between the 3 beds in what would normally be a 3-person room. The shower was too small for the adults/older teens in our group.

The hotel staff was very friendly, even ordered food on several occasions for us. The room was kind of smelly,I suspect it was from the old carpet.Location is somewhat of a bad neighborhood of Athens, not necessarily dangerous.

The hotel was fine and easy to get to fro the airport on the Metro, but Athens had a riot in town and the area we stayed in outside town was very r down didn't like to walk down side streets due to groups of men hovering. , There are places to eat nearby if you like kebab type food. our trip was a stop over between flights, was glad we were not there any longer all off which was no detriment to the Hotel or the staff,No problem with the accommodation at all.. Area it was in.

Close to the metro. Retro hotel. Breakfast was buffet style. Parking spots on site. Air-conditioning is central to hotel and does not appear to be anything other than a fan (or we just couldn't get the retro thermostat to do its thing)

The hotel is a few minutes' walk from the metro station. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is only central air conditioner in the room, and will be turned off by the hotel when the temperture is not high outside. So you would have to use the fan or open the window then.

Good location. WiFi works only for one device (and with poor quality in our room), other are rejected when trying to register with given login/password. We had a laptop, smartphone and iPad, so it was an issue.

The Balasca is a very short walk from a metro station, plus bus stops opposite (did not catch the bus so do not know the destinations of the bus routes). The area is not pretty but in my opinion quite safe and only one or two metro stops to the main sights. There is a bakery, cafe and convenience store on the same street and a Carrefour round the corner. The hotel is extremely clean, the facilities are basic but met all our requirements very well. The rooms do not have safe deposit boxes but the reception staff stored our valuables in the main safe. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The breakfast was excellent, a good choice of hot and cold food and plenty of it. I would recommend the Balasca for budget travellers. No safe deposit boxes in rooms but the hotel staff provided an alternative which worked well.

Good deal for the money. Clean, good breakfast (thow not a lot of choise nor any available vegetables), good service. A bit noisy (even if we were on 5-th floor), small (but confy) rooms, the parking exists but is not watched by the hotel staff.

Staff was very helpful and friendly. We arrived early and the staff allowed us to check-in earlier. We booked 2 non-smoking rooms and one of the rooms was evident that someone was smoking or was a smoking room. Staff informed us that they cannot control if someone will smoke in the rooms. Both rooms had ashtrays, which one can assume is a smoking room.

This was my second stay at this hotel and primary reason was its close proximity to metro station. Hotel staff is really nice and willing to help even when I checked in at 12:30 in night. Though you really need to be careful in Athens these days but I did not notice any unusual activity while walking from metro stop to this hotel during night. Hotel rooms are okay; on my second trip I was offered a triple room which was really spacious. Choice of break fast is also good enough and worth of what you pay. Overall enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Shower may be of bit disappointment as they are really very small.
