Everything about Callinica was just right for a peaceful stress free break. The family are all so kind and considerate and keep the bar open until everyone has gone to bed. The rooms were cleaned daily to an excellent standard. Callinica is perfect placed for a holiday as it is a short stroll to the beach and restaurants but far enough away that you are not disturbed by any night time noise. There are always enough sunbeds and if you need anything you just ask. I cant wait to book next years holiday and highly recommend Callinica
Every member of staff was helpful, and friendly, food was great and plentiful as were the drinks. Accommodation was very comfortable and cleaned every day.The pool was area was lovely and no problem getting a lounger. Highly recommended !!
Location, staff, pool and food.
Air conditioning in rooms free of charge
The very steep hill to our apartments
Very good value for money. Nice to have a balcony with a sea view. Friendly welcome from staff. Excellent cleaning of room on a daily basis. The week was relaxing and highly enjoyable. Good base as long as you enjoy walking.
Some weird noises made sleep difficult at times: some from the air conditioning in other rooms; some from outside the building - and I don't think they were all cockerels!
The Callinica hotel was a real pleasure to stay at, my boyfriend and I spent a week there last week and loved it. The family running the hotel are fantastic, and made us feel really welcome. The poolside bar always seemed to be open which was a bonus! Excellent value for money and nice frosty beer glasses :o) The hotel is a short walk from the beach (where we would visit the beachside cafe/restaurant for a Greek salad every day) and a large selection of restaurants/taverns where we were able to eat somewhere different every night - I must recommend Stamnes Taverna; the food was absolutely superb and with wine served by the litre for no more than 6-7 euros, you can't go wrong. Also the Squid & Octopus was fantastic - all authentic Greek food and lots of wine! There's a water park a stone's throw from the hotel for those who fancy it, and if you want to do any excursions, the coach picks you up from outside the hotel as well for maximum convenience! Overall it had everything we wanted for our week away and would highly recommend to those seeking the same.
breakfast is very good personal is very good
My wife & took our 3 boys (5,11 & 16) for 2 weeks on a B&B basis. This hotel was perfect for us & our needs. The apartment was clean, spacious although could benefit from an update. The staff were excellent & ensured our stay was relaxing - Louise & Nicos were particularly helpful as well as very friendly (as well as the other staff). Our youngest, Archie, needed a separate campbed within the apartment, which was supplied at no extra cost or trouble - he loved it too!!) The pool was clean & not crowded at all - all the people that were staying there were friendly enough which gave a great atmosphere. This may not be the most modern hotel in the town but its perfect for a family holiday wanting to avoid the "all inclusive" dross and the usual suspects trying to take over the poolside etc. My kids loved every minute of it - would not hesitate to recommend or return :-) (ps - this is the first holiday that my wife and were not ready to return home after 2 weeks.....says it all!!
The mattresses were a little uncomfortable, but not bad enough to have to complain. I am sure that had we mentioned it, that it would have been changed without any hassle.
Friendly and English speaking staff, our room was clean and comfortable. We didn't have any troubles during our visit.
Location: can be viewed as both good and bad - it's far from the beach and town center, but that results in good night sleep, and we were using our own transport to various beaches on the island. Bathroom: needs serious renovation.
Good location, friendly and responsive staff, clean and comfortable studio...
Pool nice and clean Facilities relatively ok for a 2-star hotel.
Most of the photos are from the building on the hill with more comfort, accommodation is done differently (possibly depending on nationality) until the beach in Tsilivi are not 450 meters but rather to 1450 meters. Nearest beach beside Alexandra Beach hotel is small but nice. Personal are smiling but without kindness and spirit I have found in Greek mainland. The biggest problem is the noise from the nearby street with trucks, buses and ATVs that run all day until late at night and early morning. At least for the rooms on the second floor of the building near the pool (numbers 19, 18, 17 ...) it is impossible to sleep with the balcony door open, which not insulates sound anyway. Wi-fi quality is very poor, better consider that you do Not have Internet access.
Size of the room, the pool, the small size of the hotel, parking on site, cleaning every day, changing bed clothes and towels every second day.
Location - too far from the good Tsilivi beach which is on the other side of the town - too far for walking, thankfully we had a car. Kitchen wasn't great: 2-ring cooker, one ring is only big enough to use for a coffee maker; the absolute minimum of utensils was provided - for 3 people we had 2 spoons, 4 forks, 3 water glasses, 2 wine glasses, NO wine opener (in Greece, hello!), no small plates, no good knife for cutting vegetables, melons etc - only eating knifes were provided that couldn't cut anything. There was supposed to be free Wi-Fi in the public areas - it was extremely hard to find a public area where Wi-Fi was available, and connection was very poor. Staff was not easy to find - it is a family hotel, they don't have many employees - reception is rarely attended. Bar service was extremely slow and they couldn't make proper mojito.
very good owners of hotel, every day clean rooms and within 2 days change bedlinen and towels, the hotel has good pool, even small one for kids, surrounded by greenery, all rooms have small kitchen
in the kitchen very poor staff for cooking, only one huge pot, if you need boil eggs or sausages you should use it - no way, quite far from the good wide sandy beach but about 7-10 min to nearest not very good beach. So you need use car (about 5 min) or go by walk (about 15-25 min) to good one hosts have chicken and roosters so if you have room with sea veiw you will hear sounds of these birds in the early morning. If you have room with view to the pool is better because less hear of it.
Room was nice and clean. Bed was comfortable (usually in Greece beds are very hard) and I get good sleep. Staff was fantastic! So nice and friendly :) If you buy breakfast they made it for you from menu and it was really good, best breakfast ever :)
very nice sea view from the balcony (second building and first floor) friendly staff (no problem to changed the room for one with a better view) nice pool clean (no bugs) free a/c, safe and wifi (the location of the air conditioner in the hall / kitchen makes that the room temperature cools down much slower, but also much more difficult to catch a cold)
everything was OK, but for some people may be problem with this that the hotel is on a hill and distance to the beach is quite long
Great pool and rooms very comfortable
Little noisy at night from nearby hotel entertainment, but not heard once doors shut.
Nice hotel, friendly staff especially nikolas who works at the bar at night very nice guy and very helpful.its about 5-10min walk to tsilivi centre, pool is nice and the price is very reasonable.
Tsilivi itself is very resorty, lots of bars with English punters trying to get you in the door.after having travelled around Greece before arriving on zakynthos it was a bit of a let down having said that the trip to the blue caves and the shipwreck show you the beauty of the island ands its waters.
King size bed , plenty of lighting, clean towels, small bath ,
Pillows to hard
Swimming pool immaculate. Very wellcoming owner, Nikos and his brother. Right in the touristic village of Tsilivi, plenty of pubs and restaurants. We recommend specially Menhir, traditional and tasty food for reasonable prices, sometimes authentic live music!!
Difficult to find, because there was no address in the booking confirmation. Advised to ask a local taxidriver !!
