We liked first of all the position. When you look above you, can see the Akropolis (it is marvelous). The hotel, being a 2 stars, is very OK. It is clean, the rooms are comfortable. In a range from 1 to 10, I would place this hotel ay 8,5.
We understood we have booked a double room at ground floor, but it was at the basement, so we felt like in a cellar (which it is indeed, but at least we had our own bathroom, because the other room has the toilet outside). Fortunately, the room has a large terrace (or garden) with many plants, and that was comfortable, indeed for us.
Location is the only good thing.
Basement room, smelled awful, the shower was a drain and and hand held shower head meaning our bathroom was drenched our entire stay. The bathrroom door handle was also broken. There was mold and it has clearly not been cleaned. The sheets and blankets we old and dirty. The small refrigerator was filthy. There was a back "patio" off our room that was shared with the room next to ours, which was fine except the curtain covering the sliding door was see through. We had to hang blankets over it for privacy. Breakfast was coffee bread and jam not really much to brag about. We are easy going and can handle a lot but this was awful.
The view from the room could not be better and there were absolutely no outdoor noise during nights.
One bed was squeaky. Right from day one, the bathroom smelled like an urinal and a dirty floor did not indicate proper cleaning. Breakfast was a bit to modest.
Pictures are misleading, the rooms are so small and without sunlight. The hotel smells of diesel, the beds are so noisy that you can not fall asleep. Stay away from this place. It is a total disaster
Location is perfect and the staff friendly. Breakfast is good.
The wifi signal was a bit weak in the rooms.
The location is prime especially if this is your first time to Athens. It's about a 10-15 minute straight forward walk. Prey much follow the garden then take two turns and you are there (Google map it). The hotel is located right in the plaka so it makes to so easy to visit all the sites plus us your own bathroom in between. It's an extremely basic room just for sleeping. I stayed there when I got to athens and when I was leaving. Originally I had planned to stay at a much more expensive hotel next to the airport for my departure due to a 6am flight but the bus runs 24 hrs a day to the airport and the stop is just 10 minutes away do I saved myself the 75 extra euro and stayed at Byron
Nothing it's a very basic older room. Didn't expect it to be much
Location is great and only "affordable" room in plaka. Flexibility of hosts is very good.
Small room, noisy, poor breakfast...
the location is very good
shower facility is bad. The bed set and towel is dirty.
Perfect location! Amazing view from hotel terrace!
Perfect location! Amazing view from the terrace!
Our hosts were extremely accomodating to our needs and very helpful with booking side trips. Well run, caring staff, clean rooms and a location that is close to everything. This was a great value for the money, and I would highly recommend to others.
Although it is on a very busy street, my room was in the back so quiet. One can walk everywhere and the pedestrian street below the Acropolis is pleasant. The employees were all friendly.
My "triple" consisted of three bare twin beds leaving little floor space. There was no sitting area and only one chair. The balcony was minute. Spartan to say the least.
The location is excellent. If you are lucky, you can see the akropole by the window. The elevator is amazing, seems you are in a movie! Hehehe
The room is very small, the bathroom too. The breakfest is a litlle poor, only with bread, butter, coffee and an artificial juice.
We were given a completely different room than booked. Staff treated me and my partner like idiots claiming that this is the one we booked and that pictures on the website are the same for all rooms (where have you seen that?). After finally admitting it was their fault they refused to assist us, give us the room we booked and was very rude. We have lost 2 days of our stay in Athens trying to speak to someone and fighting for what we paid. In the end I was told (by the owner) that I am young and it does not matter where I stay since my whole life is ahead of me. I have never been treated so badly anywhere in the world.
Our room had the nicest view of the Acropolis, staff were helpful. Love the restaurants in the neighbourhood. easy to take the subway back to the airport from the hotel.
The breakfast is a bit sad and the bathroom is super tiny.
Location is great!
well, probably it was my mistake to choose that room, but it wasn't clean enough...
what a great location. Couldn't have been better. Man on desk was most helpful when I found I was a victim of Metro pickpockets! Could leave luggage there all day on last day. Good lift.
Breakfast could have been better - yoghurt would be nice. The bed was so hard and squeaked if you moved - hence no sleep. Small shower was difficult for us to use. Desperately needs a refurb but then it would probably be out of our price bracket.
the location in Plaka overlooking the Acropolis, close to metro and bus.
The room wasn't very clean, dirty towels. The bathroom was tiny, with only 2 soaps. The bed was squeaky couldn't move without doing much noise, we had to put the mattress on the floor to have a decent sleep. The breakfast was terrible. Poor value for money. Would not recommend it!
Excellent location and very friendly and helpful staff,
The room was a bit small but otherwise all was fine.
The location of the hotel is great, the staff are nice and friendly
Our room was in the basement and it smelled of humidity and was not very clean. Even when our rooms were cleaned by the staff, they were not cleaned well. The hotel does not change the towels on a daily basis. Drunk people in the hotel made a lot of noise after 2 in the morning.
We got in late from a ferry and stayed one night so we don't have too much experience with the place. The owners seemed nice and breakfast was included. The location was great.
Our room was in the basement and smelled a bit like gasoline when you first walked down there. Wifi was only available in the lounge.
View of Acropolis is fantastic and the location and easy access to Metro are redeeming values.
The hotel needs a face lift and the owners need a course in hotel management. The condition and state of the hotel is probably the same as when Lord was alive.
Wi-fi is terrible Rooms are dark and damp as a dungeon, disgusting smell in the bathroom
quitness, even mid in the plaka the view out of the balcony to the acropolis and the bussy live down the balcony with all the tourists on the street the very friendly stuff
bathroom to small, water was droping all day and night ( room 36 ) cleaning the room only every 3 days, changing the towels all 2 days is okay. Price for a 2 star Hotel to high, i paid € 85 per night -- i guess you have to pay for the view not for the quality
Handy location but I'm sure there are other places in the area for a similar price!
Stayed in basement room, smelt like urine, bathroom damp and no shower curtain, uncomfortable beds, broken blinds, constant ticking from aircon box outside door. Staff barely looked up from desk when we arrived. Generally unpleasant.
