location, air conditioning
dirty rooms, grumpy staff, poor breakfast, poor wi-fi, no shower curtains, mosquitoes in the rooms
Very close to acropolis and the metro station. Clean sheets.
Breakfast is just stale bread and jam. The wifi was very weak from our room, couldn't send emails. We also found a used baby nappy under the bed. It wasn't smelly, although the room had a faint feet smell.
easy acess to all and close to transport rooftop views very very friendly
Location, small hotel, wonderful view of the Acropolis from the top, very close to metro station, staff improvise when there are problems, in the process of being revamped.
Bathrooms are out of date and not always practical.
I only used for one night to sleep, since i was so tierd i sleep perfectly good. The location is excelent, only one minute from the acropolis. My only concert is that the walls in the bathroom wasnt perfectly clean, but i will use it again if i need it.
Great location. But that is all.
Soo worn down - like stepping into the 1960 ies! Dirty and torn. Sad and sorry staff. The beds were the worst. No, sorry - the shower was even worse.
Bothroom, power outlets
-Right in Plaka a few meters away from the e ntrance of the Acropolis and its museum -Friendly staff willing to help -Family hotel, don't expect anything too fancy... -Good value for money in the middle of the touristic season
-Decoration is a little outdated in the dark brown colours (therefore a little dark) -As usual, spleeping in a double room with an extra bed is always a little tight ! -Bedding not the most comfortable we ever had... -The breakfast is included but is definitely not worth it -In my records we had booked a superior triple room at 117 euros a night but were given a standard triple room at the back
Stuck in the basement or bottom floor but it was only 58.00 and late last minute at prime time travel period. It was good for one night. Great shower, hot water and pressure fine.
Cheesy rooms, horrible service
Breakfast was very basic, it was an insult Staff were unfriendly and one woman in particular was grumpy and always complaining I told them 3 days in advance I was going to check out 1 day earlier and they said it would be fine yet they still charged me for the full stay without my consent on the day I first told them
Great location to transport and sights.
great location for logistic to visit Athene. Very close to the main e trance of Acropoli and Metro. If you are by car try to park outside Plaka, it's onli for resident and the real few parkings are NOT so cheap!
Expensive, old, breakfast chep and poor, rooms without light, wifi didn't work well also the air conditioned fan. Staff NOT so cute...
very kind anf hospitable people
the room gave me as "single room" is very small
Hotel location, roof terrace w/ great view, staff. Only had coffee at the hotel so I can't comment on breakfast (the coffee was fine).
Our room on the ground floor had a tiny shower stall and a very small terrace w/ no view. For a longer stay I'd want a different room but for two nights it was fine.
Great location, short walk to many sights.
Small hard beds.
I loved the location, right next to the Acropolis, in a very nice street in Plaka (old city center). No need to take public transport to see the city highlights. Even though the staff is not particularly nice or talkative, they answered my questions very accurately and they even kept a little bag of souvenirs in a safe place for me during two days.
My single room was on the ground floor with a tiny window through which I could only see a 1sqm grey patio with several water pipes from the building. I did not sleep well because of the sounds of falling water (through the pipes) and the air conditioning sounds coming from that patio. It was difficult to ventilate the room. The toilet was not clean at my arrival, but the bed sheets and towels were spotless. However, I would stay again 1-2 nights (not longer) in the same hotel because it was not expensive for the location in comparison with other options in Athens. I would, of course, request a room with a bigger window.
Location, great staff.
Small bathrooms, ( I mean tiny). Need to finish roof deck.
Great location! Right in the heart of plaka. Perfect walking distance to the acropolis and museum. Clean rooms, breakfast daily
Very small showers
Location, Clean Rooms, Good Value, Worth Staying here.
Location Location Location, with great big rooms
as I am 190cm tall & 115kg the shower was to small
Fantastic location. Good staff. Room was OK but who cares about the room when you are in Plaka just under the Akropoli! So much fun. Glad we went to Hotel Byron!
Room was a little sparse.
Very good location nice balcony watching the Acropolis, parking in the city close to hotel,
Minimal breakfast, small room
The location of the hotel was incredible. It was easy to find and about a 30 second walk away from the entrance to the Acropolis. We had read some of the negative reviews of the hotel before we left and as we were on a budget decided that location was most important. The hotel room was spacious and clean. The staff although not immediately friendly, were helpful when we needed to find something out and book a taxi.
Unfortunately our room was very noisy. Thankfully not from street traffic as we were at the back but due to the fridge, air con (we needed it on) and also it was very windy meaning the tree next to the hotel was scratching our wall all night and sounded like we were on a building site. We therefore had two nights with little sleep. Also our bathroom smelt like a public toilet to the point where we had to take a deep breath to go in. It didn't help that showering took a long time as it was just a hand held shower and took ages to drain. I have stayed in much worse hotels and overall it wasn't too bad at Byron but be aware you get what you pay for. If you are on a budget and want a great location this is the place. If you want a bit of luxury, it will be worth spending a bit more.
I stayed at Byron Hotel for just one night and we chose a cheap room, however the expectations were very good, since it's veeeery well localizated, only 50m from the main station and pubs/restaurants and parthenon.
The wifi didnt work from the room, but in the lobby was perfect.
