Capsis Astoria Hotel    

Very nice room, clean, decent. Excellent breakfast, Very good location. Staff very helpful and obliging.

Pool on roof too small, too many people up there, tiresomely noisy music from bar. Did not linger there.

The hotel personnel is exeptional!! ready to serve !!! the location is great for those that want to spend some time in the city . the brakfast buffet is also very satisfactory

Loud metallic banging noise all night hardly got any sleep, Breakfast laft a lot to be desired unless you are a cake lover. stayed many times in the past but this will be the last time.

This hotel was central and situated in an excellent area. Everything was within view i.e. taxi rank, city tour bus stop, archeological museum, tourist information an food outlets to suit evry taste. There was a genuine feeling of welcome from the staff who were very helpful and great conversationalists.I would particularly mention Anna,Kostos and Panagiotis. For my taste the food was very good and available 24 hours a day. The same applied to room service and the cleaning of the room was available to suit your needs - up to 11 at night.

The staff. Travel weary on arrival, we were treated like long lost relatives coming home. Second, the complimentary breakfast. Coffee was brought to the breakfast table - set with white linens - although the breakfast itself is set up as a sumptious buffet. The selection of food at breakfast is chosen for all tastes including (but not limited to) the tastes of anyone who likes a rich breakfast, or prefers cereals, waffles, hot croissants, and finishing off with breakfast cakes. Best of all, a table of Cretan speciality dishes which was delicious! Bravo to the chefs! The rooms are lovely - very modern. And the location could not be more central.

There was a painting in one of the rooms we stayed in that was a bit disturbing, but other than that, nothing.

Very clean and attractive. Staff had very good English. Very available to help.

Location was exellent for walking tours of Heraklion. Rooms were comfortable and very clean. Beautiful rooftop swimming pool and bar/restaurant was a definite plus.

I have stayed at Capsis Astoria many times and I particularly appreciate the following Its central location friendly and efficient staff excellent breakfast with good coffee clean, well equipped rooms

Very clean and quiet rooms. Full minibar, great double size bed.

check in was good an quick. poolarea very nice,great view over heraklion rooms with nice decor beds were comfortable.

at check out time the staff was not helpfull at all. we had to take our luggage by our own downstairs and the desk people weren´t very friendly. pool was smaller than expected and dirty room: bathroom could be cleaner.

Nice ambiance and nicely decorated rooms. Right in the center of Heraklion.

Our bathroom in the room was not cleaned. We found hair on the wall by the bathtub, dirty magnifier mirror and a strange stain on the bathtub.

Stayed here twice now as I passed through Heraklion. The staff is very friendly and strive to make everyone's stay comfortable as can be. The hotel is kept very clean and you can see that the employees are proud of where they work. The drinks and food at Zefyros, the pool bar, are delicious and the view over Heraklion is wonderful. I will be back!

The people were very helpful and pleasant. The fact that they spoke English was particularly appreciated.

Excellent location it was right in the heart of the city and conveniently across the road from the Archeological Museum and the bus to Knossos was outside the main front door. As well it was only a short walk to the port and to Lions Square. The breakfast and service given was excellent. A large choice of food was available. The room was comfortable although we did have just a double bed and I should have requested a queen. Wi fi was readily available in our room for no charge.

The pool area appeared to be opened up to the general public and as it was school holidays it was overrun and crowded with young teenagers. This was a huge turn off for us and after a very hot day there was no way we could get near the pool especially when this is a selling point for the hotel.

The position of the hotel is very convenient.

Accommodation is in general OK, but it does not provide value for money. Price is too high for what they sell! In spite of the fact that the hotel is on the remote island and in Greece, this is not a four star hotel! It can be barely categorized as a three star hotel. Swimming pool is nice, staff is friendly and helpful, but far from the higher class hotel.
