Guesthouse Mazaraki is situated close to the picturesque village of Mystras, offering eastern views of the Byzantine castle of Mystras and the city of Sparta, or western views of Mount Taygetos.
Score from 176 reviews Wonderful
Set amidst greenery, Mystras Castle Town is located in Mystras, just 30 metres from the central square. It offers air-conditioned accommodation, some with mountain views from their balcony.
Score from 152 reviews Excellent
Located at the foot of Mount Taygetos, in scenic Mystras Town, the traditionally built Mystras Inn features a stone-paved courtyard and a restaurant.
Score from 218 reviews Excellent
Featuring an elegant bar with classical furnishings and modern decorative items, Haikos Hotel lies 3 km from the centre of Kalamata and right across from the Messinian Bay.
Score from 77 reviews Very good
very crowded room, it made it difficult to get around bed to go to the bathroom. The beds were uncomfortable & it really needs an update. They were sanding & painting the outside so made dust in our room.
Lack of heating despite the weather being very cold. Inititial request had the response that there was nothing that could be done as it was warm weather the day before. Heating was put on that evening but turned off in the morning even though weather remained cold.
Efficient staff, great view on Mystras site from the balcony and breakfast buffet
Parking facilities limited
Near the ancient site of Mystras. lovely views from our balcony and other hotel balconies. Good choice of reasonably priced tavernas nearby. Helpful staff. Parking at the hotel.
Air conditioning had been switched off so our room was very hot at night. Swimming pool had leaf debris in it so we weren't sure how clean it was.
location a very large room parking
reception: not really cheerfull, the same as the premices, ol fashioned and kind of sad. :
The hotel is in Mistras village, a lovely place. They serve a good breakfest, the Wi-fi is pretty good, the balcony provides a wonderfull sightseeing of Mistra Village and the whole region. The bedrooms are simple but confortable. It is a excelent cost-benefit.The staff is very friendly and helpfull. I recomend.
The bathrooms in the rooms are small. Not a problem, but do not expect a wonderfull bath.
A good view from our room, up to the spectacular fortress. The pool and garden are good for recovery after exploring the old city. Breakfast was very good and staff were very helpful.
Location was great, friendly staff, great to have a pool
Very well kept property in there part of the world with all the modern convinces.
very nice hotel in a beautiful location with fantastic views,
bathroom could be in better condition
Good rooms and breakfast.Laundry possible here(can be quite difficult in Greece).Plenty of parking.
Nothing but you will need your own car to visit the ruins.
A litmus test for an hotel is when they put their name in individual lights outside how many are alight. At the Byzantion is was just ZANTIO. The rest were dark. That is how tired it is . You just feel it is all too much for the owners and staff. Yes it is cheap, what do you get for €45 these days ? Not much and that is what you get here. Not much. It is in the centre of town , it does have a pool but it is a bit dirty and to be fair the breakfast outside on the veranda is okay and the girls helping are friendly. But you just feel the place needs a shake up and a new broom.
The room is small, the balcony smaller and the bathroom whilst spacious is more because so much space is wasted not through any planning. The lift barely takes two people and bags must wait. The castle is way off in the distance and the tour buses roll by right underneath the rooms almost all of which are " castle view" which means "on the main drag". The nearby restaurants are tourist traps and Mystras is probably best done in an hour or so and then move on leaving the old Byzantium king and this tired hotel to their respective slumbers.
Mystras is great. Hotel is largest building in the village, but still small calm and friendly. Breakfast is nice. Pool not huge but relaxing after heat of the day. Recommended. Not super posh, but just what we needed. And great value.
in the village center, clean, spacious, good garden, pool, view
Breakfast was good and varied and there was a lovely garden and pool (although we didn't have a chance to use either). A great hotel for the price.
It was a bit 'tired' although it had recently been done up. But for the price it was excellent value.
-Very narrow rooms, we could barely move from bed to bathroom -Breakfast not well attended, food running out not refilled
My second stay at Byzantion. Old-fashioned greek sixties family-run hotel. Great view of the medieval village. Right in the centre of the modern village of Mystra next to a great tavern. Pleasant pool. Highly recommended.
Breakfast is spartan, but in the end you are in Sparta!
Breakfast is good
Pool is dirty, too expencive for the things that they provide.
The hotel is nicely situated; the pool is lovely; we enjoyed their continental breakfast. It's not a fancy hotel, but definitely your money's worth.
We had made a reservation for a family room. We were given two rooms en suite, which was fine. However, one of the rooms had very little space to manoeuvre in.
Swimming pool was welcome butthe filter was never on so the water was full of debris and dead bugs. Great view from balcony.
Air conditioner in the room was hopeless in the heat. The room was very small for the price charged, especially the tiny bathroom. Very ordinary breakfast. Wifi rather a hit and miss affair.
nice swimming pool
one of our triple beds was very small as it was a double room with an added bed, I had called in advance to double check the rooms and make sure they had the correct rooming, still when we got there it was wrong... rooms on the front are a bit noisy.
Breakfast very good.
Mattress too hard, sheets a bit too small
pool easy to find clean nice balcony for breakfast
Great location near the ancient town of Mystras. The pool is a lovely addition after a hot day trudging through the town. Clean, comfortable rooms.
Location was excellent for ancient Mystra and the gorge walks. Loved the view from our balcony.
beds were very hard
